Nice little move. Feels like a response to Jeter nabbing Posada.

I wonder how long Bernie gets ignored, yet again.

Bernie probably would decline he’s got his band gig.

Hicks is a classic late bloomer. Hitting in that lineup makes him that much more valuable and of course his defense is A++. If we get 4 great years it is a bargain.

Nice extension, along with the Sevi extension. Very happy with the make up of this team. **CK Boston and we are taking the division this season. We just need guys to stay healthy like every contender in the league. It typically comes down to health. If Boston fans thinks everything will break perfectly right again for them 2 years in row...they are delusional fans.

Boston is due for regression. Just the law of averages. Still got a nice core. Stayed pretty healthy. But they will be hard pressed to to duplicate last years run.

Bullpen got worse. Rotation stayed the same. Maybe they sign Kimbrel. But they seem content to run with the same group.

Still obviously very good. But rarely do teams repeat. I'm honestly not too worried about them. Which may sound crazy. But it's just difficult to duplicate what they did.

OK so in the last month, I've lost Porzingis, Zuccarello, and now OBJ.

We need to sign Judge to a lifetime extension or I may never sleep again.

No Severino till May. Come on Cashman, go get Kuechel. If he’s interested in playing baseball this year he can’t possibly be demanding that much money at this point. When Sevy comes back they can just release CC who shouldn’t have been brought back in the first place.

Isn’t that a big reason why they won’t add a Gonzalez or Kuechel? Because there’s not much of a spot once everyone is healthy? And either one would want a guaranteed spot. CC is the obvious one to lose his spot to make room. Maybe I should’ve said bullpen instead of release but what’s the big problem? Just attached to him because of all the years he’s been a Yankee?

Should’ve been Corbin in the first place but a short term deal for Kuechel isn’t bad.

Somebody like Cessa or Tommy should be on the chopping block way before CC

I figure Kuechel is on the market still because he's not looking for a one year deal or less money. He may eventually be forced there if he wants to play but it'll be well after Severino is healthy.

CC has seen better days but he's still very capable and very important to that staff. Sometimes you gotta give a little to get more in the future. Dumping him would send the wrong message to other vets in free agency. Can't treat this like a video game and just release guys with decreased ratings.

Plus we know CC can pitch in NYC. Every Yankees fan has seen how certain guys implode here. Giving up on CC just because someone else might be better is too short sighted.

That said, I don't think you're wrong that the Yankees need to start getting serious about another arm. Someone is bound to be injured later on as well. But let's see what Cessa does before we panic.

Also Montgomery is expected back mid-season.
