Ok guys, i've warmed up to the idea of Okafor coming to the Celtics.

With that being said, what do y'all think is the most realistic trade the Celtics could pull off that does NOT require them to give up Jaylen Brown as part of the deal?

Looking forward to hearing from you guys!

But since you did overpay for the guy, pretty drastically by the way and the Heat can just trade Lopez away, its alright? I guess? Not really...Remove Lopez from the deal and its better, but it screw you over financially long term, and I doubt the deal can be done without his contract.

If it weren't for Mirotic and Mcdermott being on contract years the trade for Gordon wouldn't be that surprising. The magic need offense, and those two are shooters that bring floor spacing, exactly what they need. However, it also really backlogs their front court. Mirotic can only play the SF sparingly if at all, and McDermott is better as a stretch four due to his liabilities on the defensive end. Probably would try to trade Mirotic to another team and then deal whatever you get in return to the Magic, preferably a SG that is a spot up shooter.

Thanks for the reply, yea I had no idea they would accept when I made the offer, on a side note, was the ratings changed recently? I offered kings 3 2nd round picks for WCS and they took it with no counter offer, looked at his stats and in 48 game he hasn't played lol 2k is odd sometimes lol

Maybe smart and a 1st down the line? Grizzlies or Clippers 1st rounders that they have? This is a hard trade sense it seems more like Noel being the odd man out of Philly and I think they'd like to keep Okafor. Embiid is athletic enough, stretches the floor enough where they can play sparingly together, and I'd expect Okafor to take essential the same role that kanter has in OKC. Really the best trade would be Noel for Smart straight up, both are defensive minded guys that are basically liabilities on the offensive end. Just one team needs a defensive big, and the other needs a guard period. If you want Okafor though philly probably wants more then just Smart. A 1st rounder down the line doesn't sound bad, but its likely Philly wants to gear towards winning now and a future 1st doesn't really help that.

I'd look into adding a third team and another asset to give to the sixers through them. Maybe try to package a deal that would send Ross from the Raptors to the Sixers for Amir Johnson and another asset. Raptors probably feel safe going forward with Powell taking more minutes as the backup SG and could use another defensive minded big. Also frees up cap space to extend lowry in the off-season if they want to keep their core together. Horford can move to PF with Okafor moving to the starting lineup. can still play small ball with the loss of Smart due to Rozier or Brown playing more minutes.

Re: NBA 2K17 Trade Discussion Thread

I am playing a 29 game season with the OKC Thunder with a BO7 playoffs. The Thunder currently sit at 7-5 with a month and a half before the trade deadline. I pulled off a trade with the Bulls a couple games into the season by trading Anthony Morrow and Josh Huestis for Doug McDermott and R.J. Hunter. My goal before the deadline is to acquire the best player available from a losing team. The Kings are already a dumpster fire and I have attempted to get Rudy Gay but they have been asking for way too much however when I went to the trade finder yesterday they wanted Cameron Payne (who has played well) and 2 2nd rounders (OKC and BOS) for Rudy.

First of all, is this a fair trade for both teams considering Rudy can opt out of his contract at seasons end?

Secondly, while I would like to improve at SF where I currently start Andre Roberson, I have also thought of improving at SG and have Oladipo be my 6th man and combo guard off the bench. Westbrook is untouchable of course and I do not want to trade Stephen Adams or Oladipo either. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

What kind of deal would get Noel over to an expansion team? I'm thinking of maybe doing a deadline deal for him.

I drafted mostly younger players, all under 25-26, and will obviously have high draft picks.

He isn't worth a first rounder from an expansion team assuming they will all be top 3-5 picks for a couple years, but would a couple seconds (picks would be in the 31-35 range) and a solid young guard or two get the job done possibly?

Maybe like Langston Galloway (my starting PG averaging 15 and 5), Aaron Harrison (he's my 6th man and is averaging about 10 ppg), and two second rounders (again, assuming they're very early second rounders)?

Just thinking up deals and looked at the Pelicans. Tyreke Evans to the Spurs, (signs extension before the trade). Spurs trade Danny green and an unprotected 1st (2017) for Evans...

Pelicans are out of the playoffs and no idea how Evans feels about staying there. Evans becomes the Ginobli of the future, 6th man that can handle the ball and run the offense off the bench. Pelicans get a 3 and D guy that they could use at the two and help space the floor around Davis...They also have to resign Holiday as well so its likely the lose Evans this off-season any way.

Spurs: Trade Green + 2017 unprotected-will be late round, as they are playoff bound
              Receive: Tyreke Evans
              Pelicans: Trade Evans
              Receive: Green +2017 spurs picks
I feel Green gives the Spurs exactly what they need from their SG - shooting and defense. Not even taking into account Tyreke's injury history I think that Green is a better player than Evans... and I'm a Tyreke fan. Take into account that injury history and their contracts (although I know you said you would resign, but it depends on what for because Green is actually pretty cheap) and in my opinion it's still a no from SA. I agree that Reke would be a good future replacement for Manu, but I just don't think worth Green and picks.

Smart and Noel are pretty close in value, in my opinion, but I would throw in one of those future 1st from the Grizz or Clippers just to sweeten the deal for them. You can spare a few picks anyway.

It's going to take more than that to get Noel. In my opinion, Noel is worth at least a mid-1st Round pick. You can do protected 1st in order to protect yourself from losing a high draft pick. Assuming Philly still needs a SG, then Galloway and a Top 10 protected 1st should work.

not really to be honest. Compared to those guys, I'd think the sixers would rather get a 1st, from like the raptors or celtics, and a shooter that is under contract. There are plenty of PGs showing up in free agency next year and this draft, so I'd believe they would rather try to get a pure SG, neither of those two are that, and a higher pick. Noel is a restricted free agent and they have a lot of cap, so they have leverage even if he tries to walk next summer. They could sign and trade him to a team this upcoming free agency if a deal doesn't get done.

Alright, ya I agree. Really was just trying to get a deal done for the deadline and it seemed like a decent Idea. Green's 3 and D would be perfect for the Spurs, but I was thinking with Green's contract, albeit cheap they wouldn't be able to get Evans who, although a traditionally worse shooter the manu, has a very similar play style i think.

I'm currently in offseason of the first year, haven't made any trades, my record is 42-40, i ended up 9th in the west and missed out on playoffs this year. I'm thinking of making a trade because some of the guys are getting old and i would like to bring in someone else, not necessarily really young players. Also i'm thinking of singing Noel in free agency. Do you guys have any suggestions who could i trade for, and what would you do at this point?

Snagging Noel is a good idea, but if you can't get him it depends on your play style. Personally I love having an athletic 3 that can also hit some 3s. I can't think of anyone in particular at the moment but just find a guy with good speed and shooting. Another athletic guy with Russell, Clarkson, Randle, Nance could be pretty nasty.

My biggest concern right now is to drop one of the big contracts either Deng's or Mozgov's, don't actually know what could i get for one of them. Don't know if Lakers would trade one of them also. I'm trying to keep it realistic aswell.

I could see the Lakers trading Deng, but I wouldn't expect much in return as he's probably like 8th-9th man on a top tier team, which is about all that would want him probably. You might be stuck with Mosgov.

Once I'm home tonight I'll check out the rosters and try to think of something.
