He (Joey Votto) has to fit better into the role we see for him, or he might have to hit in a different spot in the order….. that’s something Bryan will certainly approach Joey with, and something we will discuss. There are certain things he has to do. -

re: 2014 Cincinnati Reds Thread
This thread has entertained the hell out of me. You got everyone on one side, and then there's Hustlin, but he's not budging though
Anyway, I don't know how Red's fans can feel so disappointed. Look at that lineup and starting rotation, and it's looking good for the Red's future.
Even if they beat the Pirates, they face the Cardinals, and I don't even need to see that happen in real life to know what the result would be.
Last year ya'll fell to the Giants, well that doesn't look so bad now either does it, and losing in five was really impressive, honestly.
I agree on Baker, I think he got this team as far as it could go, I'm not sure I would have fired him though, because I don't know if Price is the answer, I don't know much about him at all. He's an unproven pitching coach, from what I've gathered. Talk about shaking it up.
This team is another good hitter away from being serious. The rotation is looking good, not too many question marks. Latos is a stud, Cueto is when healthy, Bailey has come a long way. Enter Aroldis, and there's a potentially filthy rotation.
I think the Red's future is looking up, this is a far cry from the teams I used to watch. Paul Wilson and Danny Graves anyone? The future is bright in Cincy.Comment

Votto was due for a regression year, I think he has a huge year in 2014. (Votto like)Comment

re: 2014 Cincinnati Reds Thread
I don't know anything about him but looking at his stats he seems to have some pop. Surely he would have more and potentially hit for a slightly better average at GABP.
Does he get injured a lot or does he platoon and that's why his "games played" is consistently low?
Are you saying this as a wish list type statement or has there been some talk about him possibly coming to Cincy?#WeAreUKComment

If were going on a wishlist type thing, I want Giancarlo Stanton in LF for us next year. A top 4 of Hamilton/Votto/Stanton/Bruce is great.
I obviously doubt we will be able to get him, but I would trade Chapman and Bailey plus another decent prospect (not Stephenson) for him.Cincinnati Reds University of Kentucky Cincinnati Bengals

Cruz is another guy that can hit the ball very far. He was on his way to a career year in Texas this year, but then Biogenesis happened.
Both guy's would have big offensive seasons in Cincy, I'm not even exaggerating.
Cruz is definitely a possibility.Comment

Lance McAllister conducted an interview with Joey Votto.
Lance McAlister covers everything in Cincinnati sports! Host of sports talk on Cincinnati News Radio 700WLW and ESPN 1530!
Cliff notes version:
His thoughts on the Bryan Price hire (lots of sports cliches)
Accountability (ducked the subject, though gave props to Scott Rolen)
Discussion of his hitting approach
Walt Jocketty's comments
Implied that his knee was bothersome for two-thirds of the seasonComment

re: 2014 Cincinnati Reds Thread
Stanton playing at GABP? omg they may never find the ball, I mean they might have to warn barges out there on the Ohio, when he comes up to bat. But really, that ballpark would boost Stanton's "light tower power" to unprecedented heights, and I could see him hit 50+ homeruns playing for the Reds.
