Re: NBA 2K17 Trade Discussion Thread
So I think I found a good deal for both teams...
Celtics Receive: Jusuf Nurkic, Will Barton
Nuggets Receive: Tyler Zeller, Demetrius Jackson, James Young, 2017 Cavaliers 2nd Round Pick
The Celtics get their true defensive center and a wing scorer, while only giving up spare parts. The Nuggets get a young point guard on an affordable contract that they can develop into a decent backup, and an affordable backup center.
I was going to go with Gary Harris, but that seems to unrealistic because the Nuggets I believe view him as a building piece?
Too little? Too much? Good? Thoughts?

I would definitely add in a non-Nets 1st rounder and try to give the Nuggets at least one decent player back -- Zeller, Young, or Jackson are all end-of-bench guys in my view, not players you'd want to have consistent rotation minutes.
Maybe Rozier and Zeller, plus a non-Nets 1st for Nurkic/Barton?Comment

NBA 2K17 Trade Discussion Thread
5-3 in my Heat GM. I might go the full 82 with this one, hopefully. I'm not playing with the Heat roster as is. I didn't start in the offseason but I did grab Wade from the Bulls before the season started as if he stayed. Tyler Johnson is on the Nets, Allen Crabbe is on the Bulls (Jose Calderon & Mike Dunleavy still there as well), & hmmm I can't quite remember any other moves I did before starting MyGM. I'm not on my system right now. Should be relatively smaller moves though. Ones that possibly would have been done had Wade stayed in Miami & ones that were in place (Calderon, Dunleavy) before he committed to the Bulls.
I did manage to keep James Johnson & Luke Babbitt from the moves that were made this latest offseason. I really like what Johnson brings to the team, hoping we keep him in real life. I know he may demand a bit this coming offseason though.
Got rid of Heat Lifer McRoberts too haha I know moving his contract was one of the obstacles, although not the only, to keeping Wade. Also, Bosh is at full health!! Having a great season so far.
I can kind of see me simming a season with the current Heat team once I see what happens with Dragic by the trade deadline but otherwise this will be the season I'm running.
With that out of the way here is my roster & what I'm looking for.
As much as I favor Winslow in real life I just can't utilize him to the best of his abilities....or I could be asking for too much at the moment. I feel as if I need more scoring on the wing. It's lacking when Wade is on the bench & Richardson isn't having a good game. Maybe I just need another scorer off the bench. Maybe a 3 point shooter. I'm actually lacking that more than anything. This season was started right before the Korver to Cavs move. Maybe I make it myself? Hawks are 1-8 but it is early.
I'm debating on whether Winslow's defense has been a game changer so far or if it's just my team defense, which has been very good. I'm sort of hesitant to trade what is my best perimeter defender.
So if there is possibly an undeniable trade out there that someone can suggest, I'm all ears. I usually wait until teams start putting players on the trading block & look to trade for those players but I'm entertaining the idea of pulling the trigger early.
Likely will pickup Chalmers in free agency but still keep the backup PG's I have. I like the variety & I don't know, I just like those players. I'm really holding on to the past with this roster so yeah, even Haslem & Wright get minutes. Not much, but they see the floor from time to time.

Re: NBA 2K17 Trade Discussion Thread
So I have started a new MyLeague with my Bulls (Start today) and wanted to do some trades first. I have looked a bit around and found this trade with the wolves:
Bulls get: Rubio and Muhammad
Wolves get: Rondo and Gibson
Is this good? I'm not so good in player compare because I'm from Europe and only watch Bulls games on YouTube.
And then I thought what I would get for the Kings Pick and this are the best two trade offer:
Bulls get: Whiteside
Heats get: Kings Pick and Canaan
Or
Bulls get: Robert and some second round pick (don't know the year)
Jazz get: Kings Pick and Canaan
Any tips which are good and which are bad? Some trade tips would be really great. For me, only Butler is untradeableComment

Re: NBA 2K17 Trade Discussion Thread
What would it take for the Celtics to land Lou Williams from the Lakers? I was thinking a first round pick for sure where he has two years left on a cheap deal. I also thought where Smart's shooting isn't where I want it, that I could do a one-for-one swap? But that still leaves me needing a wing scorer and the defensive center, so I came up with this...
Celtics Receive: Lou Williams, Nick Young, Jusuf Nurkic
Lakers Receive: Marcus Smart, James Young, 2019 Clippers Lottery Protected 1st Round Pick
Nuggets Receive: Tyler Zeller, 2018 Celtics Top 5 Protected 1st Round Pick, 2017 T-Wolves 2nd Round Pick
Thoughts? I want to be as fair as possible with any deal.Boston Red Sox New England Patriots Boston Celtics Boston BruinsComment

I think you could send the Lakers a 2017 1st rounder (since they're likely to convey theirs to Philly this season), and send them James Young for Lou Williams. If you want Nick Young, too, send them a pair of 2nds and call it a day -- Williams and Young together aren't worth Smart, IMO.
I like the Denver deal fine -- Nurkic is worth a 1st and a prospect, plus a 2nd in my view.Comment

Re: NBA 2K17 Trade Discussion Thread
So I ended up making the deal to get Ibaka from Orlando. Gave up Zeller, Jerebko, LAC lottery protect 1st and Memphis protected 1st for Ibaka. Zeller and jerebko are expiring contracts to fill in this year and it's basically 2 firsts for Ibaka. Zeller they could pick up again next year with the team option if they like him.
Something interesting came up on my social media feed. It mentioned the Pacers were selling and they are listening to offers for George. I likely wouldn't make any more moves for a month and feel like I will stand pat but what would Boston have to give for George?
I figure it would start with the Nets 1st this year, Crowder, Amir and maybe another player or pick? Crowded is 13 mil cheaper and Amir is expiring so would be nice for a pacers team rebuilding plus that nets pick is very valuable. Would I be on the right track here?
Thanks!

Re: NBA 2K17 Trade Discussion Thread
Was looking at adding an Wing that can shoot 3s and is semi decent on Defense so looking at doing this
PHI Recieve
Wes Matthews
DAL Recieve
Nik Stauskas
2018 Top 5 Protected 1st Rd
Sixers get an experienced 2 Guard and another shooter to put around the team an semi decent defender and the Mavs will get an younger prospect at the 2 Guard and move the Matthews Contract off the books plus get an guaranteed top 15 pick. Is this fair for both sides and make sense?NBA:Philadelphia 76ers

I don't really like either trade for the Kings pick. Most teams aren't going to trade a very good defensive center's without getting an equally important player back. And they're certainly not going to trade them for unknown rookie who they hope will become as good as them. Especially, if that pick may not be conveyed due to draft protections.

Either way, there's too much chance that goes along with the draft, so I don't really think that Indiana trades him unless they know they have a surefire top 1 or 2 pick in return. Even then a package of either Bradley or Smart and Crowder or Brown and even the Brooklyn 18 pick would be what it takes. I just don't think a trade like that happens mid-season though. The lottery is too much of a crapshoot and there's too much risk involved.

Just curious as well what would be realistic returns for Noel and Okafor I feel like with both it depends on Situation where I would get an nice return e.g. Noel to the Blazers, Okafor???? (Don't know any team that wants an defensive challenged Center) Realistically what could i expect for those two? Draft Picks,Players Had an top 2-3 for both based on need and was curious for any input.

Re: NBA 2K17 Trade Discussion Thread
That was my line of thinking as well would fit in perfect with that roster given they really lack an Wing that can defend well and Matthews fits the bill. I was gonna go for top 10 protected but wasn't sure if it would not be enough for Dallas since there in full rebuild with the worst record in the league.

I feel like the Celtics would only swing for Noel if they can get him on the cheap -- IE, not conveying a high 1st or giving away a player they value all that much. Though Noel would definitely allow Horford to move to PF, I don't think Noel would be sold off by Philly as low as the Celtics would want, he's not a player worth multiple 1sts from Boston's warchest in my opinion.
Portland, however, is another story entirely -- they really, really need a defensive big man fast enough to guard on the perimeter and guard inside as well. Ezeli was theoretically supposed to be that guy, but he looks done for the year and the Blazer defense is abysmal. Considering they need to keep Lillard happy (and maybe breakup him and McCollumn at some point), Noel would solve quite a few issues.
I figure trading him to Portland for a 2018, top3 or 5 protected 1st, plus Miles Plumlee and maybe Patrick Conington (whatever his name is, white guard who can shoot and is sneaky good in 2K, IMO) would be enough to get them. If you don't want Plumlee or Conington, then have Portland send you their 2017 1st this year (top-3 protected, max) and a future extra 1st if they have it (or some 2nds).
Okafor is a harder fit -- dude is a center, but is defensively challenged; his problems are correctable (footwork/effort are his main issues in my view), and he's a low-post star, but fewer teams play that way. He's dependent entirely on fit and considering how (shockingly) low his value is, getting a mid-to-late 1st rounder is probably the best case scenario.
The Wizards aren't a bad place for him, but Washington has really little to offer and they traded their pick last year for Markieff Morris, who is so-so with them ... don't think they trade back-to-back picks for bigs, especially with Gortat and Mahinmi on the roster sucking up cap space. I'd avoid them.
The Suns are interesting, but again have a platoon of centers -- notably Tyson Chandler (sucking cap space) and the disappointing Alex Len (who still hasn't developed as much as he should have, but will likely command a salary of 10M+ when he hits RFA). I could see Phoenix giving up on Len and swapping him for Okafor, plus a heavily protected future 1st, but I don't know if that moves the needle for you. Okafor, at the very least, would benefit being tutored defensively by Chandler and playing in a Western Conference that lacks defensive big-men to really slow him down.
I would look heavily at Dallas, though -- the Mavericks have Dirk, true, but he's on the edge of retirement and their roster is empty of young, developing players who could be future All-Stars. I'd swap Okafor for Justin Anderson (good SF prospect who could roll as a SG if you need him to be), plus a decently protected future 1st -- Dallas is likely to be bad once Dirk retires, but the Mavs have never been known to develop rookies well; trading for Okafor would be a risk I could see Cuban taking to avoid the dregs of being a losing team.Comment
