Re: Post patch sliders and shooting %
I'm going to upload a short clip where I show my settings and three straight possessions where the exact same thing happens starting the game. Given the quality of my internet, it should be done by 2025.Comment

Re: Post patch sliders and shooting %
Jazz just beat the Spurs 133-131. Jazz shot 57%.
If this is a sign of things to come when NBA tips off, Jazzman will be pleased.
I'll be putting 2k on the shelf until the problem is taken care of.Comment

Re: Post patch sliders and shooting %
I had to jump through several hoops since the Share feature on my PS4 wasn't working for me. I had to record my desktop with Nvidia Shadowplay while I streamed with PS4 Remote Play.
<iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/e79rHJzMTb8" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
While I only recorded three possesions, it kept happening for at least 3 quarters (I stopped playing the game afterwards) every time Lillard had the ball. I could've potentially shot 80%+ doing the same thing over and over again, and Lillard finishing with 0 points and 40+ assists. However, it seems to be a MyLeague bug that started after the game was patched as I can't recreate the same scenario on Play Now with the same settings and the same teams. I'll probably start a new MyLeague today to see how it goes.Comment

Re: Post patch sliders and shooting %
I'm here. Just trying to understand exactly what the issue is. Two things changed last night that would impact shooting %s:
1. Faster pass speeds from the patch which could lead to more open looks
2. OG made an ACE update to improve help defense.
The more descriptive you guys can be with what you're seeing, the quicker I can get the correct fix out to you guys. Right now I'm testing some re-tuned values for open FG%. Might be all we need but I want to be thorough.
Mike,
You're a class act for responding. Thank you.Comment

Re: Post patch sliders and shooting %
It's so weird how one or two tiny little changes can so drastically alter the game like this.
Physicality, pass speed and such increase, and suddenly players are wide open way too much.
A new coaching gameplan engine, and the CPU is sending out centers to double-team at halfcourt.
It really shows the high-wire balancing act 2K and VC go through every year, trying to constantly top themselves on delivering the most realistic basketball game ever made.
They COULD have gone the Charlie Sheen route and said to the complainers "I've already got your money, dude."
But no--we have Mike Wang right here, asking us for honest feedback, and doing his darnedest to implement what SimNation desires. (Even if Rachel Demita keeps pronouncing his name wrong.)
We forget just how lucky we are to have developers that so listen to us.
It helps that a lot of them (including Wang himself, I think) used to BE regulars here on OS, before getting hired by the company whose games they've enjoyed so much.
Seriously, Beluba, at the very least, thanks for trying.
You guys are really, really close to something amazing here.
But just as one letter can change the meaning of a sentence, one byte or so of code can drastically alter the feel of a game.Last edited by Trackball; 09-28-2016, 06:22 AM.Comment

Re: Post patch sliders and shooting %
Well said, track
Doing some more testing this morning, It seems that on higher difficulties, the success rate of making a shot increases exponentially for the user and cpu.
I tried playing on all star, but the shooting percentages and scores were still through the roof.
You go to superstar or hof, and something seems to be going on with ACE not working properly. (Head scratching assignments, double teams are too much, etc.)
The reason I say I don't think it's just sliders that can fix the shooting issue is, no matter how much I lower the sliders, shots are still going in at an alarming rate. Guys who have absolutely no business making 3 pointers are just draining them like they're Curry.
The dice rolls for made and missed shots seem to be entirely unbalanced. Way more yes than no.
If we could fix the double teams, ace match-up assignments and shot success rate, we could rate really improve the experience we're all having dramatically.
Mike, I know a simple slider adjustment helped us out big time before, but this seems to be a bit more than sliders right now.

Re: Post patch sliders and shooting %
The issue I'm seeing is defenders still just leaving there man wide open because they want to stand in the paint, or the completely opposite side of the court.
I'm constantly seeing my center leave the AI center wide open under the basket because they want to double team on the perimeter.
That's why I'm thinking this is an ACE issue with defense. Even so, not every open shot should have the success rate that it does. NBA players miss wide open shots, quite often actually, and that's not represented here.
Wide open shot success rate, and covered shot success rate seems to almost be the same, and that's not good. We're not being rewarded for playing good defense, which is evidenced by the many many last second shot contested fade away 3s the AI consistently makes.
Also, I've noticed AI offensive rebounding is a problem. When the AI wants to score on a possession, they will. They will warp through your players on a missed shot to secure an offensive board and easy put back. This happens way too often, and you can almost tell when it's going to happen, it seems so cheap.
Also like I said in my previous post, the dice roll for made to missed shots seems entirely too high, and it doesn't seem like ratings are playing too much of a factor when it comes to shooting.
I should also mention, I mainly play with real Player %, and the issue is just as noticeable. That's why I'm thinking ratings really aren't mattering when it comes to shooting.

Re: Post patch sliders and shooting %
I'm seeing good results from those numbers (not in terms of numbers and %s but in terms of feeling and reads)
+5 on defense awareness and consistency for both
Which would make hall of fame
Awarebess 55-70
Consistency 55-60
i think the only way to balance the game is boosting defensive IQs over offense. Make the general defense smarterComment
