Re: Official NBA 2K7 Playbook Thread...

Here are the Nuggets. Starting lineup:

    PG - Allen Iverson
    SG - J.R. Smith
    SF - Carmelo Anthony
    PF - Kenyon Martin
    C - Marcus Camby

I still have issues deciding who starts at PF between K-Mart and Nene before settling once again with K-Mart. But other than that, another obvious starting five. Now for the additional plays to consider that involves Allen Iverson:

PG Elbow Iso (Baseline 1 set)
AI has exceptional one-on-one skills, so it's a good idea to get him isolated often. Here, AI passes the ball to Smith standing near the top of the key, then gets the ball back near the free throw line ready to go to work on his defender. This would be a good play to alternate with the "SG Dive" play listed in the original.

    PG Dive (Baseline 1 set)
Another Isolation play for AI that gets him the ball near elbow. It would be a good idea to alternate this play with "SG Dive" and the aforementioned "PG Elbow Iso". Or this could replace one of the plays for Melo out of the Box set ("Screen Screener SF" & "SF Misdirection"). See the Bulls section for a description of this play.

High Rub PG-PF (Triangle 6 set)
This is a Pick & Roll play involving AI and K-Mart set at the top of the key. This one can be effectively switched up with "High Rub PG-C" play which is included in the original list. Check out the Pistons section for an explanation.

Re: Official NBA 2K7 Playbook Thread...

Here are the Warriors. Starting lineup:

      PG - Baron Davis
      SG - Jason Richardson
      SF - Stephen Jackson
      PF - Al Harrington
      C - Andris Biedrins

I have to admit: starting Monta Ellis is tempting. However, I feel Stephen Jackson is the better player in this game since Ellis hasn't gotten a ratings boost. So therefore Jackson gets the nod. Lucky for Warriors users that character and off-the-court issues doesn't factor into basketball videogames. I put Jason Richardson at the 2-spot instead of Jackson because the Warriors' playbook has plays that isolates the SG and J-Rich is the better one-on-one player. Putting in Harrington at the 4-spot is definitely a no-brainer. Now for the extensive list of plays to accommodate the new players:

Pop and Clear PF (Motion 1 set)
This play is designed to get Al Harrington the ball on the baseline around 12-15 feet away from the basket. This would be a good alternative to "Stack SF-C" play since the SF has the ball near the same spot on the floor in both plays. See the Mavericks section for a rundown of this one.

      Rub Read (Motion 5 set)
This is Screen play involving J-Rich and Harrington. J-Rich is a very good slasher plus both guys are capable of regularly knocking down the open midrange J, making this play effective for this team. Check out the Magic section for a description of this play.

Pick Fade PG-SF (Baseline 1 set)
This is a 2-man play involving Davis and Jackson that can result in either getting Davis a layup or getting either player a midrange J. This play can alternate with either "Stack SF-C" or "Double Thru". The Grizzlies section has a more detailed explanation.

      SF Wing (Motion 4 set)
An Isolation play for Jackson that gets him the ball on the wing behind the arc. This would be a good play to alternate with "SG Dive" or "Double Thru". The Timberwolves section has more on how this play is executed.

Re: Official NBA 2K7 Playbook Thread...

Now for the Pacers. Starting lineup:

        PG - Jamaal Tinsley
        SG - Marquis Daniels
        SF - Danny Granger
        PF - Jermaine O'Neal
        C - Troy Murphy

While figuring out which players would be at the starting SF and SG spots for the Pacers I came across a tough choice to either A.) start Danny Granger and Mike Dunleavy together or B.) start Granger and Marquis Daniels together. And as you all can see, I chose the latter. Daniels can't shoot all that well, but he's a good on-ball defender. For this Pacers team I feel that playing a good perimeter defender more would be a more important factor than being a decent shooter, and neither Dunleavy or Granger for that matter would fare so well defending 2s. As for why Jermaine O'Neal is slotted at the 4-spot, the Pacers playbook dictates that move since a large portion of plays utilize the PF in the post, which is O'Neal's specialty. Most plays in this team's playbook won't have Troy Murphy spotting up behind the arc often, so one would have to get familiar with using DPC to take care of that. Now to go over plays that accommodate the roster changes:

        PG Spread (Motion 5 set)
Isolation play for Jamaal Tinsley. Yeah it's a play designed for a familiar face of the team and not a newcomer, but a hidden gem of this play now is that Troy Murphy would be spotting up at the top of the key instead of Jeff Foster. Murphy would be a nice kickout target for Tinsley.

        Bigs PickRoll (Triangle 5 set)
A good play involving the bigs (O'Neal and Murphy) that sets up Murphy to get the ball close to the basket. With this play Murphy would benefit from extra defensive help O'Neal gets when he touches the ball inside the paint area. Check the Hornets section for details on how this play is ran.

        Stack SF-C (Motion 1 set)
This is a Pick & Roll play involving Granger and Murphy. Granger is certainly a threat to score off the dribble, but what makes this play more effective now is the shooting ability of Murphy if Murphy's man goes over to help out to guard Granger after he sets the screen. Check the Hawks section for explanation of this play.

Re: Official NBA 2K7 Playbook Thread...

          Now the 76ers. Starting lineup:

          PG - Andre Miller
          SG - Andre Iguodala
          SF - Kyle Korver
          PF - Joe Smith
          C - Samuel Dalembert

One dilemma I came across is who to start between Kyle Korver and William Green. I stuck with Korver because he's a very good shooter on this game. Moreover, I start Korver at the SF spot instead of SG because a larger portion of plays in this team's playbook has the SF spotting up behind the arc as opposed to the SG. Iguodala is the much better defender than Korver though, so one would have to get used to going to the player matchup screen to make sure Iggy is matched up against the more talented swingman.

This is one of the toughest teams to find the best plays for. With both Allen Iverson and Chris Webber now off this team, one would have to almost start from scratch to come up with plays to base the team's half-court offense around. Now a lot of the plays utilizing the PG can still be used now because of Andre Miller, who's a nice player is his own right. But other than that, there are issues everywhere with this team. So... where to begin?

          PG Reversal (1-4 High set)
This play can still be ran for Miller (with Korver as an alternative option), although it's not as effective as it is whenever AI's running it. Refer to the Knicks section to see how it goes.

Pick Fade PG-SF (Baseline 1 set)
Another decent play to run involving Miller and Korver. Check the description of this one in the Grizzlies section.

          Stack PG-PF (Motion 1 set)
This Pick & Pop play involving Miller and Joe Smith. This play is good to call on since Smith has a decent midrange J. Take a look at the Sixers section of the original list to see how this play is executed.

          Double Thru (Motion 5 set)
Still a good play to use involving Korver and Iggy despite the recent roster changes for the Sixers. The Sonics section has a rundown of this play.

Pop and Clear PF (Motion 1 set)
This can also still be an effective play after the roster changes since Smith is capable of regularly knocking down the open midrange baseline J. Check the Mavericks section for a description of this play.

Single Double PG-SG (Baseline 1 set)
A good play to use to get either Miller, Korver or Iguodala an open shot. Check the original Warriors section for a detailed summary of the play.

          Rub Read
A Screen play involving Iguodala and Smith. The Magic section has a rundown of this one. Be warned that it may be a good idea to favor driving to the basket as opposed to shooting the midrange J while coming off the Smith screen controlling Iggy.

          Shuffle Rub C
This is a good play to get Samuel Dalembert a shot near the basket since he isn't much of a threat to score from the low block. Check the Suns section to see how this play is ran.

I've looked through the thread, and maybe I've missed it...but does anyone have this for download as a PS3 file? Thanks.

EDIT: I did it myself. All the credit for them obviously goes to Kruza, I just wanted to get something up for the fellow PS3 players.

For those that don't know how to get them on your PS3, you'll need a memory stick/flash drive. On your device, create a folder named 'PS3'...inside that folder, create a folder named 'SAVEDATA'...After you download and unzip the file, paste the 'BLUS30004-PBK-2' folder into the 'SAVEDATA' folder...put it in your PS3, go to Saved Game Data (or whatever it's actually called) and copy the file from your memory stick/flash drive onto your hard drive.

(My first time attaching a file, hopefully it works)
