Re: Post patch sliders and shooting %

1 quarter of HOF, I'm Lakers, CPU is Cavs. Running 4 out 1 in P&R sets with Russell and Mozgov whole quarter, until the cpu auto double team kicks in on the perimeter. The Cavs' numbers aren't even that concerning to me, my defense was admittedly poor. It's the ridiculous ease I can score on HOF against a good team that irks me.

EDIT: To some extent this has been an issue in every iteration of the 2k; running P&R's against the cpu with a 4 out 1 in set. It's more severe currently than ever, though.

This year's hall of fame could have the best gameplay ever (it actually had a couple of days ago). It's a fair challenge with great variety (i've lost games by 20 and won by 20 or even 30 with ACE).

The overal balance could be good with realistic shooting percentages. At that point to me the game only would need walking abimation by the CPU and a different pace. But it's something they could easly fix with patches and ACE adjustments (right now even the slower teams are not that slow).

Basically, no team has an identity - they all play like the Golden State Warriors.

This was an issue even pre-patch. at least offline. The CPU defense is just bad, period - and when they do manage to play well, contested shots drop in at a high rate. Sliders will not fix some of the things I've seen on the defensive end. We need to keep this issue known, instead of trying to Band-Aid it.

I loaded up the Warriors vs. 76ers, with me as player lock, and both teams were shooting mid 50s. You can watch a CPU vs. CPU game to see how laughably bad the defense AI is. Again, when they do play well, and they do at times, contested shots ruin it.

Why did they take away team play styles?? (Shoot At Will, Play Trough Superstar etc)

I finished the game i left on rest mode. This is what i'm talking about. I play on HOF with ACE and automatic playcalling. I didn't see any kind of cheese, the final score difference is realistic. The only numbers that are no good to me are scores, percentages and time of possession (considering it was played slow pace, i walked the ball up court a lot, if i hadn't it would have been in the 120s)

This is the average game i'm having

A pro set in sliders. I was getting killed until I started playing attention to defense more. I rather play SS or HOF, but teams don't miss.

This is just version 1. i am testing them throughout a Franchise so ill be updating them daily. They give me a good game so far on pro though CPU fights for rebounds and makes the shots when open

I'm playing on HOF ace settings
CPU Def Awareness cranked up to 95 while my offensive awareness is at 65 and I'm able to still put up 92 points in 8 min quarters with an expansion team of players who don't have one guy over 76 overall...
All because the defensive rotations are broken for CPU and they keep doing the double teaming of players all the way at half court, combined with the fact that avg to below avg shooters (norman powell, dejounte murray) can get green releases on jump shots 6/10 times.

Czar said you don't have to have patch come out to update ACE, it can be done like a roster update so no excuse why this can't be fixed within next few days. Sadly, according to Czar he added 100 new plays and updated the ACE offense in the last update but OG seems to not have made any adjustments to ACE defense for CPU yet...

There is nothing to do. I made a lot of tests but ended up with the conclusion that defensive awareness improves reads but it does not affect rotations. It only transforms players into cats able to steal the ball with unrealistic reaction times...

                          I held under 50

You must control the rotations and contest shots, but it's a lot of work

We're talking about CPU ace not User ACE. User defense ACE is just as bad but since you can user control players you can make up for their lapses. When playing against CPU, CPU ACE is making terrible defensive rotations that are something you would see watching a Jr. High basketball game. EX.) doubling with no help rotations, going under on screens of great shooters like curry,no rotations on pick and rolls, etc

Offense is easier to adjust. OG's work is harder but they could have made it easier with some implementation.

Personally i would like to see a switch button. It would add realism on p&r defense and it would be realistic (it would actually simulate the verbal comunication behind it)

The sad thing is that defensive ACE has never been effective. I've never seen an off ball switch in a crucial possession to stop shooters. The only visible impact was the full court pg press we saw from last year
