Great to hear that you like them. If you start getting more comfortable with the game, you could try the relaxed set that I talked about on the first post. The player movement part is the same (So you will be able to enjoy that part), but the shooting sliders from user/cpu match, but are lower than what you would see on Pro (Sub 50). So that would give you a little more of a challenge hitting shots (And the CPU defense will be a little better), but it will still give you a more relaxed approach.

I like the "all ages" crowds I'm seeing in the sliders section. I plan on gaming into my 50's as well.

    Thanks again for the feedback.
You can refund any game as long as you have less than 2 hours playtime, so it's basically a 2 hour demo.
I'll give your relaxed set a try soon.
I have trouble shooting. I miss the shot meter from 2K17, but at least it's better than 2K18. I might just stick to real player % and mash the buttons - I'm getting quite good at that as the years roll by!

A lot of factors with that, and mostly it comes down to the makeup of the player tendency/attributes wise.

For example, if a player has the highest shot tendency on the team, more often than not he will take the most shots in a given game. And obviously this impacts sim stat outcomes, as that player now will have a higher chance to be the teams leading scorer. If a player has high tendency for dish to open man (think Magic Johnson or John Stockton) more than likely they are going to be facilitating and racking up more assists than other players on the team with a lower number in that area. If 3pt tendencies are high, and attack basktet tendencies are very low, you may have a Steve Novak type playerr/situation on your hands (he'd obviously have to be useless on defense as well in that example ). And the attributes themselves obviously give the player a higher/lower chance of success in that area. So if you want high volume low return on a 3pt shooter (Think Antoine Walker), you would have the 3pt shooting tendencies jacked up, but his 3pt ratings par or subpar. So he will launch, but he won't be that successful. Badges will also play a factor, as you don't want to let a spark plug get going, or someone with "microwave" badge to get hot. Assigning appropriate badges can make players play more authenitc. So it's really. Combo of all 3 attributes, tendencies and badges.

Also, I feel like with my sliders the stars separate themselves a little bit from the regular players. Out of the box, it feels like the players blend in together a bit. And the stars lack explosion. But with the player movement sliders, the better players have real explosion, and it gives the game a more authentic feel in that regard.

        Do me a favor.

Before switching to real player %, try playing with user timing with the shot meter off. Instead of looking at a meter, watch your player actually shooting the ball and just release it the top of the jump (or whatever looks and feels right). You may surprise yourself, I do user timing and much prefer the game with no shot meter. If you see in my gameplay videos, I'm not using one.

I like the feeling of being part of the made basket, actually making the bucket. In real life timing matters on shots and layups, player percentage greatly decreases on shots where he shoots it on the way down, or if he flicks it. That's real basketball. So I play with the shot meter off but keep user timing, that way the game isn't the only one deciding my outcome.

        Whatever you decide, good luck.

I hadn't thought of that. What a great idea. I'll give it a try tomorrow. Thanks.

The other advice I would give to you is to go into scrimmage mode, and just practice shots for a while without the pressure of being in a game.

At the beginning just stick to a few players and learn their timing; then soon enough you'll feel comfortable shooting with anyone and everyone.

Yes, but with the meter off.

The whole point is for you to watch your player and animation, the feet, etc. In game, in scrimmage, by yourself in practice, I don't care. You will find yourself enjoying the game more because your focused on the actual action as opposed to watching a meter fill up. Not only that, it helps you keep a better eye on your defender because your not staring at a meter.

                  Thanks!

I keep intense D at 0 (which is the default).

For timing, I do user timing for shots and layups, with the shot meter off.

Has anyone else noticed a difference between playing the game in the "Play Now" mode and in MyLeague. I played two games with your sliders yesterday, just trying them out, playing randomly, "Play Now", and it was crazy diffucult, I got destroyed, CPU was attempting 3s etc. They still attacked the paint too much but not as much as they usually do in my experience of playing. I took some of your advice playing the defense, I don't play it as tight to the ball handling player as I did before.

But when playing MyLeague I don't have that much problem handling the CPU. I mean it is challenging but I feel I have a control over the game more often than not. Maybe it's just a coincidence, but I got that feeling. Will trying playing some MyLeague again later today or tomorrow.

I agree with you, I do not know if it's a coincidence but yesterday I tried to play a game in myleague mode and after having played a game time I was ahead of about ten points, but in play mode I always come destroyed by the CPU. however these sliders are excellent

Hm, that's weird, and a bit disappointing to be honest, MyLeague is my favourite mode, I don't want it to be easier.

Could be a result of the chemistry logic.

Sorry guys, busy day at work.

I have not. But, I will and I'll get back to you. I've been working on creating a roster to use in MyLeague, which is why I havnt got to it.

The only MyLeague experience I have with my slider is coop myleague with my brother, but playing coop differs entirely from single player vs CPU.

Let me test it out for myself. In the meantime if you want more of a challenge in that mode, use HOF as a base and just use the player movement portion of my sliders.
