Re: How did 2K fall so far from grace? Fan reviews are in
I play offline, so VC doesn't affect me. I see how they don't really care about upsetting people though. It's because little kid Chad telling his mom that he needs money for this new game so he can get stuff. Mom doesn't care so gives him 100 bucks or whatever the cost is.
2k doesn't need to worry about us for online, they are worried about those teenagers that still live with their parents that have money to hand out. We work for our money, so we aren't going to be handing it out to a game if we feel like they are robbing us. Kids, however, do not care and only care about being number 1. Parents just want a relaxing day after work, so they just hand over the money.
Only reason they changed their mind is because social media is huge so it can negatively affect them, but they also know that kids and their parents probably the number 1 buyers of VC.NFL 2k5 When Sept. Ends.

/\
THIS
Just play the damn game lol. I never..ever have purchased VC. I always wind up with 2 or three builds in the 90s ovr. I don't get it..maybe I'm a dumb dumb, maybe I'm a naive sucker for buying this game..or...maybe I actually WANT to have to work hard to achieve things. I know..odd concept. Here's another odd concept for some of you folks that aren't happy.
maybe...just maybe..you're the minority. You deserve to be angry..you deserve to complain..but you're also not the majority. The majority are playing..taking the good with the bad, realising that they can't actually make a better game themselves. Do the same..or don't buy..or do buy and complain..regardless..welcome to the new world of video games. If you think it's going to go away, you're bonkers.
I'm not telling you guys to just accept this product..but to accept that this is the product. Fight it..speak with your wallet..organise a rally, write your governor, Tweet like a madman..I'm actually with you..I believe in your cause...I just love playing this version of digital basketball and I don't have the strength that you warriors have. Go get em boys..let me know when you have accomplished your mission..I'll gladly give you all the credit for making widesweeping changes to the industry with your vc revolution.
BUT
Imma play the socks offa this game!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Comment

Wasn't all that stuff for offline? I'm good with the grind being whatever you want for offline (which is one reason why I think they should be separate) but for an online game the grind is ridiculous, especially when you're locked into a build and if you have a life and a couple other games in your rotation it makes it really hard to experience more than one or two builds. Bad design for the online aspect.51 & 55

Re: How did 2K fall so far from grace? Fan reviews are in
They lost me as a long time fan.
Their target audience is the fornite crowd now who love meaningless additions and throw money at them through micro transactions which really, if people continue to do it they can’t be blamed for.
But nba basketball has taken a back seat for a game that has nba in the title which is really unfortunateComment

Take two simply takes advantage of modern day society’s impatience, but modern day entitlement also affects the reviews lol double edged sword

There are definitely things in this game that are straight up NBA, from signature styles, mannerisms, offenses, team schemes, series offenses, freelances, team defensive schemes, MyLeague, MyGM, and so on.
While i do wish they'd do a bit more, looking at metrics, those other modes demand attention too.
Cant say the same for NBA Live though.Comment

Re: How did 2K fall so far from grace? Fan reviews are in
I just watched Jim Sterling essentially call the game absolute trash due to the micro-transactions and I was shaking my head the whole time. The comment section for that video was so hard to read, they just see 2K as a dumb sports game that releases each year with no changes and extorts their idiotic fanbase with micro-transactions.
The perception non sports gamers have over this stuff is so radicalized their opinions are practically irrelevant. "Journalists" like Jim Sterling have the loudest voices and the least experience or knowledge of the game so it's impossible to take them seriously.
Offline this 2k19 is exceptional and the hard work gone into each game mode, AI and everything else should be pretty evident for those that sit down and actually play it.
That's my 2 cents.Comment

Re: How did 2K fall so far from grace? Fan reviews are in
The reason you're not seeing the sales drop is that they did a bait and switch.
They paid to have everyone on social media spread that the earnings were fixed and not as outright evil this year. Once the game launched and early access then started doing well with rewards that led more to buy it. Now that people are invested in the game and those who were going to avoid it didn't because the VC problem was fixed they went and changed it.
Don’t really follow sales news that closely to know what you’re referring to exactly, I just feel like most of their sales are from people like me. People who bought the previous years game, enjoyed playing it, and buy it again next year. Games like this that come out every year won’t survive if they don’t have a large percentage of returning costumers that bough the year before and decide to purchase again. If people hated it so much, the return customer base wouldn’t be there year after year.

I just played a great game in my league that was the best NBA basketball experience that I can remember. Not sure what game you are referring to, but is it not 2k19.Comment

Re: How did 2K fall so far from grace? Fan reviews are in
i understand the frustration with the microtransactions.
but as an offline only player(i might jump online to play with friends occasionally but thats it) i realllllly dont care about how bad the microtransactions are. it effects me 0%.
so i just want people like me to know that they should not be discouraged by the poor user reviews if you mostly just stick to myleague and dont care about making your myplayer a 99 overall.

Yikes. 2.6 fan/audience score out of 10. Mainly due to accusations of pay to win and insane grinding. Has 2K gotten too greedy?

Re: How did 2K fall so far from grace? Fan reviews are in
the reason why i would give them a Bad score is Not because of An vc related Stuff. i dont even Touch these myplayer Modes or MyTeam. the reason is simply because every year they take something away that worked before.
right now, the online Leagues, which are the only Mode i Play on a regular Basis and the only reason i buy this game, are just filled with Bugs and errors.
they praised their New Series System but in online Leagues you cant access Series Nor can you edit your Playbook with normal plays, as 50% of plays right now are Not accessible.
they also made Things harder, by reintroducing the necessity to advance the week through the calendar. a state where we have already been 6 years ago in nba 2k13 and a state where we Know that it brings Problem to the Mode.
when Player get injured, the game gets stuck in that state.
what others mentioned is that contract extensions are Not possible during the season and restrictedfree agency is Not working.
that Mode in short words went from fully funktional (regards to what was supposed to be possible) to completely broken down because of so many errors.
thanks 2k,another year where i stand There Not even a week after Release and think, that it's another wasted year.... 2k20 cannot come fast enough.Comment
