Hicks doing everything to make Yankee fans hate the Ellsbury signing even more.

I'll give Joe credit for sticking with him and letting him thrive.

I never would have thought Hicks could be an All Star. One more month of this.

man i hated that signing from day 1. who was even bidding for him?

nobody. add what he got and beltran, it was similar total money to what the front office didnt want to pay jayz and cano.

they shouldnt have cared what cano was gonna be in the final 2 years of a 10 year. having arods 10 year tail end falme out scared the front office overly so... (but he was a steriod flameout).

if they were gonna go into the off season and then semi nickle and dime cano, they should have traded him away during the season. imagine the haul we could have got. i'm not saying this in hindsight. if cano was with us into the offseason, i would have paid him some combo of 8-10 years that he wanted. cano got a offer from seattle and came back to NYY that we would take a little less from nyy. cashman & co said good riddance.

beltran was injured left and right his first year with us and was only hitting his baseball card on his contract year. he was overweight with us for a late 30s player still wanting to play OF (we also had a log jam at dh so this played to betrans hand anyway ) he only lost a little weight comin into last season - the contract season. He was a defensive liablity.

before making moves to get castro, 2B was a dark dark hole in production. it hurt NYY.

Yeah it's been ugly these last two series, really hope we can turn it around. At risk of being tied for the division if the Red Sox win tonight. Too early to care too much about the standings but it's indicative of how hard the streak has hit us.

Sliding into home plate. It may just be a conspiracy to turn him into a left handed pitcher.

I've heard this isn't how it happened but apparently everyone is on the blame it on the slide bus.

I looked into that since the slide was the only thing I had heard about. Just watched a video from the game and the slide into home was definitely what caused it.

Yeah, looks like people are blaming him for going head first when he actually went in feet first but it's people so I'm never surprised.

It looks like maybe he tried to go in feet first and messed up or something, but when he got to the plate he was basically doing a head first slide. Really weird play.

Very bad slide attempt. I don't think he knew what he wanted to do. Tried to just touch the plate with his hand and not sure why.
