Re: The Official Rate My Trade Thread

made great trades in my Lakers association...Sixers offered me Jrue Holiday and Iguadala for Bynum and the Mavs offered me Nowitzki for Pau Gasol.

Also traded Matt Barnes and Sessions for Javele McGee

    My lineup is now

    Holiday
    Kobe
    Igudala
    Dirk
    McGee

Also picked up Okur and Odom off the FA list
    SLIDERS SUCK

Re: The Official Rate My Trade Thread

If you take away the Dirk trade (because it's too unrealistic), I'd say the other two are great trades and the Odom signing is kinda realistic, as he's obviously gonna go back to the LAL next season IRL.

Also, started yet ANOTHER Celtics franchise with more realistic rosters and draft classes. At the beginning of the first season, decided to trade Rondo and Pietrus for Wetbrook, Cook, and OKC's '12 1st.

Rondo fits better than Westbrook on OKC because they need a distributor at PG more than they need a scorer. Also, Rondo is the superior defender, rebounder, and he's on a cheaper contract. OKC also gets a great backup 3 in Pietrus who can hit the 3 and defend, and this trade easily puts OKC over the top in the West. Lastly, they get to rid themselves of Cook's **** contract.

NOTE: Due to Rondo's recent success with mid-range, his medium shot is 72 and his "dribble pull-up" is Average, so he's an improved shooter, just as he is now IRL, contrary to popular belief.

I do this because, while I think Rondo is the better player, Westbrook is younger. That's literally my only reason for trading for him. I have more years to build a solid team around him, and I don't feel as though I only have 2-3 seasons to get star players around him, as I would with Rondo. So, I believe Westbrook is a bit of a downgrade at PG, I lose Pietrus, and I take on Cook's bad contract, so I threw in OKC's '12 1st, and the trade seems pretty even to me after that.

What do you guys think? I think it makes both teams better in the future and now, so I think it's a good trade for both teams and it's fair to both sides.

        OPENING DAY ROSTERS

Using the Nets, here was my trade:

        NETS
        Kris Humphries PF (70 OVR)
        Damion James SF (69 OVR)

        for

        BUCKS
        Ersan Ilyasova PF (66 OVR)
        Shaun Livingston PG (58 OVR)

        -----

I released Livingston, didn't need him. Bucks have a solid lineup now and so do I:

        Bucks:
Jennings, Stephen Jackson, Damion James, Kris Humphries, Andrew Bogut

        Nets:
DWill, MarShon, AK47 (Free agent signing), Ersan Ilyasova, Brook Lopez

Re: The Official Rate My Trade Thread

Actually, once again I'm gonna restart my franchise. I'm thinking about rebuilding around Rondo, but I also want to get my big man of the future in Drummond. He's a HUGE risk, as he could either be Kwame Brown or D12, but he's athletic, can defend both the post AND the perimeter, is a good rebounder (though not yet great), is an excellent shot blocker, and can actually pass very good too (look at his HS highlights...it's HS, but you can clearly see he has passing skills).

Any idea on how to get a top 3 pick AND keep Rondo, or will I have to get rid of Rondo? If so, what's a good trade for him that will net me a top 3 pick? Obviously, it has to be to teams like TOR, WAS, CHA, etc.

I was thinking of trading Allen mid-season, and honestly just hoping that my team does bad when I sim, so I can get a lottery pick.

I want to trade Lin for some backup bigman. Any suggestions? Maybe Lin for Hill(from Lakers) and Murphy? Default 2K roster 2 weeks old.

Re: The Official Rate My Trade Thread

                Magic Trade

                Jeff Teague 78 (3 Star)
                JR Smith 78 (2 Star)
                Markieff Morris 69 (1 1/2 Star)

                FOR

                Warriors Trade

                Michael Beasley 81 (4 Star)

Teague is on a 1 year deal and says he wants to test value in free agency.

                Magic with Beasley would be:

                PG Curry 85
                SG Lebron 99
                SF Beasley 81
                PF Gortat 75
                C Hibbert 81
                6 Fields 77
                7 Young 77
                8 Faried 75
                9 Ayon 66
                10 Korver 60
                11 Ferguson(Rookie) 53 pg
                12 Haddadi 53

Will need a backup PG but I just wont let Lebron and Curry both be out at the same time. I'm Losing Teague anyway so just trying to get something and losing smith doesnt hurt because beasley can play the 3-4 and it gives me fields and young off the bench.

                    Ersan Ilyasova PF (66 OVR)
                    Shaun Livingston PG (58 OVR)

                    -----

I released Livingston, didn't need him. Bucks have a solid lineup now and so do I:

                    Bucks:

                    Nets:
DWill, MarShon, AK47 (Free agent signing), Ersan Ilyasova, Brook Lopez
In my second month (December), Ersan Ilyasova just wasn't a good fit for my Nets and D-Will. I tried to develop him, putting him through the drills to better his offense and defense but that 94 Midrange shot was non-existent whenever he took a shot. He didn't do what I brought him to the Nets to do. He became the 6th man for awhile, Mehmet Okur was doing great at PF. Ersan was disappointed with his minutes and said he wanted to test his value in Free Agency so I did another trade (3 team trade):

                    Nets
                    Ersan Ilyasova (to Suns)
                    Shelden Williams (to Pistons)
                    2nd Round Pick (to Pistons)

                    Suns
                    Channing Frye (to Pistons)
                    Chris Douglas-Roberts (to Pistons)
                    1st Round Pick (to Pistons)

                    Pistons
Ben Gordon (to Suns) * Shannon Brown on Suns was injured
                    Charlie Villanueva (to Nets)
                    Ben Wallace (to Nets)

Trade was accepted, no Force Trades on
                    ------

Let me tell you, Charlie Villanueva and Ben Wallace are really helping my team out. Currently on a 2 game win streak beat the Lakers and the Celtics!

Re: The Official Rate My Trade Thread

Looking for a good trade to trade away J.Johnson from hawks.
                      What you guys think:

MEM gets: J.Johnson, J.Teague, Alonso Gee, 2012 2nd round pick (CAVS)
                      ATL gets: R.Gay, G.Arenas, H.Haddadi

I think it's plausible, because MEM did real well without Gay in the play-offs, so they would get rid of his contract and get solid new pieces (Johnson playing healed from last years injuries, Teague is having a great season in my assc. and Gee is a high potential young wing man) and ATL would get young athletic star, who can come up big in 4th Q (I really had trouble taking over the 4th Q with Johnson), but paying the price - you never know what you'll get from arenas, so PG position is a big "?" (no hinrich - was traded earlier).

So after the trade, my ATL would be:

PG: Arenas, Flynn (injured all the time :S)
                      SG: W.Mathews, T-mac
                      SF: Gay, (t-mac)
                      PF: J-Smoove, I.Johnson
                      C: Horford, G.Oden

What you guys think, too cheese? I will have troubles with PG position, I'm afraid...

See to be honest your lineup is good but undersized. i would start Flynn over Arenas just because he faster and has a better shot. In real life they wouldn't take back JJ just because memphis has OJ Mayo but 2K wise it could work because in real life OJ comes off the bench so good trade.

My bigs are yes a bit undersized, but very athletic and skilled....
In the roster I'm using, Flynn has durability at 25 - sadly i did not notice that before i traded for him, so he has trouble staying healthy....
Maybe in real life they would not take Teague because they have conley, but he's an asset anyway......

                          Anyway, thanks for the input!

JJ's contract is terrible and already having mayo MEM is losing. Gay is a solid player and although that had success without him I would think they would want you assets and good picks for him. Gee and Teague are solid but Gee will likely never be the player that Gay already is. Johnson is on the back nine of his career and has failed to live up to his contract. So I think you definitely got the better end of the deal.

                            What about this trade?

Fantasy drafted online association year 2:

                            Magic Trade:

                            Markieff Morris 69

                            Warriors
                            Beasley 81

I have to dump teague because I have curry and Teague already said he doesnt want to come back.

Initial start of the season trades for the Charlotte Hornets (using the Bobcats roster). It's a nice challenge trying to build a team without a lot of tradeable assets.

                              Trade 1:
DJ Augustin to New Jersey for Net's 2012 First Round Pick & Jordan Famar

Justification: clear up more playing time for Walker + why not tank a little more, eh? Nets get insurance in case DWill bolts plus a small amount of cap relief.

                              Trade 2:
Tyrus Thomas to Denver for Kenneth Faried & Rudy Fernandez

Justification: Honestly I was surprised the CPU offered this trade, but I can see it to an extent. Bobcats are sick and tired of Thomas loafing, but Nuggets are enticed by his length and athleticism (as the Bobcats were; as the Bulls were). Added bonus, Faried has a lot of Paul Silas in him.

I thought it was a very good trade for my team, plus it sheds Thomas' bad contract. But is my gut right in saying it's a little unrealistic?

First trade, you robbed the Nets. They have Farmar and Gaines for assurance if D-Will bolts, so you've swapped Augustin for Farmar and a 1st! I'd swap the 1st for a 2nd.

The second trade, would be unrealistic based on how well Faried is playng but adding Thomas does give them a better team in 2K. So that one is fair.
