    Re: The Official Rate My Trade Thread

    Even though this might be the most unrealistic trade ever made here it goes.

    I (SAC) get:

    * Kevin Durant
    * Kendrick Perkins

    OKC gets:

    * DeMarcus Cousins
    * Tyreke Evans

    * Note: I made this trade after year 1, so in the offseason which means Tyreke and Cousins both improved.

      Yea...I was thinking irl, where Billups starts at SG, and Harris gives quality minutes at backup PG.

      Unrelated to trades, but does anyone know why my association would keep freezing in-game? Whenever I press 'A' on XBOX to skip timeout, free throw, etc. If I don't mash 'A' to skip, it'll freeze on its own eventually when a free throw is about to go in at some point...anyone know why? My disk isn't scratched, but could having too much NBA 2K data be an issue?

        -Ian Mahinmi

        I think the trade will give me even more wanted size in the paint, defense and rebounding as I drafted Anthony Davis from KY and signed Anderson Varejao in the offseason... plus I'm way overstacked in the SF position what with Ariza, Mayo and Michael Gilchrist. (Came up the the draft!!)

          I've done a NOLA Association that was actually rebuilding around Gordon & Aminu. He's the guy I never let go. However, I don't think you've got much of an option here.

          1. You can never go wrong with J.J. Hickson. Although extremely underrated, he's a beast. He's got no troubles playing the 4 or 5 in a pinch if you need him too. Whenever I play as Rip City, he's my go to guy.. even over Aldrige. Good choice here.

          2. The same goes for Mahinmi. His overall is terrible, but he makes a great back-up center. He'll never be a sixth man, but he can still dominate in the paint and play like one. I tend to pick him up in the offseason each year, and I've never been disappointed with him.

          3. 13 First RD Pick: In the second season of most of my Associations, Rip City has ended up almost making the playoffs, having a mid-late 1st rd pick. However you could easily package this pick and yours to get a higher pick, or even go ahead and use them both as separate picks. You'll still get a good draft.

          But it looks like you've got a great team. Despite the fact that Aminu is one of my favorite players in the NBA, I think this trade is a must. Good luck, man.

            I know you want to build with Lin but trade Melo to the other side of the water for D Will. You could still have Lin coming off the bench and have a superstar in Deron.

                Me personally? No. I mean, it's a good trade.. but by the end of the season Bynum progresses to like a 91-94. I'd wait until then to trade him as you'll have a much better chance of possibly getting a bigger name?

                    Re: The Official Rate My Trade Thread

                    I think I would take that trade.

                    Hibbert is a restricted free agent come seasons end I believe...so you should be able to resign him to a long deal...he becomes quite a good center.

                    Granger is a solid SF which the lakers need.

                    Assuming no other trades.

                    Sessions Blake
                    kobe Goudelock
                    granger barnes/ebanks/ or wp
                    pau jordan hill
                    hibbert jordan hill

                    That looks like a championship contender for a few years.

                    once kobe retires, you still have a go to scorer in granger.
                    hibbert and pau would be a dominate team down low.

                      Not too unrealistic. You have to remember how good DMC is this season, and with improvements in your off-season and IRL, he's already averaging 18-11 in 30 MPG. Crazy potential. Will be tight for best big-man in a year or two between DMC, Bynum and D-Howard.

                            Any good back-up SGs out there? Need one to back-up Marcus Thornton. He's a rising star and is averaging 19 PPG in my Kings Association. Trying to get a back-up SG, while trading either Alabi, and one of Outlaw/Salmons:

                            Deron Williams/Isaiah Thomas
                            Marcus Thornton
                            Wilson Chandler/John Salmons/Travis Outlaw
                            DeMarcus Cousins/Kenneth Faried
                            Chirs Kaman/Greg Oden/Drew Cook/Solomon Alabi

                            Advice?

                            Kings Association is fun because there's valuable trade pieces to work with, but still a poor team in need of work in many areas, which is great for a rebuiolding association!

                              Avery Bradley and Boston's 2012 2nd rounder (#24) for Iman Shumpert. Knicks already have 2 other impact PGs, and they'll need a good young SG, since Smith and Fields are both testing FA.

                              Second trade is Rondo for Pau Gasol and the #13 overall pick. I do already have Bass and Johnson, but Gasol is much better than both, I get a mid-1st, and Gasol's contract is a year shorter, so I'll have lots of cap in 2014, after (hopefully) the Big 3 retire. Probably gonna draft a C like Ezeli with the #13 pick and probably a SF or SG with my #24 pick.

                              Here's how my roster will look:

                              Shumpert/Dooling
                              Allen/Rookie/Moore
                              Pierce/Pietrus
                              Gasol/Bass/Johnson
                              Garnett/Ezeli

                              I understand it's worse now, but I think I can work on Shumpert and make him into a great player. Even if I can't, I'm really good at isolation with Shumpert, and his size is overwhelming for most PGs.
                              Fair trade but Iman isn't a PG he's a SG. So that might hurt team chemistry at first but you can develop his passing and handling and make him a pg.
