Re: Selection Sunday Thread
I have no problem with UK.
But I've been watching them play all year and hearing all the national title talk is a bit much. They've got talent, but since when does that equal a title? Especially when all the talent is comprised of freshmen?Twitter

Re: Selection Sunday Thread
So a team that will likely have the #1 and #2 picks in the NBA draft, has multiple other very good players, and have lost 2 games all year is being talked about as a national championship contender?
Who should be talked about as a championship contender if not them? The Lakers?Comment

Re: Selection Sunday Thread
Duke has significantly more competent players on the inside this year than they have had any year since Sheldon Williams left, IMO. None of the guys are all-conference caliber, but they have significant depth with little drop-off between Zoubek, both Plumlees, and Thomas.
IMO, so long as Kyle Singler continues to play well, Duke is going to be a very tough out for any team.Comment

I'm getting pretty sick and tired of Brian Zoubek being referred to as a quality player and how he has improved so much
I mean, come on. If he wasn't on Duke, would anybody bat an eyelash? JFC.Comment

If Miles and Mason play the way they did in the ACC tournament, our chances increase significantly.Comment

Re: Selection Sunday Thread
What was up with the messed up seeding in this year's bracket? There were teams seeded WAY to low and WAY to high. It seems that they selection committee went out of their way to make geographic connections for teams with the purpose of ensuring good ticket sales.
Anyone else peeved at the seeding?Comment

A 4 seed for UMD? I'll take it. Not gonna underestimate Houston because depending on which MD team shows up or more importantly which Vasquez shows up, then they have a very good chance of pulling an upset.
Oh and talent don't mean a damn thing once the NCAAs start.#RespectTheCultureComment

It did for Ohio State. And Kansas. And Memphis. And North Carolina. And Florida. And Duke, but in the opposite way. Overall, talent seems to matter quite a bit.A 4 seed for UMD? I'll take it. Re: Selection Sunday Thread
Be fair. In comparison to how he was in previous years, he doesn't suck. He can actually move now for one thing; prior to this year he was an awkward stiff out there. Further, he's a good-not-great defender, a pretty good rebounder, and he's a fairly intelligent player to boot. Not much of a contributor on offense at just over 5 PPG, but he doesn't need to be on that team.Comment

He's not great or anything, but he's a very solid stiff. He's not going to do anything great, but since Duke needs a big man on the floor, they could stand to do a whole lot worse than Zoo.Comment
