Re: Post patch sliders and shooting %
I'm not complaining that I can't shot 65% from 3 anymore. If you think that's the point of my post, then read it again.Comment

Re: Post patch sliders and shooting %
I'm two games in, and the game seems to be playing better. I use player lock, so how the CPU plays is highly important to me, on both sides.
Knicks got destroyed by the Cavs in game one (Very satisfied.) 52% was the highest.
Nets are currently shooting 39%, and getting destroyed in game two (Happy.) Boston is shooting 50%.
I want the % to be realistic, and I want the good teams to separate themselves from the bad teams. Again, I'm only two games in, but this is the best I've seen the game play, so far. I'll be satisfied in a few more games - and if it continues, I'd like to never get another update again. Because, if I EVER see myself or the CPU shoot 65%, the game is going into the trash.
It's still not perfect, but you may have saved the game, Beluba. I'll keep from jumping for joy, though, until I get a few more games in. Thanks for listening, and for the quick update.Comment

Re: Post patch sliders and shooting %
I personally played on park today (lockdown defender 6'8 PF) with a sharpshooter and a shot creator - I did most of the work on defense and rebounding. They handled most of the offense. Went 7-0 until the sharpshooter got too cocky and started shooting in people's faces. His shooting % was realistic to me. So you can't just say - this happened to me so the game needs to change - it has to be a majority thing. The game changed because most people indeed felt the % was too high. I very much enjoyed those 7games BTW.

Re: Post patch sliders and shooting %
Just had my first game in my Fantasy Draft MyLeague with the new patch with 12 minute quarters on Hall of Fame difficulty. I'm initially very satisfied with the changes! I was after the last update as well, but let's hope everything remains the same after a bigger sample size.
In the 1st quarter, I was a little rusty since I didn't want to play until the half court double teaming issue was resolved and I had my worst shooting quarter I think I've ever had in a 2K game. Nothing felt out of place, I just wasn't running my offense very well and I was not being rewarded for taking bad shots. They did immediately double team Kawhi on the first possession when I put him in the post, but I am okay with that since he is one of the current top scorers in the league.
I did not see any of the crazy half court double teams throughout the entire game! These always seemed to start when I hit the 10 assist mark with Rubio (regardless of how many points I had with him). I ended the game with 12 assists with Rubio and they never came, so let's hope this was eliminated with the update.
Here are the shooting percentages on a quarter by quarter basis:
1st: User 29%, CPU 55%
2nd: User 65%, CPU 30%
3rd: User 48%, CPU 57%
4th: User 63%, CPU 21%!!!
Total: User 52%, CPU 41%
I felt like I was rewarded for playing good defense (2nd and 4th) and punished when I lost my focus (1st and 3rd).
My team is heavily defensively focused and the CPU Thunder in this game really didn't have any good shooters, so I am okay with these final numbers. They were outmatched in this game.
I didn't keep count, but I would guess I had about 7 or 8 green releases this game. All came on wide open shots though, so I am okay with this relatively high number.
I'll continue to test and let you guys know if I see anything that needs to be modified. Thanks again Mike!

Re: Post patch sliders and shooting %
Playing MyCareer as a center with the latest gameplay tuner and still getting double teamed in the post as soon as I touch the ball from the get go. Anyone else experiencing this? Otherwise love the new FG%.Comment

Re: Post patch sliders and shooting %
Hating that the shooting is super slow. You can't catch and shoot with quickness anymore. Everything is in slow motion. Liked the shooting out of the box as it was the best I ever felt shooting on a 2K game. That's my only complaint with the update.Comment

Re: Post patch sliders and shooting %
I would expect the NBA elite shooters to shoot 65% or better [ esp. on open to wide open looks ]in recreational Pro Am and Park games

Re: Post patch sliders and shooting %
My 76ers are currently shooting 41%.
Feels so good.
I'd like to decline any future updates (This is the first time I've had fun since getting the game.)Last edited by Nukleopatra; 10-01-2016, 12:48 AM.Comment

Re: Post patch sliders and shooting %
I am a 6'8" Sharpshooter SF and this update has been awful for me so far.
My FG% was 62% (65% from 3) in around 50 ProAm games before the patch. Today, I decided to play with my team and we lost because of me. I shot horribly from the field, making only 1 out of 13 shots. Three of those shots were contested (nearly blocked, at the end of shot clock/quarter), two of them were late close outs and the rest of my shots were wide open. I was so wide open that no one was even remotely close to me. However, I bricked them.
At the start of the game, my wide-open shots were graded either C- or C+. In the fourth quarter, D- was the best I could get.
Here is one of the shots I took late in the game...
As you can see, the release was almost perfect and there was NO ONE even close to me. However, this is how the shot was released...
Brick!
My team was 50-3, and we lost this game simply because of me. I couldn't hit shots at all, yet the only shot I made was a contested one. What the...?! Note that I have all 5 HoF badges, and 30ish other badges which sometimes help with my shooting, such as Pick and Popper.
Now, I understand that we, sharpshooters were nerfed. I didn't expect to have as much success hitting shots as before, but shooting 7.7% from the field is way too low, right?
Even before the patch, I couldn't do much against good defense. Yes, my shots from the deep range were falling, but if I was guarded really good, I'd take only a couple of shots a game, as I'd focus on passing to my teammates and getting them involved. As a defender, I was guarding sharpshooters many times and they never scored over 20 points on me. If they do drop 20, they would need 20+ shots to get there, which wasn't very efficient.
However, I do admit that we were overpowered and our range definitely needed a nerf. What I think was not necessary was the wide-open shot nerf. No one was making all wide open shots before the patch, but now the success rate is ridiculously low. Top NBA shooters don't shoot this bad when left all alone. Furthermore, let's not forget that this is also a video game in which we should be rewarded for making good decisions on the court and getting open shots.
People like me created sharpshooters because of a simple task: knocking down open shots. How are we supposed to be viable if we don't have any purpose anymore? I hope that 2K will look into this problem and make sharpshooters capable of making the majority of their wide open shots. We don't need them to be 100%, but 70% is just right if we are left all alone, with 90+ 3-point rating and HoF shooting badges.
If you released at the moment of the first screenshot and got very late, that's not the tuning update, that's the shot meter glitch. I watched a lot of twitch today and open 3's were falling at about the same rate as before which is what I'd expect from the tweaks. Sorry bro, but you're gonna have to power through until the patch drops. If you see the meter snapping like that, try and compensate by releasing your shot earlier than normal.Comment

Re: Post patch sliders and shooting %
OKC - 49%
76ers - 36%
Halftime.
My 76ers are playing like pure garbage. Just like they're supposed to. Before the update, they shot 57%, and beat the Golden State Warriors. I was ready to toss the game.
I'm 3 games in - 3 very satisfying games. A few more, and I'll vanish from the forums until next year (hopefully.)Comment

I love how Sixers users are saying it's realistic because they are shooting < 40%.Comment

Re: Post patch sliders and shooting %
I'm about to cry.
Good teams are scary again, and bad teams are garbage. Players seem to be playing to their ratings now, which is the one thing 2k has always managed to get right (Until pre-update 2k17.)
Great attackers do need to attack more, and the defense still does baffling things (not as often,) but I'd be happy never getting another update.Last edited by Nukleopatra; 10-01-2016, 01:12 AM.Comment
