Kerry Wood is the 3rd if not 4th best pitcher in this rotation anyway so his 2 or 3 stints on the DL this year doesn't really bother me. He should've been converted into a closer by now anyway.

I know also Prior's start got pushed back and they wanted to use a simulated game to build up his arm strength some more....What? I remember last year they said nothing was wrong too! I'll take 5 Maddux's over these 'young guys' any day....well except for big Z. He's the best pitcher on our staff.
Too funny bro. I am not worried about Prior. Wood as you said always goes through this crap. Still we need him to win so i hope he's ok.

This was funny from today's Times..

        Code:
        NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT, REALLY

The Cubs sent Kerry Wood back to Chicago for tests on his tight right shoulder Thursday. The word from the team is it's not serious. Cubs fans heard that several times last season, only to find out later the injury was severe.

Injury: Mark Prior arrives in camp with right Achilles tendinitis.
Cubs claim: ''I'm not that concerned,'' Dusty Baker says. ''It's a minor thing,'' Prior adds.
Reality: Prior's first outing is June 4.

Injury: Mike Remlinger arrives in camp still recovering from rotator-cuff surgery the previous fall.
Cubs claim: ''We don't know for sure Rem won't be ready [for Opening Day],'' Jim Hendry says.
Reality: Remlinger's first outing is May 25.

Injury: Mark Grudzielanek's right Achilles flares up April 10.
Cubs claim: ''If he can fight through the initial irritation, he can get used to it,'' former trainer Dave Groeschner says.
Reality: Grudzielanek doesn't play until June 19.

Injury: Kerry Wood leaves May 11 game after two innings with tightness in his right triceps.
Cubs claim: ''It just got tight and stiffened up,'' Wood says. ''It didn't kill me out there.''
Reality: Wood doesn't pitch again until July 11.

Injury: Todd Hollandsworth fouls a ball off his right leg June 27.
Cubs claim: Doctors tell the team Hollandsworth should be fine after taking a couple of days off.
Reality: Hollandsworth misses the rest of the season.

Injury: Aramis Ramirez injures his groin running the bases July 2.
Cubs claim: ''Hopefully, this is going to be just three to five days,'' Hendry says.
Reality: Ramirez doesn't play again until July 18.

That's similar to what the people do at Dodgerblues.com.

And you thought I was just being a cynical Cub's fan. More of the same.....

TEMPE, Ariz. -- The Cubs no longer are trying to paint a happy face on Kerry Wood's shoulder injury. Manager Dusty Baker acknowledged Sunday that the team has considered alternatives for its Opening Day starter if Wood isn't able to go April 4 against the Arizona Diamondbacks.

heard on the Dan Patrick show (via a Chicago radio guy who talked to Prior) that Mark Prior has an inflammation in his elbow, is taking anti-inflammatories, and will be on the shelf for a few days...they didn't mention how long he'd be out or anything. Seems just like last season, with Wood and Prior both hurt, I feel bad for Cubbie fans

I cant believe this garbage. Why!!! Why!!! This is just like last year. I hope to god its minor but how can it be. Wood's elbow was sore too for a while before he blew it in 1999 and prior cant be too far behind. He was on WGN radio in Feburary and said he has been on a throwing program since Thanksgiving. If thats the case how come now after all that time of throwing he is now hurt? This season could be over before it starts.
