Re: **The Official New York Yankees Thread**
My biggest keys to this season is bring in runners in scoring position. You do that you force a game five against Boston. Then who knows. Execution with players on third base was pretty terrible. Execution with 2 outs was equally terrible. Boston was masterful at that.
The other big thing is get Gary right. You dont do what he did. unless you are truly gifted. He wasn't right last year. That was apparent. You get Gary right. The Yankees lineup is terrifying.

Re: **The Official New York Yankees Thread**
Love the LeMahieu signing. In my opinion a player like him is the perfect addition to the Yankees lineup. Great defense, consistently hits for average, and a tough strikeout unlike Stanton and Judge. Coors is great for hitters, but so is Yankee Stadium. Wanted a player like him added to the lineup for a while now.
I’m not that upset now about passing on Machado, at least you avoid the attitude concerns. I think having a slight bit of fear of what he’ll be like after he’s secured his huge payday is justifiable as well.
While I am a Harper fan and would love to see him join the Yankees, thanks to how inconsistent he’s been he’s simply not a 300M+ contract player until he proves he can produce at an elite level more consistently. If that doesn’t change, any team that gives him a 300M+ deal will regret it.
The Nationals should stay away from him. MLB Network showed their potential 2019 lineup with and without Harper and their OF/lineup looks fine without him. They couldn’t win with him before he got so expensive, handing him a long term 300M deal won’t help, will only hurt the team and keep them from adding more.Comment

The Nationals have the richest owner in the league. The only thing more ridiculous than them worrying about financial concerns is us worrying about financial concerns. The only one who should not want them to sign Bryce is Hal Steinbrenner because it will make his attempt to reset the tax look ridiculous when a team that makes so much less can just sign whoever they want.Originally posted by G PericoIf I ain't got it, then I gotta take it

Re: **The Official New York Yankees Thread**
Besides for being a lefty, what does Harper add to the lineup that they don’t have? To me he seems like a duplicate Stanton with a similar contract. None of our big guys have bad splits, so what else does he add?

Re: **The Official New York Yankees Thread**
Again, remember that last year we thought the Yankees had a lot of outfielders and in the first week or month, I forget, they were signing scraps from the bottom of the barrel just to field an outfielder.
Hicks is a good player. He gets hurt.
Judge has now had two injuries in two seasons. That's worrisome.
Stanton has had freak accidents but big guy, never know.
Frazier might be cleared but you never know.
Gardner is old and might not even hit well.
Ellsbury is Ellsbury.
We think they have depth now. But what happens when someone gets hurt? They can either turn to someone in AAA or they can flex that financial muscle and say, it's all good because Harper is in the lineup.
Girardi and Boone figured out how to get Gardner, Hicks, Judge and Frazier/Stanton at bats over the past two seasons.
They can figure out a way to get Harper in there too thanks to the DH. Any four could play while a fifth sits down. Frazier still has options.
And there is also 2020 to think about when Gardner is likely not back, Hicks is a free agent (I think) and the team can release Ellsbury and/or trade Frazier.
Deal with the headache for one year and figure it out for 2020.

Re: **The Official New York Yankees Thread**
I think the allure of Harper is. This guy hasn't even hit his prime yet and he would with the Yankees. And with that would likely come some monster seasons in pinstripes. He's a lefty and with that short porch it's a great combination.
Looking at a lineup with Judge, Harper, Stanton in the middle is obviously pretty scary. And like CMH said He's a pretty amazing insurance policy if Judge or Harper gets hurt. So I get it.
The question is. Is it necessary. And who is Harper. What exactly are we getting?

Re: **The Official New York Yankees Thread**
Harper yes......Machado nope.
But I would not complain if they landed Manny. I am just apprehensive about him after getting the big payday. Just a gut feeling.
