I would rather Sveum fail at the development for the next couple of years and let Sandberg take the helm once the prospects have been groomed.

This current team will not be a factor in the division for at least another 2 years. Let Sveum be responsible for those 2 years of failure, even if it isnt his fault.

The name Alfonseca suddenly comes to mind!

              Guess I shouldn't be surprised.

We score runs, our pitching sucks. Or our pitching is great, and we can't score runs.

Still haven't learned to put it together obviously.

I posted this in the weekly thread, but figured I might get more help here:

<hr style="color:#393939" size="1"> So yeah, I just found out I am taking a trip to Kenosha, WI tomorrow morning for a few interviews. However, I will be leaving Friday morning to come home and the Cubs are playing the Giants (Samardzija vs. Cain) that day at 1:20 pm so I have decided to go to Wrigley Field for the first time, since it is literally on the way home.

Any tips from Wrigley pros? How early should I get there? Bleacher seats or sit elsewhere? I am driving my own car so any tips on parking would also be appreciated.

                    Very Limited Parking.

Get there early, 11AM range or so. I believe they close the streets, not exactly sure at what time.

Also layer up, it will be cold.

                    Bleachers are overrated in April.

Other than the past year or so, tickets at Miller Park are much easier and cheaper to purchase.

I actually enjoy traveling to Milwaukee for games. Tailgating is fun and although the rivalry is there, it stays on the field, rather than the ugliness you can see between Cubs/Cards fans.

Although now with all the bandwagon fans from the 2008-09 season fully eradicated, tickets at Wrigley are back to a good price and plan on going to 8-10 games this year, on top of 2 in Milwaukee next Fri-Sat.

                          -------------------------------

Also, last night's comeback was fun to watch. Hopefully this will build some momentum and confidence moving forward. I feel like we're close to turning that corner, just need to put it all together at once.

A package with a goat’s head was dropped off at Wrigley, 1060 W. Addison St., addressed to Ricketts, Cubs team spokesman Julian Green said.

The package was dropped off at Gate K at the field, Green said. The delivery was reported to police, he said.

Police were called to the ballpark about 2:30 p.m. because of an "intimidating package," and officers filed an appropriate report, said Police News Affairs Officer Veejay Zala. News Affairs did not have information on details of the incident, but police are investigating, Zala said.
The Cubs are in the middle of highly publicized negotiations with city officials regarding proposed changes at the stadium, including about whether the team should be able to increase the number of night games at the field from 30 to about 40.

Goats are part of Cubs lore, dating back to a supposed curse placed on the team by the late Billy Goat Tavern owner William Sianis during the 1945 World Series after Sianis' goat was denied entrance into the park. Columnists including Mike Royko and David Condon helped popularize the legend, and Cubs officials over the years have repeatedly denied the existence--or at least the relevance--of the curse.

Chicago Cubs prospect Jorge Soler was suspended five games and fined an undisclosed amount for an incident Wednesday in which he approached the opposing team's dugout wielding a bat during a Single-A game in Daytona Beach, Fla.

Kevin Gregg signed to a minor league deal apparently...hopefully he doesn't ever get up to the majors. I can't help but remember how bad he was last time around.
