My guess is that the Cubs have realized they have no freaking idea how to groom a young player.
My bet is that by 2015, the team is made entirely of vets over the age of 27, since the entire organization consistently fails to develop talent.
At this point, it doesn't seem as if they are trying to coach Castro at all. He has all the same problems as he did when he came up...
And by that I mean the guy who is going to be a manager, if we ever get these young guys to blossom. I feel he's just a filler candidate and when 2014/2015 come around and majority of these guys are up he won't be managing.NFL: Green Bay Packers

I'm right with you. I don't dislike Svuem at all as a manager (I do have my gripes) but in all honesty, I just don't see him as that guy.

Svuem is just here for a couple of years while Epstien builds the team he wants, by 2014 or 15 Sandberg will be the manager and the team will be competing on a yearly basis. That's what I'm hoping for.

nice...the team's OF future looks incredibly bright. And a great deal, I think...even if he doesn't pan out to full expectation, he will be unloadable.
I'm gonna take a moment to make note of how great Dempster has been as a starter. When they put him in the rotation after 3 years as a closer I really had my doubts. That was several years ago, and, quite honestly, he has been wonderful. This year might even be his best on the mound, even if he doesn't often get run support. Arguably the most consistent performer on the team over that span.Last edited by fugazi; 06-11-2012, 03:51 PM.Australian Rules Football...just sayin'Comment

Rudy Jaramillo has been fired. When he was hired all I heard was a lot of hype about he was one of the greatest hitting coaches around, but he never lived up to it. I don't think it was completely his fault though we haven't necessarily had the best of hitters during his tenure.
