Re: **The Official New York Yankees Thread**

Honestly, I just think it was bad timing. With the way the team was playing, we really didn't need to be trying to get out of a funk against the Red Sox, one of the best and hottest teams in the league.

We've got 3 against the Tigers, and 2 against the Marlins. We need at least 4 if not all of these 5 to be wins.

To me Judge, Stanton and Sanchez showed up. But it shows that the team has average players around them.

Other than Didi, the other guys aren't stars.

Guys like Tyler Wade, Neil Walker, and Torreyes aren't starter material, but that's just what the injuries have brought us. Hopefully Gleyber is up in a month or 2 and does well. If Greg Bird can ever play baseball again (kidding...but not really), that would help. When the pieces are in place, that'll get better.

What worries me is if a pitcher gets hurt, we just have no depth to replace them. CC goes down and our first guy to call up is...Luis Cessa? Not ideal. And you just never know with pitcher injuries, could happen anytime. So I'm kinda curious to see what the plan is there. Converting Chad Green seemed like a great idea when we projected the greatest bullpen in history and arms to spare...the reality is a little more questionable, at least so far.

Damn, Cashman hugging the Yankees prospects too tight seems like a huge mistake now that we’ve seen a few starts from Cole. There’s not even any other great starting pitching available for the next few years, because all the elite arms are already on playoff teams.

It is concerning they decided to not add really any rotation depth to the team. Relying on Chance Adams to be ready to contribute at the MLB level by the time any potential rotation injuries hit?

This team will be fine. Barring major injuries to the rotation. The offense just isn't clicking on all cylinders yet. Once Sanchez and Stanton get going. This team will average 5 or 6 runs a game.

I know it's April. But getting beat up on by the Marlins is concerning.

If Miggy keeps it up, he'll be with some notable company in the history books.

                        Via ESPN:

"If 23-year-old Miguel Andújar has an extra-base hit in his next game, he'll be entering some rarified Yankees air. He's had an extra-base hit now in six straight games. According to Elias, the only Yankees with longer such streaks before their 24th birthdays were Mickey Mantle (seven games in May 1955) and Joe DiMaggio (seven in June 1937). Andújar will turn 24 next March."

A couple of guys looked like they breathed a sigh of relief yesterday in the 8th.

Torres and Stanton. Good. Now we need them to keep it up!

Good to see Tanaka have a good outing, with his inconsistency it seems like you just don't know if you're getting the good Tanaka or bad Tanaka on any given day.

Reminds me of Burnett. Remember that roller coaster?

Obviously Tanaka at his best is much better than Burnett. But I never know if I absolutely need to clear my schedule to watch Tanaka's start or if I'm going to regret not doing that other thing by the time the 3rd inning starts.
