Re: Official NBA 2K12 My Player Thread

I had a game where I shot 50% from the line out of like 10 attempts (the one where I got my career high) which pissed me off because it was always slightly early 67% or late, I felt like there was something wrong. I wanna buy Rick Barry's free throw because it's so awesome but idk if I should because I'll just miss every one. Oh and has anyone had like lag when they were playing? It happens to me every once in a while and is super annoying.

Enjoying my MP as a PG with the Knicks, but something has been bothering me.

I've boosted his 3PT to 92 and in one of my recent games he missed just about every 3 I attempted. For some reason he doesn't hit as many 3s as I think he should be. More often than not it's when he's fairly open too.

Sounds like people are having a lot of trouble shooting as they increase their ratings. I struggle at times too. The problem is as you improve your shooting, your release gets quicker. So as you get into the 90's its such a drastic change it gets difficult to consistently hit that window. I suggest heading into practice mode and practice until you've mastered the timing.

Also mix it up a bit, use some of the escape dribble shots and if your shots not falling try to get to the basket. Keeps the defense guessing, they do play to your tendencies. Hope that helps.

I actually tested that the quicker the release, the more likely it goes in.

I got ray Allen jumper and if I release it real quick instead of doing the full green timed release, then it usually goes in

At half-time; Knicks (us) vs. Pacers

            We are leading 57-47, and I'm having a good game...stats at half-time:

            17 points (1Q- 13)
            9 assists (2Q- 8)
            2 blocks (2Q- 2)

Those two stats (points/assists/blocks) are the only ones I'm decent at lol

            1 rebound
            1 steal
            56% FG
            50% 3PT
            100% FT...keeping my league-leading 1.000% FT lol.

Re: Official NBA 2K12 My Player Thread

Can someone recommend dunk and lay up package for me? I finally have enough money to land both.

I've tried Vince Carter's dunk but in shootaround, it seems there is not much difference. (Usually my MP will do the specialty dunk such as Tomahawak lean and etc. instead of dunk from Vince's package) i didn't save that so I reload and thinking about buying a Jordan one.

And for the lay up too?

Update about my T-wolves in season 5th (around 25 games now):

              1. Rubio right now is at 83. he said he gonna testing FA. Does it mean that he gonna leave the team for sure? He signed one year contract worth around $7m last year. Any chance he gonna sign a new one again with the team? I heard that Rubio will hit 90 later so it gonna be bad losing him at the end of this season. I think with my current team cap, it will be hard to find a decent PG to replace him.

              2. Me, SG rate 99 (my attribute already maxed out and all of my abilities are at least "good" but I think I can't not get enough skill points to make all "great" until next season)

              3. Lebron, Rate 99 right now but already 31 years old.

              4. Anthony Randolph, rate 85, already got a "star" status. he played C last season but for some reasons, coach move him to PF. I prefer him at center since I never saw him lose in Jump Ball.

              5. Kevin Love, rate 84. He was moved to C this year. Too bad, he can barely jump so he mostly lose on Jump ball.

6th man is Beaseley, rate 87 right now (but reduced to 80 cause he is unhappy with his role)

When you get traded do your minutes transfer over to the team your traded to or do you have to earn them again?

I plan on buying Rondo's layup package as soon as I make enough money and was wondering how do you perform special layups such as his once you buy a package? Do you hold the left trigger and use X or do you only use X or ...?

Re: Official NBA 2K12 My Player Thread

25 games into my 2nd season, We(Portland) is 20-5 and the #1 team in NBA. I only played 3 games(simmed). I was thinking about Asking for trade;but when I simmed to the 1st game and we were 17-2, I decided to stay after the 1st game I played where we BLEW OUT Lakers. I became the starter. It is no difference. I still basically get same minutes and I still get subbed into SF when Crawford comes in. I am avging over 18ppg, almost 50% on the field and 53% from 3pt. I am 1st in True Shooting % and Effective FG %.
I got my SG's Stepback Jumper maxed at Great. So, I can finally focus on other stuff. I am currently boosting On-Ball D and Steal. I have On-Ball D at 80 and Steal at 62. On-Ball D maxes out at 85. I will be able to max that next game. I will stop boosting Steal at 90. Then I will work on Strength and Vertical. I am boosting Strength because I get matched up with Wing players who can post up and I eventually want to gain a post game. After that, I MUST work on Ball Security. Last couple of games, I been giving up 3+ TOs.
I have been shooting better. Ive been mixing up my shots. Especially, since I started working on Stepback Jumper. It gives me space and it is deadly from Mid Range. I havent worked on yet, but once I work on important things first, I will work on it. Last game I shot over 50% from 3pt.

In Eastern conference semi finals against hawks.

Up 3-2, we blew 18 point lead in game 5, a clincher.

I'm averaging 24 ppg and 9.5 apg in playoffs

Also had a career high 9 steals last game after boosting steal to 84 (mostly from jumping passing lanes like usual, but had 4 on ball steals)

                        I'm kinda happy about this^^

last year I had my 3pt at 99 and I could just step up and drain fifteen 3 pointers a game. I was scoring 70-80 points a game on 5 minute quarters and It was so unrealistic. This year I think they made the shooting percentages way more realistic and basically impossible to put up unreal numbers.

                          Rookie Showcase
Coming out of college as a 20 year old Sophmore from Virginia Tech. Pre-Showcase I wasn't on the radar to be a 1st rounder because of my size/weight, and speed. Put on a good display in the showcase and shot up the draft charts. Golden State, Milwaukee, and Utah took immediate notice and decided to interview me after the game.

Golden State at 11 liked me, but didn't LOVE me. They felt like they were set at guard with Ellis and Curry and implied that I could be the energizer off the bench and still get valuable mintues. I wasn't feeling it and told them I didn't think it could work out but would give it my all if that's where I ended up.

Utah, 12th, had the best pitch of all. They wanted me to be "the guy". I was really intrigued by their ideas and plans for me in Utah that I told them I was their guy If I was still on the board. I also told them it wasn't important for me where I got drafted it was getting drafted to the right team and staying loyal to that team. I think they were really drinking the juice and I was drinking the Utah Juice as well.

Milwaukee picked 10th and basically told it how it was. They aren't a big market and they don't operate like a big market. I can relate to that because I was a small town guy myself. Hunting and Fishing being some of my favorite hobbies, Milwaukee wasn't looking half bad.. They were focused on finding players who wanted to be Bucks for the duration of their careers and they made that very clear. I told them I wanted to see myself playing in the same spot for my entire career. But what really won them over is when they asked what I planned to do with my signing bonus. I told them I would take care of my mom in return of taking care of me on my long journey to the NBA. They loved that answer and promised me I would be picked if I was still on the board at 10.

                          NBA Draft
Going into the draft I was projected to go 11th to the Golden State Warriors. Scouts liked my scoring ability but feared I took too many bad shots and lacked speed and quickness to be successful on the defensive side of the ball.

David Stern gave the opening speech and the draft began. No surprises in the top 4, but first on my wish list of teams I would like to be drafted to was Toronto who drafted a "who?" player named Nic Brown out of Boston College. I felt like I could be successful right away in Toronto with a lot of playing time and shots to go around but they didn't feel the same way. Next on my wishlist was the Washington Wizards who picked 6th. I really wanted to go there and stay local. I could do my thing local and be the hometown kid who makes good. They passed me up for foreigner Jan Vesely which once again left my camp puzzled. After Washington I knew I wouldn't go to Sacramento, Detroit, or Charlotte and than Milwaukee got on the clock. I remembered the GM's promised but wasn't going to get my hopes up as I had heard rumors that they really liked Jimmer Fredette. To my surprise my phone rang and it was Milwaukee Bucks General Manager John Hammond who asked me if I wanted to come play for the Bucks. I told him "Absolutley" and I heard my name called on the TV screen. The rest is history..

                          Milwaukee Bucks Training Camp

I flew into Milwaukee as soon as possible eager to get to work. As soon as I touched down Bucks management was all over me and my agent to handle the logistics of my contract. I ended up signing for $1.98 mil/yr for 2 years with a team option for 2 more seasons as that is what I was slotted for. As soon as I signed I had to pick a new jersey number as Brandon Jennings currently owned my #3 and he wasn't willing to sell it to me. I picked #24 (inspired by Ken Griffey Jr) and they immediately began working on my billboard in downtown Milwaukee. A marketing scheme centered around "The Future Has Arrived" featuring young promising players such as myself, Brandon Jennings, and Andrew Bogut.

Three days into training camp it's been tough learning the system and trying to fit into my role but each day I'm improving drill by drill. Opening day and my rookie debut are just around the corner...

                          More to Come.

                                This game is so frustrating

Opponent pump fakes every ****ing shot

Missing so many A+ looks with great skills

Oh and they hit F shots in their sleep
