Re: You CAN assign legends to current teams, HUGE FIND by gmcrb28
I've been trying to do a CAL with Penny Hardaway, but I just can't seem to get him on a roster. I've followed the steps on page 1 several times - the first couple of times, it wouldn't acknowledge the trade I made with the Legends team at all, would just be the default rosters.
Now, I make the trade, save the roster, and start the CAL. However, now the person I traded him for, Malik Allen, is not listed on the roster, but neither is Penny - this means that a player just disappears, and it doesn't acknowledge the trade. Has anyone else had this happen? Found a solution?
Thanks for any help you can provide.Magic and Noles,Knights that are gold, these are a few of my favorite things...Comment

Am I the only one who cant sign free agents in association mode? Everytime I try the game just freezes up. I could before so I am wondering did doing these steps screw with the free agent signing?Playing: Sf:Third Strike&IV,2k12,Batman,Dead Island, Uncharted 3,Skyrim,MGS Collection,WWE 12

Don't create your custom teams with Legends in association...do it in season first and export the team then take them to associationComment

Ok, so first off thanks for this thread, it's really been the only info i could find regarding the issue of handling the classic teams and players once you unlock them. But I'm still not sure about something. What I really want to do is not put a retro player on a modern team, but take say Dennis Rodman from the 1995-96 Bulls and put him on the 1997-98 Spurs, then release Tim Duncan and pretend I'm playing as the 1993-95 Spurs. I guess that's not possible right now is it?
And do you think this is something 2K will address in a patch or will it be up to resourceful players to come up with workarounds?Comment

In season be sure to use the customize league option.
Add the 97-98 Spurs and 95-96 Bulls.
Trade Rodman to the Spurs.
Go to save and export the Spurs.
Exit the season and load your rosters.
Load the Spurs team that you exported.
I believe this is the correct way but you will lose the nice colorful Spurs court.
or
if you want to avoid all the exporting, take the teams you want into season or association and make the trades that you want.
Correct me if I'm wrong but that should work.Last edited by tompetty; 10-17-2011, 08:42 PM.Comment

I made a thread on it also.
And I found out that it seems to work with some players, but not with all. I had no problem doing it with '98 Kobe & Dr. J, but with Penny, it just doesn't seem possible. Also, someone said they are having the same problem with Chris Webber.
Can anyone say whether it's possible or not? (With all players, specifically Hardaway though)Comment

Can anyone address this post? I'm literally having the same exact problem, even all the way down to the players used.

I can't add players or trade players to created teams (exported teams) anymore. Even if I edit the teams and drop the legends in the FA pol they dissapear. WTF is going on man. I could do this 2 days ago, and now after the patch I can't do anythingComment
