Re: The Official Rate My Trade Thread

With all the Dwight to LA rumors, I setup a Magic dynasty and made these trades, what do you think?

Lakers get: Dwight Howard, Gilbert Arenas, Daniel Orton
Orlando gets: Pau Gasol, Andrew Bynum, Lamar Odom, 1st Round Pick

Hornets get: Andrew Bynum, Jameer Nelson, Quentin Richardson
Orlando gets: Chris Paul, Aaron Gray

Cavaliers get: Brandon Bass, Chris Duhon
    Orlando gets: Anderson Varejao

    Orlando Magic Starting Lineup
    PG: Chris Paul
    SG: Jason Richardson, JJ Redick
    SF: Hedo Turkoglu, Earl Clark
PF: Pau Gasol, Lamar Odom, Ryan Anderson
    C: Anderson Varejao, Aaron Gray

I'd use the draft picks + MLE to fill in the rest of the roster.

Re: The Official Rate My Trade Thread

I was thinking of starting a Hawks chise and simming the 1st season then...like above...try a three team trade including Hawks, Magic, and Lakers. here is what I was just thinking of...

      Hawks get:
      Andrew Bynum
      2011 1st from ORL

      Magic get:
      Josh Smith
      2011 1st from LA
      2012 1st from LA
      2012 1st from ATL

      Lakers get:
      Dwight Howard

like I said, i was just thinking of these. not sure if they would work...but whatever. Im an Atlanta fan but not a fan of Josh Smith...especially as of late. I feel as if ATL needs a true center like Bynum. if this works, I'd draft a scoring SF like Tobias Harris in the 1st then either a SG(if Crawford leaves in FA) like LaceDarius Dunn, or a C for depth like Josh Harrellson

In year 3 of my Association with the Cavs.

          My roster looks like this.

PG - Kyrie Irving / Jared Bayliss / Jeff Teague
SG - Reggie Bullock (R) / Brandon Rush
SF - Harrison Barnes / Jon Diebler
PF - JJ Hickson / Antwon Jamison / Brandon Wright
          C - Andy Verejou / Hasheem Thabeet

I'm thinking about trying to make a deal for Greg Oden to give me an upgrade at C. I'm not a huge Andy fan in this game because he can't really do the same types of things that he can do in real life. He is more of an "energy" guy and that doesn't really translate to 2k hoops land haha. I think with Oden, and then Thatbeet coming off the bench I could have two of the best defensive Centers in the game.

What do you guys think would be a fair offer from me for Oden???

Re: The Official Rate My Trade Thread

I'm the Bulls and I just completed November and am now 12-3. However, I just adjusted the level and sliders and now the games are a lot more challenging so I'm sure I'll start losing more often. Anyways, I've been having trouble with shooting guards. Most of the shooting guards I play have big nights offensively, while Brewer and Bogans can't score more than 10 points so I need to upgrade that position. Here's the trade I'm proposing.

            Kings Get:
            CJ Watson PG (72 OVR)

            Bulls Get:
            JR Smith SG (75 OVR)
            G. Forbes (67 OVR) - I'll probably release him after the trade is done
            2nd Round Pick 2011 - Kings

            Nuggets Get:
            Bogans SG (62 OVR)
            J. Pargo PG/SG (64 OVR)
            1st Round Pick 2011 - Bulls
            1st Round Pick 2012 - Bulls

I think this is a fair and realistic trade. Nuggets get expiring contracts and draft picks. Kings get a scoring PG who can start, has a reasonable contract, is young, and who could also score along with Tyreke Evans. And I get a starting SG, who by the way, is unhappy on the Nuggets and said he will be leaving as a FA.

Only reason I feel like I have to make the trade for JR Smith this season is because if I wait until the offseason, I won't be able to sign him because he always wants more than the MLE.

Let me know what you guys think.

I think its a great trade and pretty realistic considering every player in the trade may be moved in real life. However, I think the Magic needs more in the deal. I've heard rumors that if the Magic trades Dwight, they will try to make the team that gets him take Gilbert Arenas or Turk as well. So maybe LA should be taking one of those for a contract thats expiring or something.

I think LA is giving up way too much. Gasol should be spared from that trade plus the Hornets and the Cavs ones are unrealistic as well. However if you don't care about how realistic they are then I guess its ok since you are clearly the winner in each trade. I would start Gasol at Center and Odom at PF. That way you have a huge lineup and you should win a lot of games.

Yeah it probably is too much. I want to use Gasol so I'm thinking more Dwight for Gasol, Odom & 2 picks. I don't care so much about getting CP3 because Nelson is serviceable in the short term

My thought is to start Varejao at C but bring Odom off the bench and shift Gasol to C a lot. Odom can also move to SF while Turk is out and I can bring Ryan Anderson in. A lot of big men who can shoot, it's not really the type of team I've used before.

Re: The Official Rate My Trade Thread

I made a couple of trade deadline deals with the Timberwolves (season 1):

                  1.)
                  MIN trades:
                  Michael Beasley, Luke Ridnour

                  CHA trades:
                  DJ Augustin, Gerald Henderson

                  2.)
                  MIN trades:
Sebastian Telfair, Anthony Randolph, Nikola Pekovic

                  OKC trades:
                  Cole Aldrich

I did trade #1 so I could get future starters in my backcourt (Henderson has great potential and Augustin is already better now than Flynn will ever be, at least with my Rashidi rosters). I could then move Wesley Johnson to his natural position at the three spot. Charlotte gets the best player in the deal in Beasley and they replace Gerald Wallace.

Trade #2 is possibly a bad deal for me, but I like pairing the local kid Aldrich with Love. Aldrich will develop into a legit defensive minded center that will complement Love's outside game and will help mitigate his slow lateral movement on defense. I'm really not a fan of Randolph in general and I am happy to replace him with a traditional center.

Right now I am tracking for the #3 overall pick. Since I have great pieces for the present and future, I can take the best player available and plug him right into the second unit.

Re: The Official Rate My Trade Thread

Running an Association with Chia's roster's as the Wizards I got the 3rd pick overall and took Jonas Valanciunas who I traded to the Timberolves immediately.

                    Wizards Get:
                    Michael Beasley - 79 OVR **1/2
                    Wesley Johnson - 70 OVR *
                    Anthony Randolph - 70 OVR *

                    T'Wolves Get:
                    Jonas Valanciunas - 73 OVR ***1/2
                    Andray Blatche - 72 OVR *1/2
                    2011 34th Pick (Rd 2. Pick 4)

The core of my team is

PG - John Wall (81), JJ Barea (67)
SG - Jordan Crawford (68), Nick Young (67)
SF - Michael Beasley (79), Wesley Johnson (71)
PF - Anthony Randolph (70), Yi Jianlian (67), Rashard Lewis (70)
                    C - Javale McGee (69)

It might look like the Wolves got the short end of the stick initially but they also drafted Jordan Hamilton and I put Rubio on the team, so they look like this, at least the starting 5.

                    PG - Rubio (72 OVR)
                    SG - Ellington (67 OVR)
                    SF - Hamilton (69 OVR)
                    PF - Love (84 OVR)
                    C - Valanciunas (73 OVR)

They also have Blatche, Pekovic and Darko to rotate down low, Flynn and Ridnour at the 1 and a small hole to fill on the wing.
Red Sox, Giants, Knicks, Liverpool FC, Bruins, UConn

Re: The Official Rate My Trade Thread

I have a fantasy Bucks dynasty in my second season.

                      My lineup WAS:

                      PG Jason Kidd
                      SG Shannon Brown
                      SF Rudy Gay
                      PF Dirk Nowitzki
                      C Chris Anderson

Rudy Gay was underpreforming during the season and wasn't worth the money that I was paying him, so I used the trade finder and shipped him off to Dallas:

                      Milwaukee Gets
                      Wilson Chandler
                      Javale McGee

                      Dallas Gets
                      Rudy Gay

So my current lineup now is:

                      PG Jason Kidd
                      SG Shannon Brown
                      SF Wilson Chandler
                      PF Dirk Nowitzkie
                      C Javale McGee

Wilson Chandler is rated as a low 80 with A+ potential while McGee is a solid shot blocker and power dunker to finish Jason Kidd alley-oops. Also, Shannon Brown is my primary scoring option which was also another reason why I felt I could deal Gay without consequence.

Basically I'm hoping to build around my "new" big three Shannon Brown, Wilson Chandler and Javale McGee.

                      What do you guys think?

You could try Bayless, Varejao and this years or next years 1st rounder(if your willing to part with it) and see if that works

Anything I offer, technically will "work" because I control all 30 teams but only play as the Cavs. My issue is just trying to make it "fair" for both teams as I'm not looking to cheat the cpu teams haha.

If that's the case then you probably want to stay away from using Varejao because he's got a pretty big contract you're saddling them with. You could try your luck in the offseason because Oden leaves a good percentage of the time. If you don't want to wait I'd aim more for expiring contracts and draft picks.

I wanted to dump those massive contracts because Joe Johnson isn't worth a max deal Jamal Crawford 10M and was in his last year was used to balance out the cap space and Marvin Williams was doing nothing but sitting on the bench being a bust so i got talent young talent for him
