If you're on the break make sure the angle is good. I try to avoid throwing any alley in a straight line with the recipient. It's a horrible angle in real life, and it fails more often then not in game. Also, try throwing them out of a lay up. Use the lay up gather to draw the defender in, and alley out of it (Fun fact, you can MURDER squads on the park with this trick. No one throws them out of lay ups).
Thanks a lot for your reply! I never try to throw oops from straight behind, I usually attempt them in transistion just as the wingman cuts towards the basket (from the other side), and of course from pick-n-rolls. As I only play offline, I won't be able to murder anybody in the park, but I'll try your technique (if I understand correctly what you said).

But my main problem isn't that the angle isn't good (or so I think, and the game should throw them anyway, shouldn't it), it's the alley-oop pass not triggering at all. When I try a self alley, my player passes backwards. When I try to oop a big defended by a guard, I throw a regular pass which of course is intercepted easily. Or way, WAY too high.

The funny thing is when watching oops in the NBA, I often think: that would NEVER work in 2K16!

    But I appreciate your help!

Ahhh! I'll have to try that. Thanks!

....are you possibly not double tapping the button quick enough for the alley to the big?

The self alley you have to hold towards the rim for, but I can usually pull it off no problem. Sucks this is the internet, because thus sounds like something I'd be able to easily assess the problem in the same room, but it's hard to figure out on a message board

I don't know, I've tap what I would call quick, even spamming. I tap fast enough for flashy passes, but I wouldn't say I'm lightning quick. Damn, 2K should put a slider on it if that's the case! :-) I hold the stick towards the rim for the self alleys, and I've gotten them to trigger once in a while, but never into a career (just in the beginning).

But I'll try to experiment with it to see if speed is indeed the problem.

          Thanks again!

ViolenceFight: Seriously man, I've tried double-tapping fast many times before, and never gotten consistent with it. Now I have to think about it, and may not be as fast as I believed. But it works!

You have officially saved the game for me, this makes up for a lot (but nowhere near all) of the mode's shortcomings, as long as I have my silver shoes and can throw alley-oops.

            Thank you very much!

Can anyone tell me how to beat the warriors. I can beat every team in the league but them. No matter what I do or adjustments i make. Curry and co. seem to always make crazy shots and stuff on me. Its ridiculous how it seems the game makes them win.

Yo everybody, I am currently playing against the nba all stars, the number 1 ranked team in Domination and im struggling BIG time playing defense !! It seems as if its impossible to guard the comp when he decides to drive.. always results in me fouling him .. Looking for some tips on how to avoid this .. maybe a button I need to press at a certain time i dunno .. thanks in advance.

Found out yesterday that you can switch the receiver before the ball is inbounded in an out of bounds play by pressing square. Much quicker and more reliable than using icon passing. Now if only there was a consistent way of calling an out of bounds play...

Can someone teach me how to pick up a loose ball? I've gotten 3 deflections/pokes in a single half and it has cost me 8 points. The offensive player picks the ball up every time no matter how close I am to the ball.
