Question...
How good are silver badges really in the grand scheme?⛹🏽💀

But then you have a badge like Free Throw Ace and Silver is good enough to not grind further. You can easily shoot over 90% with SilverComment

Even at Gold last year as a Center, I would still get overpowered by good to elite bigs. Pick Pocket should be alot better this year since we can actually steal.
There wasn't much benefit being a Defensive Primary that wasn't a big last year. Because it felt Rim Protector and Chase down were the only effective defensive badgesComment

I've decided to go with a 6'9 SF with primary as shot creating and secondary as driving and finishing. I get 2 hof, 7 gold, 9 silver, and 8 bronze badges. With this build I can pretty much do it all, handle the ball, shoot really good mid-range and decent three's. I have posterizer badge, limitless range, and deep range dead eye (to name a few). I feel like this is going to be the perfect build for what I want to do in the game and playing with my squad at the park.Comment

Re: Assuming archetypes are similar in 2k19, what you making?
In the Prelude I went with my take on a Detroit Pistons Dennis Rodman build, defending primary rebounding secondary PF: 6'8" default weight (225), slightly long wingspan (2 or 3 ticks over default).
It worked pretty well, I was able to shut players down 1 on 1,rebound and block.Enough length to guard taller players, enough strength to not be bullied, and enough foot speed to guard smaller players and make hustle plays.
I get pretty much all the badges I want on HoF or Gold, Silver Posterizer so I can at least hammer builds without Defense on putbacks.
He won't be the best shooter or ball handler; I'll gladly take the hit to attributes that weren't going to be good anyway to be even better at my chosen roles.Besides, my game is more predicated on awareness, vision, smart shot selection, and hustle than volume shooting.Last edited by MrWrestling3; 09-04-2018, 12:06 PM.Comment

For which mode? 6’11.
I’ve found undersized bigs especially as they badges out do well on 3s.
Depending on the build can do OK in ProAm.
2’s not so much.
For what it worth.Comment

For what its worth (obviously still only playing the prelude.) I switch from sf 6'10 max wingspan 250 sharp defender to 6'9 default wingspan sharp rim protector. I dont know if people noticed but this year's default is longer than last year's default. I wasn't able to get as much blocks and steals from playing the passing lanes, but having much better shooting stats might be worth it after you get all your badges. Default or 1 notch up might be the new meta imo.Comment

I noticed that when I made my player. The wingspans are more accurate. Where I didn't feel the need to have to make a max wing.
I agree with the 3& D player. I think it best to make it a defensive primary. If not youre banking on the defensive badges because Sharp nerfs athleticism. For that build we pretty much have to sacrifice wingspan. Which kind of hurts if you are making him undersized. But you need to if that means making shots more consistently. So hopefully the defensive badges have alot more power. If so that will make up for shorter wingspan.Comment

I see a lot of people looking at the two way SC but let me tell you the ball control is bad.
I used to pump fake a jumper, have he guy in the air , and could not dribble past him because I was dribbling in place due to low speed with ball and control.
It kills a lot of your shot creating ability adding defense secondary. I saw the attributes and they are pretty much the same .#1 Laker fan

This chick is always a problem....lol. There's a joke in there somewhere. I look forward to finding my own niche within the meta and living there like last year.
