Re: Official NBA 2K12 My Player Thread

After a rough middle of the season, my PG and the Celtics have turned it around and clinched a playoff spot in the end of his rookie season. One game left in the regular season, and we are currently on a nine game winning streak.

It's really nice, everyone shows up in a rhythm - and it all started with damned Rondo getting injured, which helped a lot. He does nothing but hurt games when he plays, even though he's now just my backup.

Had my career high against the Nets with 60 points. I usually try to focus on assists more, but I was on fire so why not roll with it and get some milestones. I'm starting to get really good at drawing fouls now. I can't remember the last game where the opposing PG didn't get in foul trouble early.
"You honestly don't really feel it when the shots are going down. You don't ever get the goose bumps until the fans start to appreciate what you're doing."
    - Allen Iverson after scoring 60 points in a 112-99 win over the Orlando Magic in 2005.

Re: Official NBA 2K12 My Player Thread

Just started this mode with this player:

7-2 250 lb Center Ifeanyi Cisse Play Style: Defensive
NBA Comparison: Yao Ming(no current players are too similar)

Had a fantastic showing in the rookie showcase. Finished with 8 pts 8 rebounds and 3 blocks. The Draft Scouting Files(similar to what you could read about a real draft prospect on ESPN) are amazing, the amount of info they can contain is awesome. Scouts loved my size and my shot-blocking ability, but apparently my "lack of elite athleticism" held me back to the 10th pick. I don't think Elite Athleticism is all that important for a 7-2 Center. Anyways, I ended up being picked 10th as I said before, by the GS Warriors.

I have been solid on offense, but my player's real strength is on defense, where I can dominate the inside with my length. However playing on such a defensively inept team means I often have to help on defensive, which sometimes allows for an easy bucket for whoever I am defending. I have found it is very beneficial on offense to dominate a smaller defender with my size whenever I get the opportunity to do so. I just back them down and throw up a baby hook for an easy score. That is what I would consider my signature move. I'm currently averaging 14 PPG 6.8 RPG 1 SPG and 3 BPG(top 5 in the NBA) and I am placed 3rd in the ROY Race. Just had my best game, with 18 pts 6 rebounds 3 steals and 5 blocks in a loss against Detroit.

I also made a 5-11 athletic PG in the mold of Rajon Rondo, but I haven't had the same success with him. I believe it is going to take longer for his game to transition to the NBA. Got picked by the Knicks, but they never seem to want to run out on a fast break, and that is the only way I can score efficiently at this point. Hopefully I can improve with more play time and average a good amount of assists.

Defense and fast breaks are broken no matter what team you play with.

          PG/SCORING/KNICKS/SUPERSTAR DIFFICULTY

Finally got dunk up to 80, and with my Jordan shoes, it's now at a 85 with the Josh Smith Dunk Package. It gives me more incentive to go for steals, because finishing the break is NASTY. The next step is getting Standing Dunk up to that level, so I can finish drives with dunks, but that's low SP so that's good. We're just feasting on the Cavs, on game 72 of my second season. Melo has 25 points in 24 minutes so far, and I have 16 points, 5 steals and 5 assists in 25 minutes of playing time in the 3Q.

We're hunting down the No. 1 seed, and going 5-5 in our last 10 has moved us down 0.5 games from them. I'm also looking to be the leader in SPG for the first time; after this game (5 steals so far) I'll probably be barely ahead.

          Looking forward to the playoffs!

I started off at the knicks where Lin constantly dribbled into traffic and got blocked or took stupid threes (averaged under 10% away from home).

I (small forward) then got traded to the lakers for Sessions so therefore had the misfortune of having Blake as starting pg. The lowlight of his awfulness was a 0/11 performance.

Recently the team traded Gasol for Nowitsky and West who is now playing out of position as starting point guard. In the last 10 games the starting point guards have made just 27 of 106 (25%) shots and 7 of 34 three pointers (21%). With Kobe shooting around 45% and the guards not giving the ball to the big men very often it's really frustrating. Are things better with quality point guards or should I restart either as one myself or a scoring forward/center rather than a defensive one?
I'm an SF on the Wizards and John Wall is horrible lol, i think jumpshooting teammates especially suck when they're on your team in my player, because they just dribble around and take bad shots

This is incredibly frustrating. The 2k site still won't update and include my two most recent MPs, both of whom I have been playing with while connected online for two weeks now.

I really wanted to save some highlight reels and throw them up on youtube, but no matter how much I play while signed in, the site just won't put them up there.

              Anyone have any ideas?

Skill points get affected from play style?

I have been playing and All-Around Pg for over 50 matches but I am still not sure whether skill points get affected from the play style choice. I am playing for the Lakers right now and I am dishing out tons of assists but I get only 19 points for that so I wonder if a pass first point guard gets more points from assists.

If so is there a chance to change my play style since I am not able to change it in the game... Thanks for your replies in advance.

Once you pick your playstyle, that's your playstyle. You of course can put skill points into whatever attributes and abilities you want and play how you want, but as far as I know what is considered your "playstyle" never changes. This is why you see so many of us pick athletic as our playstyle.

Do points in the match get affected by your play style choice? Like points you get from 1 assist differs through your play style?

Hey guys I have a few questions and I'd be very thankful if someone could help me out

Firstly, and I apologize because this has probably already been addresses, but is there a patch that will fix the insane trade logic in this game, and if so how would I get it on the ps3? Does it just come with updating the game or is there something special you have to do? Secondly, would this patch take affect in my current my player or would I have to start over? I just can't put anymore effort into this game knowing that every year my team will be blown up by trades.

                        Thanks guys.

                          1. If you update the patch it automatically helps the trade logic to be normal. 2. I didn't have any trades after I updated the patch, so yea it should be fine.

Yeah jumpshots are so broken. The rating of how easy the shot is is so rediculous. A 6 foot jumpshot with a defender nearby but who doesn't even go up to try to block is a d or f whereas a posted up hookshot with 2 men in a forwards face is a b or b-.

West got injured for 2-4 weeks for my team so Barnes has been playing out of position at point guard. Steve Blake was waived a while ago. It's a crazy roster with only 2 first choice guards (West, Kobi) and 2 who have sg as second position (me and eyenga). I hope the draft logic is good cos the team probably won't have any money for free agents with Kobi, Dirk and Bynam being on such big contracts.

The only thing I know is that you get more points when you make a freethrow as a big man (PF or C) than if you were a guard.
