I followed exactly as stated in the OP, saved multiple roster files, etc

This is a great find, I must say.
Having to do all of this is just absurd. This clearly shows how incompetent 2k is. I wish the guy who made this find worked for 2k and had the power to make decisions that would make nba2k12 a joy to play, without having to deal with this nonsense. I swear on my life, 2k sucks in some areas. No player lobbies? Are you kidding? I am not going to state the obvious.Comment

I created a roster using this method and placed all the nba's greatest onto their respective teams.
It is up on 2k share and it is a good starting point

If I do the workaround with adding the CAPS to historic teams... Can I use those teams in quick play mode?Milwaukee Brewers | Green Bay Packers | North Carolina Tar Heels | Wisconsin BadgersComment

Re: You CAN assign legends to current teams, HUGE FIND by gmcrb28
2K needs to patch this were we can add CAP's to classic teams once we unlocked them. We should be able to do whatever we want to the rosters after purchasing the game. It would be great if they could patch or set the roster or settings up somehow where if you download the latest 2K roster updates, it won't affect the adjustments you've made to the classic teams rosters once there unlocked.Comment
