Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
Get rid of hickson.. he doesnt do much of anything but is worth alot on the market. antawn jamison is old but he will fetch a good future star I think i got wesley matthews with him maybe you can pull off a wesley johnson or paul george and I got rid of verajao for tyson chandler.. The last thing you want to do is get stuck in a bad contract tyson and him are similar just a 4 year contract vs a expiring deal I got rid of mo also but unless you can get a good caliber PG I don't recommend it..Last edited by sharigan77; 01-19-2011, 02:34 AM.Comment

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
Trade Varejao for another young Big Man( who ever you like ). For me, Varejao don't deserve those large chunks of money. If you can't find one, trade him for a draft pick.
If you can score with Jamison, stick with him. He's worth it. Yes he's aging and not getting any younger, but he can still contribute. If you opt to trade him, trade him for future draft picks.
Stick with Mo. He might be an average defender but he's a classic shooter. You'll need him specially in clutch situations. I don't see the Cavs going separate ways with Mo either in real life.
Keep Hickson. He's a solid backup PF. He can backdown almost anyone. Try to develop his low post offense and you might be surprise how potent he can be in that low post game.
Build your SG and SF position. I'll leave the decisions to you on whether building those positions through the Draft or FA Signing.
TIP: Keep your Association as realistic as you can and you'll bee rewarded with self-fulfillment.
TIP: Stick with your team. You'll learn to love them through highs and lows.Comment

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
Yes he is my best defensive player although his contract is very ugly and hes not as offensive minded as i need him to be.
I figured if i trade him for ibaka, i get a nice young 4 who i can develop besides thabeet.
Yes im worried about cap, its already way over the hardcap best way to bring it down is to lose some cap room.
Im not as keen as most people are on artest, i play like the old school lakers, i worry about the middle. If i can sorround myself with shooters for cheap then ill do so.
I simmed the first season and developed each month. Ibaka and Made sixth man of the year. Thabeet also got most improved player of the year.
Thats the reason i brought in cj watson because hes cheap and he has a nice shot, Same as kapono. Odom is very underrated but he has a nice shot as well as long as he gets going.
Now im feeding the mid and i get double teamed and artest just happens to be out there and i kick out to him 80% of the time he misses that 3 and i really hate that. Id rather have odom or kapono have it.
I ended up winning with this team and i managed to make the lakers younger.
Didnt have much cap so i traded away matt barnes in the offseason and my 1st rounders for the cavs pick. I got lucky and got the 7th pick and picked up the best player i could find. Hes another sg.
Signed delonte west for mid level as well.
Also shannon brown wants out of la so to actually get a solid player back for him.
I traded shannon , delonte, and my 2nd round pick to the celtics.
For
Avery Bradley (hes a young pg but he has great potential), Shaquille Oneal (i wanted him to retire in la see if i can do the 1 - 2 kobe combo again), Jermaine Oneal and celtic 1st rounder.
I really didnt need jermaine oneal but it made the contract fit plus him and oneal was unhappy so it was easy to get them.
Ended up not keeping j oneal because i think hes garbage, he has some trade value and packaged him with cj watson to the timbs.
For cory brewer, Ishmael Smith and 2 2nd rounders.
I did this because smith will be an upcoming pg. Would be a good back up eventually for bradley. Brewer gives me a nice tall atlethic sg that i can move to the 3 to back up odom.
My roster got older and got younger at the same time.
Saw that luke ridnour was waived so i decided to sign him as well.
pg - Avery Bradley, Luke Ridnour, Derek Fisher, Ishmael Smith
Sg - Kobe Bryant. Phil burks (72 rating rookie b potential)
sf - Lamar Odom, Cory brewer, Jason Kapono
pf - Pau Gasol, Serge Ibaka
C - Andrew Bynum, Shaquille Oneal, Hasheem Thabeet.
Yeah i lose some of my core championship crew but i filled in my weakness in my roster and thats my pg position. It will take a lil while for avery bradley and ishmael to develop but when they do, theyll be efficient.Comment

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
I want to take on the challenge of getting this team to the promise land. Then building through the draft just b/c everyone says the Raptors are the toughest to turn around. The 1 star i have my eye on is Derrick Rose, hope to stock enough picks and good up and comers like Derozan and try to pry him from CHI next year or the year after."Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
Yeah im hoping to get a good Inside PF in the off season but according to the team offense and defense im rated 1st in the league and after simming and training the bigs to rebound and play defense i finshed with a 62-20 record so im condifent that they can do it in the playoffs and as for the old guys i think r-jeff on 1 year contract and j-rich is on a 4 year deal but ive not drafted any rookies so this year ill get some young guys in build them up so i have back ups and bigger depth and wen the old guys leave theyll come in but durant and westbrook + stuckey all staying for another 3 years at least so im hoping those 3 can attract big names in FA
Did hav a situation wen green was out for 4 months of season and yet i only lost 4 or 5 games so i think bonner came in and played the backup 4 and ibaka started that improved team chemistry to a 96% and both guys improved masively so u know its all good
Definsive player of year:Kevin Durant
MVP:Kevin DurantComment

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
Wesley also so far hes shut down kobe (12 pts) leandro barbosa (8) kevin martin (9) and iggy (13) ronnie brewer comes in and gets a few chasedown blocks in the fast break. I thought I was going to need more size (mike conley is 6'1) but he did well on deron williams, rondo, and derrick rose plus he leads the league in steals and defense always collapse on him. george plays good d and can always hit an open shot so can toney and rudy. serge and roy average about 5 blocks together.. This team is on a 21 game win streak (Rudy can do dunks in carmelos dunk package that he cant even do.. strange.. I still keep him with wesley johnsons)Comment

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
Hey Guys,
just signed up, I think this forum is great!
Anyway, I need a little help on my association...
I play with Oklahoma, am at the first few games of season 3 (2012-2013) right now. And now I have a difficult situation at the Center postition, but first the team:
(Starter, Bench, Reserves)
PG R.Westbrook 93, J.Teague 71
SG A.Rivers 85 (Pick 2012), Jordan Crawford 72
SF K.Durant 98, , S.Graham 59
PF Josh Smith 86, J.Sulliger 75 (Pick 2011), D. Porter 62
C A.Horford 86, L.Nogueira 72 (Pick 2012), P.Ellis 59
To finally accomplish this team, which to me is in term of rotation the optimum, I did this trade:
(TradeValue)
OKC Rec.:
Smith 3,5
Horford 4,5
Teague 3
Crawford 2,5
Atl Rec.:
Harden 4
Hibbert 3,5
D.Jones (Pick 2012) 2
Q.Miller (Pick 2012) 4,5
Now, finally, my problem is the question Horford or Hibbert. Horford does not have that lengh (2,06 vs 2,19) and is one year older, but then again he has 4 points OVL more and his potential is higher, too (A+ vs B). Also is his mid range game better, respectively more consistent.
Another problem is Teague. I'm very pleased with his action on the court, he is not that bad ratet for a backup and is young & talentet. But his contract expires at the end of the season and he wants to check the market. But since I'm over the salary cap, I fear I can't hold him when he loses his Bird years.
What do you think about these thinks and my association as a whole?

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
I'm doing a 12 minute quarter pro simulation 29 game association with the Hawks. First game I played well against a closely match Phoenix team and beat them 103-90 in Phoenix. Two days later I had Oklahoma City in Oklahoma City and game two is where things are going downhill already haha. Josh Smith gets injured first for 2-4 weeks, which sucks, but I figured I could adjust around it. But then Maurice Evans, my starting SF gets hurt as well. This really changed things.
So I started by moving Marvin Williams from backup SF to starting PF to take over Josh Smith's role. Decided to trade my 6th man, Jamal Crawford who wasn't doing jack to Dallas for Jason Terry and a first this year so he'll take on the 6th man role and maybe it'll give me some ammo to get two good first rounders or trade up for a lottery pick. Evans is somewhere around 6 weeks so Dominique Wilkins became my only SF. Figure he can play backup and I signed Walter Hermann to start which gives me this lineup going into LA tomorrow.
PG - Mike Bibby - Jeff Teague (Role Player) - Pape Sy (D-League)
SG - Joe Johnson - Jason Terry (6th Man) - Jordan Crawford (Prospect)
SF - Walter Hermann - Dominique Wilkins (Role Player) - Maurice Evans (Injured)
PF - Marvin Williams - Josh Powell (Role Player) - Etan Thomas (Bench Warmer) - Josh Smith (Injured)
C - Al Horford - Zaza Pachulia (Role Player) - Jason Collins (IR)Comment

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
So after asking for help on a rebuilding team to do, I decided to go against that and be my favorite team the Hawks. After destroying the Griz in the first game, I decided that Marvin Williams wasn't getting it done at all, so I moved him and a first from 2012 to the Suns for Josh Childress. I know it's unrealistic, but one time I went up against Childress in a quick play game and I had trouble containing him. Hopefully the computer is the same way. I really don't know if that was a genius trade or not, but I doubt I'll make it through year two so it's worth it to me. Now all I need to do is move Jamal Crawford. I love him in real life, but I can't shoot at all with him in this game, and he's utterly useless for me. Who should I move him for that is a pretty good SG in this game?Comment
