Re: Official NBA 2K12 My Player Thread

I had 14 pts, 10 assists, and 2 rebs in my final game as a Mav. But, I had 9 TOs. I got traded to Magic for Jameer Nelson(two other players too). That is the trade I wanted. It was basically a Starting PG trade. They have Turk, Anderson, and the main reason I went there Dwight.
I got On-Ball D to 80. I will max that out at 95. Then Steal.

Started a new my player with the latest roster. PF athletic 6'10 250lbs drafted 12th by the Jazz but I kinda wanna play for the Thunder. So gonna see how it is playing in Utah. Had 10pts 8rebs 1blk 1stl in the rookie showcase. During the interview the Jazz asked me about playing with Favors and Jefferson I told them trade Favors and draft me they asked me about playing in a small market and if I would be willing to stay my entire career I said IDK. I want my guy to be very athletic, jumping out the gym for rebounds, blocks, and doing some monster dunks. Wanna develop a decent mid range shot as well. For my post game I want him to specialize in fadeaways from the post. Gonna take alot of work to develop all of this.
It’s easier to do the right thing, than to explain why you didn’t.

17 points 2 boards and 4 assists in the first quarter for my PG as the my Jazz are up by 12. The light is coming on... a stat overlay came up saying in the past 10 games I was averaging 24.1 points and 7.2 assists in my past 10 games!

Ended up with 56 points, 5 boards, and 10 assists, best game of my career. Accomplished 7 milestones in this one!

We're 7-18 on the year now, back-to-back wins thanks to my guy.

          Averages:
          20.0 PPG
          4.4 RPG
          5.6 APG
          1.6 SPG
          1.0 BPG

Re: Official NBA 2K12 My Player Thread

I just best bad game of my career against Celtics. The bad part was I had 7 TOs. I think I had 2 pts and 8 assists in the 1st half. We were down 20 Dwight was on the bench, and already had 10 assists. I said "F**k it, Rondo has more points than me, I cant end the game like that". Since I maxed out Shot Med, I started chucking up a ton of them. I did alot of stepbacks and iso moves to get separtion. I got hot so when Dwight came back, I didnt stop. The game actually got closer. They took me out at the beginning of the 4th and the score when back to down 19. I think after that, the score got as close as 9. I had THIRTY-SIX points in the 2nd half alone. It was my most aggressive game yet. Games before that, I had not gotten over 16. I was 2 points away from have 40 points. It would have been 40 pts 10 assist milestone, along with 30 pt and 10 assist.
I ended with 38pts, 12 assists, 4 steals. I actually might start taking more of the shots. My TOs went down and the game got closer.

I got On-Ball D to 90. I was going to max that then get Steal to 90. But, the last few games I played I had at least 6 TOs and most of them were stolen away or just lost control. I had to start boosting Ball Handling. I got Ball Security to 76. I want to max that, but it is already close to 1000 to boost it. I will get it to 85 then just rely on Dribble Course. I will then work on Off Hand Dribble to 90. Then work on Stamina and max out Durablilty, then continue with Steal.
I am closing in on 1000 pts, 500 assists, and 250 rebs. The 250th reb probably wont come until like a month or more. I think I am 75 or less from 1000pts and alittle more or less than 50 from 500th assists. Both of them are within 4-8 games reach, I have 2-3 key games in the next 9 games, so I can accomplish them towards the end on the last key game in the stretch
I avg 15pts, 7 assists, 89%FT, 42-45 FG%, but is avging close to or more than 4 TOs.

Re: Official NBA 2K12 My Player Thread

              So I feel disrespected..

i'm playing against the portland trailblazers in the 1st round of the playoffs representing the dallas mavericks and apparently they didn't get the memo. I can shoot a three or two..

I went 5 for 7 from 3 point land and scored 17 points on these pretenders

You see Portland straight up disrespected me because every 3 I shot was wide open.. cmon portland I'm better than that.

anyway my first ever playoff game my dallas mavericks demolished, spanked, annihilated, destroyed, embarrassed, schooled these players from portland... we won 93-66

The superstar otherwise known at Dirk Nowitzki decided to drop a cool 27 points on them with a slick 12-21 from the field but make no mistake I dished 9 assists (most of them to the German Messiah himself) and the blazers never had a chance. we held them to 9 points in the 3rd quarter.. that's right 9 points.

I posted a very cool stat line of 17 pts 5 rebounds 9 assists 3 steals 1 block going for 5-7 from 3 and 6-13 from the field and held felton to only 6 poinsts.. oh and i had no turnovers... you heard that right no turnovers my first ever game with no turnovers, these blazers tried all they could but only forced 3 turnover as a team. Home court advantage was just too much for these punks from portland and i look forward to seeing what they try to do to neutralize "houdini" in game 2

WOW didnt know there was a roster update coming today, the reason I started my new one was to do it with updated rosters. I only played the rookie showcase though luckily.

My vertical is on 99 as well, and my rebounding attributes are maxed, but I still can't consistently grab rebounds, it's like they cheat me out of them. If I don't jump basically by myself, the game will most likely let the CPU tap the ball out of my hands, and/or make me jump low, or sometimes not at all.

In fact, all my attributes are maxed out.
I'm not on my PS3 right now so I'm not sure, but I'm guessing he's averaging somewhere in double digits. Despite our horrible win record, we are leading the league in rebounds by a significant margin. Same with assists. Its frustrating to lead the league in such important stats and still not win.

I don't know why rebounds are hard for you. My PG is only 6' 1" and when I am actively going for rebounds in a game, I will always get close to double digits.

For me it seems rebounding is scripted. The ball seems to always bounce to the opposite side of the rim im on. Shooting percentages increase when I go for rebounds. The ball just takes extra bounces on the rim to prevent me from rebounding. I notice this alot and its been happening since 2K11.

I don't know about other positions, but with my PG it isn't too hard because you can always beat the AI to the paint for the jump. They opposing PG delays quite a bit before going in for the rebound, if he ever does at all. And since your man isn't going down there with you, it often gives me enough space to do a running jump for the ball - which is much much more likely to get the rebound than a standing jump.

Idk, might be because I play on HOF. I have no clue. I have Dajuan Blair in my team, he averages 11 reb, and my team also leads the league in reb and assists(I'm a big help, I averaged 17.8), so idk why rebounding is so difficult, I blame the game, not myself, last year I averaged 18 rebounds on my career with my 6'5" SG in 2K11, so I blame 2K12.

Its probably the difficulty. I play on All-Star, though I'll be bumping it up after my rookie season I think. I have no idea how you average that many assists. Do you manually send your teammates on cuts? Thats the one thing I haven't started to do yet.

I think Hustle could help with Rebounding. I didnt touch rebs, vertical, or my athleticism, but with my PG I can get 1-3 rebs where I beat out better rerbounders with my 90 Hustle.

I had the same problem with my Center, it appeared that the AI deliberately created a 2nd bounce or made the rebound long to avoid my Center from getting his hands on the ball. At an OVR: 83; it kinda of stopped. However, if one of his Objectives was to get rebounds it was even more frustrating.

Guards are just quicker and faster in the game, there is no compensation for "Rebounding" skill or SIZE - REACH, but, the Hustle (90 plus) skill neutralizes this to a degree.

As for my PG, he grabs about 5 boards a game with a little attention on my part.

I do not get alot of assists (6.0) per game either, then again, I pound the ball into the low post most of the game. I think the most I have recorded is 17. Another AI trick I suppose since when my "shot is off", I can easily get into the high teens. Of course Difficulty (Sup/Sim) has something to do with this, as your team's field goal percentage drops the higher you go.
