Great comeback tonight against the Astros

Torres wow this kid has far lived up to his hype to this point, it’s early still but he just looks like a pure natural at the plate and in the field

Too bad they traded Miller. He has been injured this year but he did have another dominant season last year. I geuss no one could have known they would be a championship contender again so soon but still. In hindsight probably should of just kept him since he was under contract for a few more years.

Glad Tanaka is good. Doesn't sound like he's gonna even need to miss a start.

So it's clear the Yankees need another SP. Oh how I'd love Bumgarner. But the Giants are creeping back into the playoff picture. So he's probably going nowhere.

        So Hamels? Fulmer?

Maybe the Mets will get over their refusing to trade with the Yankees and move Degrom.

            I'd love to get Degrom.

Update: Tanaka apparently will be sidelined for a couple weeks.

I think we knew this but Gleyber Torres is untouchable. Cashgod was asked if he could be traded. He replied with..." Come on now I have to walk around this city" lol

I don't know if he would be ready for the stage. But I'm not 100% against just staying pat. Because this Domingo German kid has undeniably great stuff. He's getting more swings and misses then Sevy. 10 K's?

Knock on wood. But the Yankees are finally figuring out how to develop starting pitching. And that Losiagia kid looked great yesterday too.

Maybe you have to go all in and acquire a deadline ace. But I'm not so sure. And the pen has been lights out. Good times man.

I don't see a realistic Ace trade. It would require surrendering someone more valubable to the future. Would rather have 6+ years of a young player than one or two of some ace that fills one hole of three.

Instead I think the Yankees should focus on depth. What if another pitcher goes down? Find more Jaime Garcia types. Not exciting, I know, but they need to have bodies so they aren't forced to promote prospects that are not ready (see Adams, Sheffield).

**The Official New York Yankees Thread**

I think the Yankees rotation is very underrated, Tanaka and CC pitched very well in playoffs last year, their bullpen shortens every game and even most solid pitchers only go twice through the lineup in playoffs (Bumgarner, Verlander being the exceptions) I agree with more depth, Sonny not looking good put German in then bullpen rest of the game, it’s only a 3-4 man rotation anyway in October

Nobody out there worth giving up the farm for, nobody being mentioned imo is much better if at all the what we have

I think the Yankees rotation is pretty good. Sonny will be better. Tanaka is nails in October.

But is it still good enough to match up with the Astros? The answer is No.

                        Verlander
                        Keuchel
                        Cole
                        McCullers
                        Morton

                        Sevy
                        Tanaka
                        Gray
                        C.C
                        German
                        .....

The caveat is the Yankees pen is significantly better. That tips the scales some.

I believe the Yankees have to go through the Astros again. It would be nice to add another big arm. But maybe German can fill it.

I believe they do as well, however they have played well against them both in NY and in Hou this year, also outside of Verlander they can get to the rest of those pitchers. Finally if the Yanks keep playing the way they are they will have home field advantage this time around and that is HUGE. Depth wise I think the Yankees are better on the mound to make up the difference in the talent Hou has so they can just keep throwing out more quality arms if someone has a rough start ala Severinos wild card game last year, either way it would be a great series that could go either way again like last year

So they seriously played out that suspended game tied in the 6th inning today....how dumb. Stopping a game in the middle then continuing it weeks later ruins it. Either play through the rain, wait however long it takes to resume play in rain delay, or postpone it completely. That simple.

While I disagree with you, there are some really stupid statistical anomalies attached to suspended games. E.g. if a batter has a hit streak going into the game, doesn’t get a hit before it is suspended and then doesn’t get one after it resumes, the entire streak is technically ended on the date of the original game. So you could potentially have someone break DiMaggio’s record back in May, then strike out twice yesterday and it no longer counts. The same applies to team streaks as well. The win, and everything that happens, happens statistically on the date of the original game.
