Re: The Art Team Really Tanked This Year.

I feel like the graphics are some of the best I've seen for 2k mostly. I love the lighting..brings back 2k14 memories. I like the players scale compared to the court and overall I like most of players body and face appearances. There are some misses for sure with respect to a few courts, the noodle armed players (which the few there are hopefully get fixed in a roster update), and a few classics like Jordan not getting any love..but tons of new faces for classics, overall I'm happy minus the few that 2k should fix asap. Just add some muscle definition!

Definitely need to get a tweet campaign going at NBA players regarding the ridiculous skinny body models. Someone tweet Rudy Gobert his Gumby body model type, he looks like a complete pencil neck...

The graphics, the lighting and the face scans are just amazing. Easily the best looking 2K.

I wonder if the devs are aware, that we know there is only a select few body types in the game...

I know it's against the rules to say derogatory things about they devs, like calling them lazy and stupid stuff like that but...Copying and pasting tho...It's exactly what they did.

Giving the relatively skinny players, that high school body is just sad. The lack of muscle definition is horrific.

This was my biggest graphic and gameplay issue with the game and it is just about perfect now. This plus the cut down on animations on the perimeter have done wonders for spacing.

Re: The Art Team Really Tanked This Year.

After playing for one night, I have to say this. We NEED an organized campaign to atleast make sure that 2K is aware how badly the community at large is disappointed with the player model decisions. The wire framed child model is EVERYWHERE. Nicolas Batum and Cody Zeller on Charlotte for example, two guys who it really doesn't make sense to change into little fellas, are now that. It looks so bad and takes away from an otherwise terrific looking game.

I don't know if 2K will address this or not, but we need to at-least try to get an answer or some clarification on the deal. Now I know some people say we aren't owed that communication, and they're right. No one owes the people who bought the game anything except support throughout the season. But 2K has typically been a very responsive company and reasonable when it comes to criticism in my experience.

The child-like player models for some of the grown NBA players has to be at the forefront of the issues we speak out about this year. It's detracting so much enjoyment from the game that I don't even want to play. I'm not hung up on graphics as much as some others are, but these player models that were introduced are just ... there has to be a reason for this. It can't be a stylized design choice. It has to be a game-play necessity (animations, spacing?), otherwise it needs to be filed as a bug and fixed..

Me personally the only eyesore is the noodle armed high school body type given to so many players this year

the art is almost on NBA Live level. Can't wait till 18 comes out, glad I'm skipping this one.

That's an awfully long wait. Hopefully we see some sort of fix for NBA 2K17.

The thing about the art is that the textures all look fine (good enough for me anyway), but everything just looks very digital. Visually it's very pretty and everything (the newest player faces look good), but the suspension of belief is definitely there. It definitely looks like a video game rather than an authentic broadcast.
I suggest some sort of cinematic filter on it to make it look like it's a broadcast!
Needs a bit of blur, or sliiiight movement trails.
Right now it's very digital looking

The body types were perfect in 2016, why would they do this?

Me too, first time i canceled my preorder and waiting to see how 2k18 does. Wont keep on supporting a company that clearly care only about VC. Those body types are ugly!

Some are bad. Some are not. Player models don't make or break a game. Gameplay does.

i see some guys that just love the new graphics and players models and some that really hates them

                              few questions
                              - How bad are they ? - i don't mean on specific players, more like in general ?
                              - How bad\good the player models for create a player ?
                              - What can you adjust in all the players to make the play models look and feel better ? change their weight for example ?

Because people were saying how the players needed to be skinnier.

                                Well, they did it.
