Re: NBA 2K19 - Trade Discussion Thread

I control all 30 teams and create trades for each team then use Random.Org to determine which trades I make. The Hornets have been bad all season so they've decided to go full tank and trade Kemba. The Denver Nuggets hit the Kemba jackpot. They're above .500 but are fighting for a playoff spot in the West. Below is the trade that I came up with. Let me know if it's fair or if any team needs add or take away anything.

Hornets trade Kemba Walker and Nicolas Batum to Denver for Gary Harris, Michael Porter Jr, and Will Barton (or Mason Plumlee)

Hornets trade Kemba but are able to dump Batum's contract without giving up a 1st. They have some decent prospects in Monk and Bridges, so MPJ, tanking and the cap space will give them a jump start to rebuilding.

Denver is taking a chance on Kemba since he could walk at the end of the season. However, with this trade they become one of the best backcourts in the league. They still wouldn't be on Golden State's level but could give teams like Houston and L.A. a good fight in the playoffs. Taking on Batum's contract is not ideal but getting Kemba without giving up a 1st is pretty good. They lose so depth, but a Big 3 of Walker, Murray and Jokic (plus Millsap still playing well) should be formidable.

    Thoughts?

Re: NBA 2K19 - Trade Discussion Thread

If I am the hornets I am def do this as they get to move Batum's contract which is one of the worst in the league when you factor in the extra year. So if they have decided Kemba's gone it makes sense for them they shed salary and get some quality players

I'm not looking at the ratings now so I'm not sure what Harris default is. I know in mine after a few years he is one of the better 3 & D players in the league and still mid 20's. I think Denver may be giving up to much when you factor in 3 quality players + taking on one of the worst salaries in the league. They will have to give Kemba a big deal so they are stuck in the luxury tax forever with little depth since they don't have a 1st round pick bc the faired trade.

What about giving them Porter, Plumlee and Barton they still get a player with high upside in Porter and two solid vets That are both more tradeable in the offseason them Batum would be. The issue is some team might be able to top that offer unless they add a long term protected 1st.

I ended up taking out Barton and adding Plumlee instead for Denver, then adding Wily Hernangomez and the Knicks 19 2nd from Charlotte, making a litter better for Denver.

Also, Batum is actually playing really well in my MyLeague. He actually has the highest PER of all of the players in the deal, included Kemba and Harris. But IIRC he did miss some time. He's still a negative contact but he'll start for them and Barton will be the 6th-man.

I started a new MyLeague with the Nets and I'm targeting Vucevic.

The CPU really overvalues Caris LeVert and Rondae Hollis-Jefferson lol.

What about one of those guys, either my first or the Nuggets 1st, and salary filler? Open up playing time for Bamba and get a 1st and a young player.

RHJ, nuggets 1st and another 2nd rounder would do it. Nets wouldn't move Caris Levert

So I’m in my Hawks Dynasty. Trying to trade for a big man. I offer Memphis

Prince (I absolutely suck with him)
Ian Mahinmi (I got earlier in the year because Deadman out for the year.)

              For

              Mar Gasol

They counter asked me to throw in a 1st Round 21’ first round pick top 5 protected

              Is that a good trade

The Ian contract is awful so yea Memphis would need a 1st rounder for sure going to them. I don't think just a 1st is good enough especially one that's a few years away as Gasol ages pretty well in 2k

I don't see why the Hawks would trade for a 33-year old big unless they're on the verge of a strong playoff run. Memphis probably wouldn't be very keen on taking Mahinmi's contract as they're not really getting anything to sweeten the pot and they're trying to shed cap and get younger. If you just even took Mahinmi away, assuming you are the Hawks and have plenty of cap space, you could make something work.

Bledsoe and Brogdon both went down in the same game, for at least a week and a half. I was thinking of unloading Delly really early because I dont want him to start and not really Donte either cuz he cant shoot. So i was searching for other PGs to replace him that were cheap and at least a B+ from 3, and I came across Monte Morris (big fan, i went to State). So i trade finder and get Morris for Christian Wood.

I then trade finder Delly and get Pau Gasol on an expiring 1 year deal.

                      So Monte for Christian Wood,
                      and Pau Gasol for Delly.

                      Good trades?

I feel like this could be the start of something huge for the Bulls. Conley a excellent PG and imho I dont think he would come at too high of a price. I feel like Parker and a top 3 protection for 2020 could easily get this done. Thoughts?

Since Pau is a expiring contract and a higher overall then the team getting Delly would need some assets going back like young players or picks. I'm not sure what their updated ratings are, but either a lottery protected future 1st or something like a 2nd and a young player with decent potential.

What about Wood for Monte Morris? Denver values Monte as a 1 star. (Using barncore's sliders with 80 trade difficulty btw)
