Re: NBA 2K16 Teach Me How/Strategy Thread
I just thought of a theory. What if the reason Stephen Curry doesn't shoot as much is because he has the low ego badge instead of all time great? The description for getting it in my career is to divide your fga by assist or something like that. If you had more assist you get low ego, but if you have more fga you get all time great.

Yea I doubt somebody would ever be able to get him to play exactly like him, but this might help him be more aggressive.

How do I generally play the game? What are some general tips and tricks. I have been away from the game for so long.

If you have some more specific questions I could try to help you. The best advice I can give you is go to YouTube and search for Sam Pham and watch his tutorials. He's covered everything on both sides of the ball, and it will definitely help accelerate your learning curve. Also Da Czar is great too, but his videos are more catered to learning specific offenses.
My one personal piece of advice to anyone would be, go into practice with the team you want to use and learn their shots and moves. Then go into scrimmage mode with your team and turn play vision on show all instead of lite. From there you can learn your teams base offensive set, as you'll be able to see all the play branches. What I like to do is just run plays without shooting, since there is no shot clock you can just run plays completely and then back out and start again with a different play, that way your learning where the ball needs to go.

Re: NBA 2K16 Teach Me How/Strategy Thread
I've been using the Miami Heat's playbook since NBA 2K14 and Punch 15 Motion Give is one my favorite plays to run this year because of how many different ways it gives you to score in a single possession:
<iframe width="540" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/WU1MXHQyZVw" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Option #1 -- Top of the key standing three pointer
Option #2 -- Top of the key drive to the basket
Option #3 -- Wing cuts to the basket after backscreen from point guard
Option #4 -- Point guard pops out for three pointer after setting backscreen
Option #5 -- Wing three pointer after coming off downscreen
Option #6 -- Swing the ball after downscreen for easy post entry
Option #7 -- Pick and roll with shooting guard after downscreen
Option #8 -- Pick and fade with shooting guard after downscreen
The final option in the play is supposed to be a handoff between the shooting guard and center, but I find that a pick and roll/fade is a much quicker and much more effective move to execute at that branch point.Comment

Re: NBA 2K16 Teach Me How/Strategy Thread
Another versatile motion play from the Miami Heat playbook that lets you pick from 7 different scoring options in a single possession:
Iso 13 Motion
<iframe width="540" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/mFLdNsIU2N4" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Option #1 -- Point guard posting up on near side block
Option #2 -- Top of the key standing three point shot
Option #3 -- Wing cuts to the basket after backscreen from point guard
Option #4 -- Point guard pops out for jump shot after setting backscreen
Option #5 -- Pick and roll/fade with point guard if jump shot isn't open
Option #6 -- Top of the key sets screen for point guard after passing to the weak side wing
Option #7 -- Weak side post entry pass is available if point guard can't get open
This one is great to run with point guards who can post up like Russell Westbrook, Gary Payton, Deron Williams, Jrue Holiday, Shaun Livingston, et al. since that's the first option in the play. You can feast on Warriors users with just that first option because Stephen Curry can't defend the post very well. If your opponent starts double teaming the post then you'll have shooters spread out across the floor for wide open three point shots.Comment

Re: NBA 2K16 Teach Me How/Strategy Thread
Part three of the Miami Heat playbook guide covers Fist 1 Swing, which contains multiple scoring options for all five offensive players:
<iframe width="540" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/ZOlmvmbhbAU" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Option #1 -- Strong side post entry pass
Option #2 -- Top of the key standing three pointer
Option #3 -- Top of the key drive to the basket
Option #4 -- Wing backdoor cut to the basket
Option #5 -- Give handoff back to the point guard
Option #6 -- Swing ball to weak side for post entry pass
Option #7 -- Swing ball to weak side & point guard comes off screen for shot
Option #8 -- Pick & roll/fade after point guard comes off screen if shot's covered
Option #9 -- Hold the ball on wing & screener comes over for pick & roll/fade
Option #10 -- While holding the ball on wing shooting guard also comes off downscreen for a shot
Option #11 -- If shooting guard isn't open, pass back to point guard for shot off a flare screen
Option #12 -- If point guard can't shoot off flare screen, run pick & roll/fade with big man
There are so many different ways to run Fist 1 Swing that you could literally call this set the entire game and still keep the defense off-balance and unable to predict what's coming next.Comment
