When Zambrano throws strikes early in the count, he is a much better pitcher. When he gets behind, he gets in trouble. He walks too many batters, but I dont remember teams just shelling Zam'. If he can cut down the walks, and finally reaches his potential, I think it softens the blow of trading away Kazmir. I still wish we waited and traded Kazmir for Hudson, but I'm getting over it...

Does this mean all you who wanted him traded at the beginning of the year take it back?

That's why Zambrano gets a lot of grief. He's not good enough to trade a #1 pitching prospect for. I think getting Zambrano would've been better if the Mets were able to trade away a couple of mediocre(but with potential) prospects for him instead of their #1 pitching prospect. He's just a bit wild.

Lately though, he has gotten a lot better. He's still a bit wild, true, but he is looking real good. He just can't melt down when he gets in trouble. He didn't the other night, which is a great step for him.

I love Pedro. I think he's the hotest pitcher in the leauge right now.....I bet Boston is killing themselves watching Pedro Shine right now.

nice game.. glad to see the Mets doing well now.. & now getting some bullpen help.. Cameron is just hitting lights out.. & finally it seems that the bats are coming around even with Piazza not being "Piazza-like"..

Tough loss last night. Mets couldn't get anything done when they had the chance to.

Bleh, man, I hate to think about A-Rod, but..

                      Random thought..

I swear, there's nobody that has passed through the Mets to have worn the number 24 since Willie Mays.

Am I wrong in assuming nobody since Mays has worn the #24?

EDIT: Forgot Rickey Henderson wore it, but did anybody else wear it?

Except for two batters in this game, Washburn has been pretty scary with getting Mets batters out tonight when the Mets needed hits.

When the Mets needed a hit.. first, Marlon Anderson with the inside the park homer, and then Cliff Floyd just launched a shot!

I got worried after Piazza and Beltran struck out, it looked like yet another situation where the Mets wouldn't be able to push home a run. Floyd launching that one chanegup into orbit that only the wind shoved foul also got me worried, but then.. he redeems himself after a 3K night nicely!

Donnelly was nasty with that change...But it actually worked for us w/ Floyd being able to watch two guys go down to the Change. It seemed as if he wasn't concerned the the fastball and just waited for a change up to launch. Great win, and we have Pedro going tommorrow. Lets keep pace with the Nats.

I can't believe they waved Marlon Anderson home, but you kinda had to. We needed that run.

Marlon Anderson's got good speed, and he had a chance to go home, so take it A slower runner would've been held up at third most likely.

As for Floyd, the first changeup he launched definitely looked like it was the game winner. I jumped out of my seat.. then all of a sudden it took a really BAD curve foul. The wind seemed like it was blowing towards right field all night and it simply took that one foul. The announcer said it looked like he got out in front of it, but I didn't see that. Floyd just CRUSHED that one perfectly.

The second one, though.. the wind couldn't take that one

ofcourse I take it back now, the only reason why I said he should be traded is, he crying like a **tch at the begining of the year, so now if he can keep his trap closed and play like he's playing and the Mets win, should it reall matter where his play's in the feild, I though sports was about winning not whinning, so if the Mets continue to win with cam in right feild, he should just be happy with it.
