Re: The Art Team Really Tanked This Year.
Wall of text incoming:
I'd be willing to wait until next year to see them fix this only if they rehaul how they design bodies.
Like, an entirely new system that has anatomically correct bone structure with muscles and skin over the top of it.
Examples:
Spoiler
Once this is in place, you allow us to change things like the body fat % (lean and ripped vs no definition) and the size of individual muscle groups with sliders. You'd already have the proper human anatomy as your basis.
Currently it seems like the way bodies are depicted is that an artist just made an approximation or rough estimate of a human body and didn't use actual anatomy as a guideline.
Which is cool for fantasy games but not so much for what is supposed to be the most realistic NBA sim on the market.
This results in the bodies being in the uncanny valley which is why it's so unsettling to look at sometimes.
For those who don't know what the uncanny valley is:
Basically the human brain can subconsciously tell when something that isn't human is trying to be human and it weirds us out. The better job something does of convincing us it's human, the less creeped out we become.
But if 2K was to implement a similar system they wouldn't even have to do full body scans of every player. You should be able to get relatively close just using the human anatomy as is with adjustable sliders.
Give us this tool for CAP, and let 2K adjust and tweak the NBA players on their end. They can fix body inaccuracies via patch this way too.Comment

Re: The Art Team Really Tanked This Year.
Fixing the bodies once and for all needs to be a focus for 2K18. Haha it's really flattened my 2K17 excitement I'm finding.
The mood over in the Momentous trailer thread is stale-negative. Sizzle is OUT, gen 4 graphics are now the norm.
Muscle def, lean players etc. And I think jerseys need creases to make them look like they have more air in them and less "beef" haha. Madden does a good job of this.Comment

Just give everyone the WWE Cap system and call it a day. That's the only answer , then we can stop hearing about this on every threadComment

Re: The Art Team Really Tanked This Year.
For the most part, I agree. Yeah, there are some that make me think, "Well, that's clearly not right" such as Giannis, Steph, and KD. (As those are the most obvious). But honestly it seems like everyone complaining about body types is complaining about 1 specific body type.Comment

Re: The Art Team Really Tanked This Year.
The bucks did use that darker style of wood back in 2015. 2K updated the center court logo and baseline logo but kept the same darker wood to light wood contrast on the main court. That should've been changed. Minor detail but it sticks out, especially if you are a bucks fan.
Here's a video of the court in 2015.

I could be totally wrong, but there has been very vocal feedback about that body type.Comment

Re: The Art Team Really Tanked This Year.
My only big gripe is non MyPlayer CAPs have seen no change in regards to body types. Maybe it's something in the body or ui tech that doesn't let them.
Somewhat disappointing to users like myself who play myLeague almost exclusively.HELLO BROOKYLN.

Myplayers all have the same body as well, you can't have a skinny / fat Myplayer regardless of weight.Comment
