Cubs 20-4 in their last 24 ballgames. Looking to make it 5 in a row over the Giants tonight.

Ground to gain tonight, potentially 2 back of the Pirates if this score holds. Cards are stomping the DBacks though.

Cards deal with the baseball devil will keep them at the top of the division.

Character with Javier definitely isn't the question.

              Great read.

Graphic on the ESPN broadcast of Cubs/Dodgers mentioned that Jake Arrieta is on a 13 consecutive quality start streak...the most by a Cub since Greg Maddux. I am ok with anything a Cub pitcher does that is compared to Maddux (except for leaving to Atlanta).

This was definitely a quality start.

                  Congrats on the No-Hitter Jake!

I agree. Arrieta's been the true ace of this staff and you have to bring your best available option when your season comes down to one game. Even if it means he doesn't pitch until later in the NLDS I think Joe has to do it.

Well that was a disappointing comeback after the no-hitter. The bullpen was atrocious, and Castro obviously wasn't focused at the end. The team can't afford to lose games like this to a team like the Reds at this point.

I can't really defend him anymore. The lapses just keep coming and I don't think we can just use the 'youth' card now that he's basically a veteran. Starlin might just actually be a bonehead. Not to mention the replacement level hitting, which also makes him harder to defend/root for.

It really amazing how Castro can go to from one of the main players to the team and to somebody who the cubs need to get rid off

Outings like this from Hector Rondon make me question why Joe Joe Maddon ever played musical closers earlier this season. Rondon is clearly the nastiest belle of the ball.
