I wish hermida would be sent down, heisey has to be THE backup outfielder period, whether he is facing a righty or a lefty.

Missed most the game, but got home from class in time to see Chapman get out of the bases loaded jam then shut the Brewers down for another inning and Drew Stubbs put the reds ahead. Great way to end the game.

Exactly. Hermida looks horrible so far.

It was nice. Good to see Joey get another HR too. Phillips is raking too.

Went to my first 2011 game last night. Sell-out crowd and a Reds rally for a win made it a great night. I will say, when the Reds had bases loaded and 0 outs in the 10th, the Marlins switching to 5 infielders was rather ballsy and really smart. Webb induced a ground-out for the first out and it is exactly what they needed to happen. They darn near got out of that inning. Anyway, great win by the Redlegs. If Johnson's pitch count hadn't been as high as it was when he was taken out, I don't think the Reds win that game. He was pitching a gem and the Reds couldn't bring anyone around that they were able to get on base against him.

A big win here, plus the brewers lost a doubleheader today and the cards lost.

Now we need Homer to give us 6 good innings

Good to see we're playing good ball again. I was a little worried when we hit the .500 mark, but we're up to 20-16 now. Wish we could've went wire-to-wire! I still think we have the best shot to win this division, though.

Getting tired of Volquez and his early game troubles. Chapman can't throw strikes anymore. It's all mental or mechanical with those two right now.

                        True.
Big series starts tonight, and the they came back to tie it in the 9th at least. Hoping they can scored in the 10th and win it.
                        Edit: Great Walkoff win!!!

Johnny Cueto better have his "A" game tomorrow. I wonder what, if anything, will happen when Cueto comes to bat. I'm sure the umpiring crew will warn everyone once before the game even starts lol.

I was listening to WLW last night and the talk show host (I can't remember who it was, McAlister I think) said Volquez had been down this road when he was with Texas and they had to basically discipline him by launching him to Single-A. Homer Bailey went through some immaturity a few years ago when Dick Pole (alltime name) was here. They kind of had to do the same thing and Homer has really gotten it together since then. I think they may need to do the same with Edinson. Chapman has wild mechanics and I think somethings a little off with them which is causing it to get in his head.

Not sure if you are saying the situations are the same, but Homer was deliberately ignoring the advice of his coaches because he thought he knew everything already. I don't think Edinson is doing that, although I haven't heard anything to the contrary either. Sending him down to Dayton to work on things for a couple of starts isn't a bad idea though. He pitched great in the game against St. Louis, except for that one pitch to Molina. I thought he was going to be fine after that.
