What can I say? I love this team. The fight in them is unreal. No lead is safe with this lineup clicking like this.

I'm off the cautiously optimistic train. The hype train is now boarding, and it's full steam ahead!

I'm almost there with you. For some reason Memorial Day is always my "ok now everything is real" when it comes to baseball. Lol

So, if the Yankees go just .500 the rest of the way, they will have 86 wins. There's a really good chance they win 90+.

The hype is real. It's not nonsense to think the Yankees will be playing in October.

Nonbelievers making their amends I see lol... Praise CashGod! It's going to be interesting to see how this team performs over this year and next. If we can compete and enter the big free agency period without ever having to have a real down time, give that man a monument.

I don't think I can recall having an issue with Cashman. He's been the scapegoat for a lot of Steinbrenner mistakes.

He eats it. And moves on. It takes some thick skin to work for the organization.

Obviously he has a lot of cash to work with and it helps. But there's a mastermind in there.

We've seen what bad GMs have done to teams that spend a lot of money.

I agree plus his back was against the wall with those big priced contracts of the older guys ( Jeter, Arod, Tex etc). I think when they went all in for the 2009 team they thought they would win another ring, when it went south they had to wait it out.

Now if yanks go deep in October this year and beyond they will write books about his magic last few seasons

Was Cano all Steinbrenner? Or did Cashman agree with not resigning him, I can't remember his feelings on that.

I believe Cano / Elsbury was Cashman. He isn't perfect.

I think the Cano situation made sense. It just didn't make sense to turn around and then sign Elsbury.

There were other mistakes. Joba, for example.

That's kind of what I thought. They absolutely blew the Cano situation. I think Cashman today doesn't make that decision. But that was really bad.

He's definitely been great lately though, impeccable really. Looking more and more like he absolutely robbed the Cubs.

He got Didi for peanuts. Hicks may actually be something special. Alot of that has to with great player scouting too. But as a whole Cashman and the Yankees organization seem to understand how to build a team now. I give Cash alot of credit, and Hal for letting him do his thing.

Not to mention the brilliance of the pen construction, understanding the importance of great relievers. There's a good chance if we don't have Cash, the Yankees go rebuild and it's ugly. But Cashman has honestly brought a whole new meaning to the word "rebuild" Brilliant.

Without Cashman, there's no Clint Frazier, Torres. Probably don't have Judge just because. No Castro. No Didi. Sanchez likely ends up being traded in the minors for a half year of Lester or something.

If Frazier and Torres turn out to be all they are cracked up to be, it would be one of the biggest heists in the history of baseball. Getting possible star position players for relievers. I think Torres is the real deal.

Interested to see how the guys come out to play after that marathon last night, and an exhausting series as a whole honestly against the Cubs. It showed flashes of those great Yankees- Sox series in late 90's early 00's when both teams were really good

Ah...this is dangerous thinking. I'll never forget in 2007 my Braves started 24-12 after a tough 2006. I did the math and thought "oh, they can play .500 ball and the rest of the way and they'll win 87 games". Of course, they went 60-66 the rest of the way and missed the playoffs. It's a LONG season...
