Looks like the deal is 2 years, 34 mil, with a vesting option for another 17 mil season in 2021 if he hits a certain innings/starts threshold. It's what you want.

I get what Cash was going for with the Death Star reference but... He's seen the end of those movies right?

Random but check this out for Stadium goers:

ESPN's Outside the Lines reviewed food-safety inspection reports for all 111 North American pro sports venues. Find your stadium and see how it fared.

TL;DR: The food is a disgrace (flies, inadequate hygiene for the workers, improper handling, etc.). They went to 43 places and found 34 high level violations. We're the worst in MLB and 6th worst in sports. I'll be adding this to the list of things that infuriates me if we don't open the season with a 250+ million dollar payroll along with us having the least amount of postseason shares to give out (means the players, Houdini is the one named, decided to hoard the playoff shares instead of spreading them out to clubhouse attendants) and our guys crossing a picket line in Boston (members of a union crossing a picket line smh). Revenue skyrocketing... Payroll lowest its been in years... WHERE IS THE MONEY GOING?

What saddens me is that this Yankee Stadium debacle just adds to the Bronx stereotype of uncleanliness and people not giving a ****.

I mean a lot of it is true but you would think a billion dollar stadium would try to buck the trend. Instead it doubled down.

          Real nice.

The saving grace is they let you bring food into the stadium, so you can get a slice anywhere and just walk in with it. Let's not even get into the fact that you can't get a decent slice of pizza inside.

Baseball related, there's a new article on The Athletic about how the reason the Yankees are so bullish on Gary is because he's great at "following the game plan"... I'm going to choose to take that positively, as in he's very studious in breaking down scouting reports and not as this guy who's been in the system since he was 16 has been indoctrinated in the Yankee way. It also says the analytics said that Lance Lynn was the right move in game 3 with the bases loaded, and that he deviated from the plan. I imagine the plan was to not suck, and he deviated from it by suckling.

Yankees need to go hard after Kluber. That's just what this team needs a legit frontline ace.

Hopefully Manny makes his decision (and it's us) shortly after New Years and then some movement can be made in that direction. Cleveland cleared a lot of space so I'm not sure how serious they still are about moving a pitcher. Also not sure about the Andujar fit there.

Dodgers need a big righty bat, we need a big lefty bat...sign and trade Bryce for Stanton, who says no? Seriously the stove needs to heat up, so many relievers out there.

                    WHO IS DAN CLARK?!?!

Have heard that the #Yankees, #Phillies, and #WhiteSox have all made their final offers to Manny Machado, and it is indeed New York where he’ll be heading. Announcement expected early-January.

I geuss it’s always possible that talks broke down for some reason but we all know how that turned out.

Never heard of him before either. I don’t trust it.

I wouldn't put money on his word, but I would've put money after it came out that the announcement would be after New Years that we would be the choice... It could be an actual scoop, or just an educated guess. He's an Orioles guy. We will see soon enough.

So is the consensus around here. Gray GTFO? Part of me wonders if he could have a resurgence and he'd be incredibly motivated to show last year was a fluke. But after last year. Its hard to give him many more chances.

I'm hoping we could get something good in return. Still young. With a pretty good track record. But I can't imagine teams are incredibly interested. And I can't blame them.

He could probably thrive in San Diego or something lol

He's not a terrible pitcher, he's just a head case, can't pitch at home. I fully expect for him to pull a Phil Hughes where ever he goes next but it'll probably take a change of scenery for that to happen so I can't be mad. I don't even know what we can really expect for him.

Whenever I watched him pitch he just always seemed to be too perfect. He couldn't hit his spots consistently. And he would never give in and would walk a bunch of guys. Then the hits would just start pouring on.

In a nutshell. He didn't look like he trusted **** last year. And yea he probably isn't a big market pitcher either. Sure didn't seem like it lol

Gray reminds me of Ian Kennedy. Finesse guys that need the corners to work their magic but for whatever reason couldn't do it in New York.
