oh vs human ... cant comment as i dont play much online. i suppose u can try smother on him and limit transition, then perhaps yor bigs would forgo offensive rebounding and run back on defense. another way to counter is every shot after u release, control yor SF turbo back for defense (or whoever nearest).

u are right, transition D a real problem this year. i got burnt by the heat in HOF, with my bigman keep losing track of bosh and he just so wide open for 3 at the top of the key. i might switch to perimeter defense the next time i play the heat again in HOF.

To supplement my above complaints about the D. Here are a few examples from a game I was in today, almost in back to back possessions:

I don't know what I'm supposed to do here? I have my POEs set at Limit Transition/ Protect the Paint. This is the transition cheese at its finest. Yes Garnett is 80 years old but it's not even like Griffin is sprinting hard, a veteran like Garnett should have been programmed to have better defensive IQ to simply know to stick to his assignment. The fact it happens both times off dead balls makes it more laughable. This is even worse with a big like Anthony Davis whose speed is exorbitantly high. I could have user'd Garnett to specifically make sure he's guarding his man but I shouldn't have to do something so basic. Next thing you know I'm gonna have to user all 5 players on the court at the same time...

this is crazy. i experienced once with this in HOF. after a missed shot, my Novak 'jogged' back on defense and stumbled at mid court (like didnt know where to go). the cpu nuggets opponent was already waiting in the paint for easy 2.

the HOF makes my players look 'stupid' on defense on many occassions. Kanters (and Adams) was fronting Faried with his back facing the nuggets point guard at the high post. Faried then free himself from him and sprint towards the paint and received a bullet pass to finish off at the rim. i was user controlling Westbrooks playing onball D on the point guard.

yes, we prob need to user control all 5 players to prevent this from happening (or perhaps the star players of the team). Lol!

More specifically, I'm looking to get my teammates to spot up from 3 or properly space the floor in transition. Not necessarily no-brainer 3on2, 2on1 situations where you have an easy decision but the quasi-fast breaks where you're still pushing the ball. My guards/SF's always all run/fill the lane and typically clog the paint if there's no angle lane for ball handler. Doesn't matter who it is, I signed Ray Allen off the scrap heap and if it's a 3on3 transition he'll still always cut to the hoop instead of spotting up, even if his defender is in the paint.

The only transition threes I can really get is when Porzingis is the trailer and I hit him at the top of the key. My guards and Melo have a very difficult time getting quick/transition threes. I have noticed that on the rare occasion when I do get an open look from deep in transition it rarely goes in. I've had several situations where a big transition three would really blow the roof off the arena but the shots never seem to fall.

Ideally the floor will be spread in transition so my PG can attack more and try to find open shooters. I've been using Houston's playbook recently with the Triangle as my freelance but it hasn't helped. Maybe I should try 4 Out, 1 In for my freelance. Any other ideas from people who are having success here?
Are you using directional passing? If so I believe you'll just hit the player in stride. So make sure you don't use that unless you want to attack the basket.

I use icon passing to whoever seems to be open enough for a clean look. When you're passing the ball, lead your player to where you want them to go.

If I'm running the fast break, the moment the player that I want to pass it to is open, I'll pass it using his icon while pressing the left stick in the direction I want him to go in. Usually, you'll get a wide open three, while your other player cuts to the basket, pulling the defense in.

You'll want to pass it to them as soon as they reach the perimeter, remember to use the icon passing while leading them to where you want them to go. Try to have some distance between yourself and the player, so the ball will be in the air a little while. Allowing your player to get all the way to the wing or corner which ever you prefer. Once the player gets the ball let them stop running on their own. Otherwise you'll shoot a moving three.

Sorry so long winded, but if this is what you want to do then you should be fine.

Am I the only one who can't do fadeaways? I use the same method from the umpteen past 2K games, but I always get a step-back. I also noticed that "Fadeaway" has been removed from the list of controls that show how to do different shots.

there's something i notice when running the triangle vs default in freelance offense. i'm using okc vs cpu. poe is impt and i use "shoot at will" and "run in transition". if u use something like "patient offense" and/or "crash defensive glass", yor teammates will stop running after midcourt and u are forced to run half court sets.

first of all, fast breaks are awesome. the pg, sg and sf running the breaks most of the time are able to score under the basket despite high occurance of blocks by cpu. and i'll dunk it most of the time. layups will cost me some blocks.

when two or more defenders are already ran back to the paint, i'll use icon pass and 'lead' my players away from the basket. this would prevent the defender from intercepting the pass. i'll then shoot at mid range or 3.

when i find 3 or more defenders running past half court, i stopped somewhere past mid court. now, in 2k15, the nearest bigman would automatically come over and screen. i'll use the screen and drive towards the paint. by then, the sg and sf are standing at the corners or wings getting ready for spotup 3s. this was very effective.

this year, the bigman wont screen for me. i'll have to call for a screen. same outcome, the sg and sf will wait somewhere for spotup. i tried using poe pick and roll but it wont work.

now if i run my freelance using default (i'm not sure which freelance offense okc is using, need to check czar's strategy post), the bigman will cone automatically to set a screen!

transition 3s are lesser for me this year. i'm still trying to master the stick skills to blow past the defender with the help of the screen.

I did some testing last night and it's 100% tied to your playbook. Nothing to do with freelance or POE, apparently.

I used Miami's playbook for one game and every transition chance I had, whether off a turnover where I have a big advantage or simply pushing the ball after a defensive rebound, and I had a shooter sprinting to each corner.

I switched back to the Knicks playbook and played a few minutes of my next game and it was back to the same old mess of everyone running to the rim and clogging the paint. Guess I need to ditch the Knicks playbook for good, at least I can still run the Triangle as my freelance system.

I don't know if this is the right thread to ask this question or not, or if it's been answered or not, but what camera angle do you guys find most fluid and easiest to execute passes on offense? I'm using 2K but the flip after a steal and rebounds seems really delayed, however it's what I'm used to and I'm nervous about trying something else.

Fully pressing the LT down, unless you're crowding a guy, is a death sentence.

When you feather the LT, you can TOTALLY control your guy on D, it's flipping awesome. The computer can still score on me if they have a favorable match up, but now they are working much harder for their points instead of just waltzing to rim on me.

I give this the highest recommendation.
Can't wait to try this later. This could be the reason why I feel like my on ball defender has concrete feet sometimes. I played earlier and players were driving by me with their first step. I never pay attention to the pressure I apply to the LT so now that I am aware there is a difference this could make a HUGE difference.

Explain "feathering"? Is that kind of tapping it occasionally and not holding it down? Or like holding it down half way? I also found that shading and using the right stick helps a lot as well. But man, I still can't get by the Jazz on my team. 4 tries later. Gordon Hayward is like friggin MJ lol
