Re: Official NBA 2K12 My Player Thread

Hey OS! I'm scrapping my 1st My Player which I started and gave up a while ago. Just wasn't fun anymore... Can anyone suggest the most fun position snd height combination for me? I was thinking like a 6'10 PF Josh Smith type player. Thoughts? Also whats the highest that anybodies been drafted at?
    Thanks!

Re: Official NBA 2K12 My Player Thread

I live in the paint I shoot at least 90 percent of my shots from close.

      I'm a 6'4 athletic/slasher 2 guard I want to kind of play like RIP Hamiltion/reggie miller.

I want be a force with off ball offense etc.. but due to unpredictable AI teammates I more of a slasher my inside/mid range/lay up is all at 85 with my shoot in traffic at 90

I'm increase my inside/layup/dunk to 90+mimick dwade attributes somewhat since he is the best slashing guard.

I want to increase my 3pt to at least 75 since its a 50 but in year 2 i'm trying to build up attributes I'm going to use the most.

I think the most fun position is center, even though I have a PG. if you can stand all the bumping that goes on in the paint, make a center. 6'10-7'1 athletic/defensive is fun, Kind of like Dwight Howard. The highest I've been drafted is 7th, the lowest...26th.

Im building my MPers in their 1st year, so in their 2nd or 3rd year they can explode on to the scene.
My PG will be a defensive force in his second year(almost there). He has 90 On-ball D and Steal. Once I get my Consistency up, I will have a consistent jumper. I am using drills to boost speed and Quickness(both at 84). Once I get it to 88+, I can be better. I have yet to boost Layup.
My PF will be a dynamic scorer. He should be able to score 25 plus. I should be able to get 8+ rbs. I am currently working on defense, so I can have a all-around game.

I have to start using pumpfakes for both of my players. I am consistently getting blocked down low.

Re: Official NBA 2K12 My Player Thread

Just finished another game with Blake Richardson. We lost to the Bulls 108- 80 something. We were winning when they took me out at the end of the 3rd quarter. Then the Bulls went to work destroying us. That's what they get for sitting me the whole 4th. In the post game conference the guy asked about me requesting a trade. I said their was nothing to explain not thinking that Blake would say he didn't request a trade. But obviously I did request one. Blake also said that "where are you getting your info from I love the playing here and all the players are great". That was a load of bull ***t coming from Blake. Now onto how Blake's game went. 1st quarter he had 6pts coming from the post. He struggled under the boards only grabbing 1, and dished a assist. In the 2nd he grabbed 3 rebounds, and scored 2 more baskets from the post. At the half Blake had 10pts, 4 rebounds, and 1 assist. Scored 9pts in the 3rd, along with hitting 1/2 FT. He also got 1 more rebound. Blake finished with another good game, of 19pts, 5 rebounds, and 1 assist. Coming into the game Blake averaged 11.4 pts, 6.4 rebounds, .6 assists, .4blocks, and shot 44% from the field. Blake finished with his best teammate grade yet an A. Got about 450 XP from his performance. Completed 2/3 goals, and 1 dynamic goal. Got a total of about 1600 XP. Still hoping management accepts my trade requests and I go to either the Magic(1st choice), Nuggets(2nd Choice), or the Cavs(last choice).

Cool, thinking about starting another MP, as a 2nd on. Will either be a PG, or SG. My choices for play types are Athletic, All-Around, or 3pt Specialist.

i like scoring, and recommend it for everyone. i feel it gives you the best attributes to do well at the beginning.

i used to think athletic was the best for a PG, but really for scoring 80 speed can keep up with mostly everyone at the beginning, and you can use dribble course or fast break drills to upgrade it. and if you choose athletic your shooting will be so bad you wont be able to shoot a mid range jumper for the first 10 games of your career. i just feel speed is one of the things that you dont need as much right away.

scoring starts off your passing skills a little lower than all around or pass first, but its muss less expensive to buy pass than it is to buy shot med, shot 3 pt, and layup, which all of those will be pretty low if you choose anything other than scoring or 3 point.

and now its down to scoring or 3 point specialist. well on the surface 3 pt specialist looks best because you have that pretty 82 3 pt shot rating. but you need to look farther than that. look at the abilities.

this is what sets scoring way apart from all of the other playstyles. the abilities all start off as "average" for everything except post moves, but as a pg do you really need post moves? for 3 point specialist and most other playstyles, almost everything is started off as "poor". and just look at how expensive abilities cost. i mean they are ridiculously expensive. so i think its worth taking a lower pass rating, or lower 3 point rating, for the simple fact that you have these insanely expensive abilities at average at the start of your career.

of course this is just my opinion, any playstyle will give you a good time and you will eventually be good at everything a season or 2 in, im just saying i feel scoring is the best to start out with. atleast for a PG.

I'm starting the draft now! I hope the Knicks draft me in the 17th spot to be honest. I'd love to play with A'mare and Melo, we could do some damage! Wish me luck!

Has anyone gotten the "no turnovers for 10 consecutive games" or "no turnovers for 25 consecutive games?" These are the milestones that I'm focusing on right now, they're actually a lot tougher than I thought considering I'm averaging 11 ast/game so it's really easy to get TO. Anyway 1 game down 24 to go!!

I started up MP today, creating a 6-2, 190 lbs. all-around PG (my exact measurements and I played PG in High School and Junior College).

After putting together a good performance in the Rookie Showcase, I was interviewed by 3 teams: Indiana, Houston and Philadelphia. I gave positive answers to the Pacers and Rockets (two teams I wanted to go to), but brushed off Philly (wasn't really interested in playing for Doug Collins).

I wound up being drafted No. 15 overall by the Pacers (Houston had the No. 14 and 23 picks, but didn't take me at 14). I'll be coming in off the bench behind Darren Collison, and I'm not sure where George Hill will fit in now that I'm on the team.

Indiana is a team I was considering using in Association Mode this year, but looks like I can move on from that now, since I'll be playing with them in MP.

I adjusted the difficulty to All-Star/Simulation and will be playing 12-minute quarters. Looking forward to getting started.

                          MLB The Show 25 (PS5)

End of 1st season with my PG.
I ended the season as the starter over Holiday. I am not playing at where near the level of Holiday. But, I still won 6th man of the year with 11 ppg, 4 assist, and 1 steal, and 40%. I also I made the all-rookie team(2nd team). I got Speed to 86, Quickness to 85, Consistency to 76.
We got the #1 OVR Pick. We picked up a PG with that pick. He is good, but it makes NO SENSE. Why would you pick up a PG when your best player is a PG(Holliday) and a good backup(Me). If anything, Go after a Frontcourt player. I didnt want to ask for a trade, but I might. I dont want to go to a team like Miami or Knicks. I want to go to a young squad, who has a need a PG.
