Re: NBA 2K16 Teach Me How/Strategy Thread

Since the big's are pretty effective at defending the rim this year...don't forget to utilize your drop step on either side to throw them off....

Question: Anyone know how to do a euro step consistently for a button user?

Where can I find this info? I've tried googling but no luck.
Also, on the other end of the floor if you are controlling an off-the-ball defender the ring will turn red when you're responsible for rotating/help.

I don't think it's available via button on the default config, haven't checked the alternate ones. I'm messy with it on the LS, probably half the time I'm trying to execute a Eurostep I throw up a floater instead.

Re: NBA 2K16 Teach Me How/Strategy Thread

Is anyone consistently able to get transition threes? It appears that when running the Triangle I do have one secondary break action but it isn't always triggered, plus I'm looking to mix it up and not have the same exact action every time.

More specifically, I'm looking to get my teammates to spot up from 3 or properly space the floor in transition. Not necessarily no-brainer 3on2, 2on1 situations where you have an easy decision but the quasi-fast breaks where you're still pushing the ball. My guards/SF's always all run/fill the lane and typically clog the paint if there's no angle lane for ball handler. Doesn't matter who it is, I signed Ray Allen off the scrap heap and if it's a 3on3 transition he'll still always cut to the hoop instead of spotting up, even if his defender is in the paint.

The only transition threes I can really get is when Porzingis is the trailer and I hit him at the top of the key. My guards and Melo have a very difficult time getting quick/transition threes. I have noticed that on the rare occasion when I do get an open look from deep in transition it rarely goes in. I've had several situations where a big transition three would really blow the roof off the arena but the shots never seem to fall.

Ideally the floor will be spread in transition so my PG can attack more and try to find open shooters. I've been using Houston's playbook recently with the Triangle as my freelance but it hasn't helped. Maybe I should try 4 Out, 1 In for my freelance. Any other ideas from people who are having success here?

I get those light blue rings with certain players, but only on certain areas on the court. (I see them when moving with my PG from the left to the right.) Might be a combination of hot/cold zone+momentum.

Sometimes the ring only appears when under the basket, before/during a layup. If I do not shoot the ball, the ring will disappear when moving away from the basket.

It's going to be harder to get this going with the Knicks outside of Porzingis because the 3pt player tendencies across the roster are low. Fast break positioning is partly, I believe, shaped by your POE and by player tendencies, along with your selected base offense. Get Shooters Open helps a little, but there are not many shooters on the Knicks right now.

To max out transition 3 opportunities with the Knicks current roster, maybe try running with 4 out while Porzingis is on the floor, and set POI to Get Shooters Open, with either Run in Transition or Some Crash, Some Run as settings. These things taken together may get you more opportunities on the perimeter in transition, working in tandem with player tendencies.

I can say that in my MyLeague file with the Knicks, a few seasons in and with some shooters on the squad, I get good looks in transition for 3's. KP remains a beast coming to the 3 pt line lagging behind, but I also get nice corner or wing options from a 2 or a 3 player getting down court earlier in transition. That's just because of the personnel.

                              Good Question....

I've been playing with the Kings, Jazz, and Mavs. They have star power. But no players that are easy to play with. You need to know how they play in real life to play with them. And run their sets

Seconded. Also would like to mention Nuggets, even though they are weaker than all 3 teams you mentioned they are still a good lower tier team without any go to guy.
