Re: 2010 Recruiting Discussion Thread
I wish, probably would have a normal job. WWW is a good guy to have, I was simply correcting the post about WWW flying people around. It won't be him anymore, it will be Butler.
Until the NCAA says that people like WWW is illegal, I'm hoping Memphis finds its version.Comment

Re: 2010 Recruiting Discussion Thread
Ok so Enes Kanter is really good. Heard he was good, but didn't know he was that good. 34 points and 13 rebounds in the Nike Hoops Summit game. Set the record for most points scored passing Dirk Nowitzki's scoring record of 33 points.#WeAreUKComment

Justin Coleman and Russ Smith both looked good last night in the Derby Festival Classic. Coleman, for what its worth, won the dunk contest.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Any UK fans to care to comment on the rumor that Kanter was paid $600k over a 4 year period while playing in Turkey?"You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier

He's hoping Alabama can land him.
Not a UK fan, but I've been following the situation closely. I'm hearing that there is no way he gets eligible. He played at the highest level in his country, making hundreds of thousands like you mentioned. Deniz Kilicli of WVU played at a much lower level and missed 20 games. Add that his former team is not willing to help him get eligible, they are pissed that he left.Last edited by JVal3208; 04-11-2010, 08:01 PM.Now Playing: FIFA 15, NBA2K15Comment

His parents are extremely well off with his Father being a Doctor (Surgeon I believe) and he has kept meticulous records of everything because they knew the rules and new he would eventually play in college in the US. Not to mention that Cal and UK (with one of the best Compliance Officers in all of college) looked into detail about this before an offer was made.
Obviously there is a chance that he was paid, but I find it highly suspicious of the timing of all of this. If he is ineligible to play, then that sucks for UK. If he is eligible then that sucks for the rest of the SEC.#WeAreUKComment

Re: 2010 Recruiting Discussion Thread
Exactly. WWW or whoever else is posing as WWW these days, mainly erase bank records for a living. That way when there is anyone that loses their amateur status, this dude will go covert and erase, shred, burn, destroy any records so that kid can play at Kentucky.
Boy I'm glad someone knows what's really going on. Thanks P2K for helping me educate everyone#WeAreUKComment

Re: 2010 Recruiting Discussion Thread
I don't see how you can play in the top level of one of the big Euro leagues and not be paid. But if no contract exists, then you have to let him play.
the NCAA is in the process of changing the rule to allow foreign players who played pro to play college ball, if they declare they didn't take any pay. No proof required, apparently, just a signed statement.Last edited by fsquid; 04-12-2010, 08:10 AM.Comment
