Re: NBA 2K19 - Trade Discussion Thread

    Hi!

Im still playing 2k18 and started a MyLeague with the Magic. The rosters are up to date, which includes contracts and everything. So Im basically already in 2018.

As Im aiming on a long term rebuild, I consider trading Vucevic. He is playing so well that there is a risk on ruining my tank (hopefully for Zion). What about following trade:

Magic get: Lakers 2019 1st rounder (lot. protected), Mo Wagner, Tyson Chandler

Lakers get: Nikola Vucevic, Jarell Martin (+ a 2nd?)

I would be happy to have another pick and maybe Wagner could get valuable for me. The Lakers take on almost no risk as Vucevic is in his last contract year and the pick propably will be in a 25-30 range. So they get an Allstar level center to support LeBron instantly and still have a ton of flexibility for upcoming Free Agency. Would you agree to that deal being the Lakers?

That seems fair to me if I’m the lakers. I believe the lakers also would get Nikola bird rights so they could sign a star and then use the bird rights to bring him back on a multi year deal

Should Celtics Trade For Anthony Davis ? (feedback wanted)

Boston has been a big disappointment the last few years and after getting upset in the 1st round this past year its time for changes to be made. Al Horfords contract is off the books, but still they have no cap space to be players in FA. They have to give a new contract to Jaylen Brown this summer and then Tatum next year. They need to find a way to bring in a Center and they have plenty of draft picks and players to go get whoever they want. The name that has been rumored for years is Pelicans C Anthony Davis. They missed the playoffs this year and it appears the time is finally right for them to move the star for a huge haul. Robert Williams has developed nicely however another PF/C is needed. A cheaper option is they could also use 8 and 17 to trade up in the draft to take one of the 2 elite big men.

They main player they will look to trade is Gordon Heyward who is in the final year of his contract. Its unlikely Boston would give him another big deal with all the other people they have to pay. Its doubtful New Orleans would want Hayward with his age and contract situation so they would likely need to find a 3rd team. They would look for a team that has a younger player locked up for a few years. The other two role players that could be traded are Terry Rozier and Marcus Smart. They also spent two 1st round picks last year on young PF's Washington and Smith and they could be useful for a team in the rebuilding phase.

Boston of course has a lot of draft picks and the 8th pick plus at least one of the 17th and 26th is a near lock to be included in the deal. This is a pretty deep draft so the 8th pick will be able to bring in a player with all star potential for the Pelicans. The Pelicans don't own their 1st round pick as it belongs to Atlanta.

So in closing if your Boston would you trade the following for Anthony Davis ? If your answer is no then what would be your counter offer

Gordon Hayward (likely going to a 3rd team)
        Rozier
        8th & 17th pick
        Washington / Smith

Smart Brown Morris Baynes 8th 17 thfor AD.
If you want trade hayward the 3rd team si Bills or Sacramento.

So I’m the Hornets and I obviously wanna dump Biyombo (and later some other dudes), I came up with a trade involving the Nets which i think works:

          Hornets Acquires:
PF Jared Dudley (9. Something Mill, 1 year)
2019 2nd Rounder (could be changed to 2020)

          Nets Acquire:
          C Bismack Biyombo (17M, Player)
          2020 1st Round Top 5 Protected

I'm the Spurs in MyLeague and have thought about Vucevic to get back to our traditional Twin Towers lineup. Would you take Gasol (salary match) and a young guard (Forbes or Derrick White) for Vucevic and a salary dump on Jonathan Simmons? Simmons is a former Spur and that contract hasn't really worked for you guys.

Willing to include a protected pick as well.

I think a lottery protected 1st is fair value for Vucevic even if its a year or two down the line assuming he has his updated ratings. I don't think they are just going to give him away and they don't really need to pay him big $ with Gordan / Bamba.

You would definitely need to throw in a pick but otherwise that would work for me.

Another question- I’m the Spurs and I want Covington from Minnesota.

I can use Pau Gasol and a couple fillers to acquire RoCo and take on Gorgui Deng’s awful contract (3 years, $48mm left on it).

Do i need to include a pick, if so what are your suggestions? I feel like taking that contract back is enough.

I think taking back Deng's contract is close enough for me to not include a pick. If your the Wolves your saving a lot of $. They could then dump Wiggins to a bad team and have a clean cap sheet around KAT.

I've also seen Roco decline a little faster in 2k then I think he will in real life and he is locked up for several more years. I think I moved up his peak end for mine.

Thanks for the feedback man. That's what I was thinking from Minny's side. Gasol's deal is only guaranteed for $6mm next year, so I will prob edit his contract and cut him or retire him.

That way, Minnesota goes from $27.5mm in 2019-2020 between Dieng and RoCo to $6mm of dead money for Gasol. Thats a lot of cap space to work around KAT and Wiggins.

For me, that Dieng contract is a killer for what will be a 3rd center behind LMA and Poeltl. But he can pick and pop, and rebound.

Plus, RoCo's contract is a value, he will fit perfectly with my roster. I'm turning Gasol's dead contract into a rotation player that will fix my defense and a good emergency Center.

Gasol still has some value for the wolves next year so they can trade him if they need to or just let him back up KAT. I am in the offseason in between season 2 / 3 and he is 40 and I'm prob going to sign him to a contract. His rating is still mid to high 70's.

Wolves are one of those teams that's stuck they have to much talent to tank and land a top pick, but not enough talent to be a real threat in the West. They definitely would want to move Dieng's contract and they should have done that to begin with in the Butler trade.

Yea Roco is a solid role player and I loved using him in 2k last year. He isn't a superstar or anything so its not like he should be off the trade market if your them.

Saw someone mention Minny trading Wiggins to a bad team with cap space to shed a bunch of salary to rebuild around KAT.

Any potential ideas? Would obviously need to send an expiring contract or two back to cover the salary, but what type of prospect/pick capital would you expect to be sent to Minnesota in a deal like this?

The Kings are the team that makes the most sense to me. I didn't pull the trigger on that trade in mine and I regret it now. They aren't going to sigh anyone that's better then him over the next few years. They also don't have their 1st round pick so they aren't trying to tank.

They easily have enough cap space and expiring contracts to make the math work like Kufus and Shumpert.
