Re: It would be a total Buzz kill if Association mode is as broken...
Honestly nothing is wrong with the trading logic, i've seen ONE questionable trade and it was the Twolves trading Wesley Johnson for Michael Redd. Which I can't understand at all...but meh I guess it is the Twolves.
With that said in the NBA there are clear one sided deals when you scratch your head and ask "What...is that team doing?" So i'm fine with even that.
With that said it's a shame about the role thing. Don't know much about programming but that seems fixable. Even if it's not we can just turn that off.
I'm now worried about the decreasing amount of trades though. I really hope there is a patch to fix this, or it negates the seemingly much improved trading logic of the A.I.
What about all the stuff about teams that would be sellers, rebuilding teams? What about the teams like the Blazers looking for that last key piece? Why aren't these teams making moves as the years go on and how can this slip by the testing??
Either way by the time it's a issue for me hopefully it is patched.Comment

The FA thing is crazy, though. I know I read that the Association was supposed to be improved in that they wouldn't sign/draft 4 of the same position just because they were the highest rated. So, this is obviously affecting how the CPU views the FA's.
It'd be easy to say that teams should make exceptions for players over 90, but then others are saying players develop too quickly, so then we're back to square 1.Magic and Noles,Knights that are gold, these are a few of my favorite things...Comment

Re: It would be a total Buzz kill if Association mode is as broken...
In order to fix association, we need a more strict rating system. There should be maybe one rookie a year above 78 and with close to A potenial. Everybody else should have B to C potenial after the top 5. Maybe a few sleepers in the second round but thats about it. I simmed like 20 seasons and the problem isn't the trade logic or the player role system. There are just too many good players in the league by year 7. The lack of trades is due to the fact that everybody has pieces to win, its just clear that the better teams with the best morales tend to do the best.
I actually like how the CPU manages its salary Cap situation. I didn't see every team -30 million over the salary cap. Some teams actually had room to make a room. The player roles need to be adjusted, homefield advantage needs to be tweaked to lower how much its affecting the teams. The games need to be closer so the sim engine needs to fixed too. There needs to be less progression between the players so we don't have that talent overload like we always do by year 7. Thats the reason why trades stop happening, and FA stop being signed.
There should be one big superstar come into the league every 5 seasons.Comment

I'll probably be playing most of my games so by the time there is a fix this won't be an issue. Maybe i'll lower rookie potential ratings on draft classes too.HELLO BROOKYLN.

CPU teams are drafting good players and get comfy with the teams they have. If so someone with enough time could lower the ratings of who is drafted and see how the AI reacts to that.Comment

If the players potential is above 90, I bumped it down by 5.
If the players potential is in the 80s, I bump it down by 10.
If the players potential is below 80, I bump it down by 15.
I did this with every player last year but never really got deep enough into association to see if it really worked.
But anyway, this is why I always downloaded draft classes.NFL: Bills
NBA: Bucks
MLB: Cubs
NCAA: Syracuse
Soccer: USMNT/DC United

I had a friend come over last year and play with some rosters I downloaded, he got mad when he saw that Bryant was only an 89. When we played and he saw that Bryant played very realistically and the game played great he went and downloaded the same rosters.Comment

People wouldnt be complaining that KD was lower than Melo if both players were a "B+" or "A"
Now in the first 2k update, 2k HAD to boost KD for reason unknown...Comment
