Ability to customize season lengths in My Player mode. 82 game seasons get tiring after the 3rd year, and being able to reduce the season to 28 or 56 games could greatly extend the longevity and playability of this mode.

I'd also like to see a stat correction for season length if this were to be implemented (as to still get close to season and career records). For example, implement a calculation of 2.92 x 28 = 82 (roughly), therefore if I scored 750 points in a 28 game season, multiply that by 2.92 to get an adjusted statistic for an 82 game season.

It'd be nice to also get the same sort of stat correction for minutes played if I am only playing 8 minute quarters.

I think fouling is overexaggerated in this game. I'll be guarding someone perfectly, and with on second left on the shot clock I'll jump and SOMEHOW get called for a foul. It's not even the pump faked into foul animation, it's just straight up me jumping to contest it, which forces me to have to just put a hand up using the right stick.

i want to point out a more specific issue regarding layups and the shot stick - when attempting layups the game just plain ignores the direction i move the shot stick - i'll move the shot stick right, but my player will go left on the layup. i'll be under the hoop and move the shot stick left, but instead he lays it up on the right...what is the point of having the shot stick if you can't even control the direction your player does layups? really frustrating.

also the game uses that "leaning scoop layup" animation way too much...it just looks awkward in most situations and usually a more "normal" layup would be better.

2k is a great game but has some room for improvement:
1. Can we get a legitimate arena playlist?
2. Make the crowd consistent. Cheer more consistently and get louder as the intensity grows.
3. Better celebration after a big playoff series win (Finals).
4. If 2k could make the people in the crowd act differently than the rest that would be great.
5. In association, have the ability to manage prices of parking, souvenirs, food, memorabilia, etc.

This game is really solid. If some of these could be added, that would really perfect the game.

Regarding #5, this does not make sense for an NBA game. I could see it making sense in an MLB game where there is not salary cap and the income affects the amount of money you have to control roster spending. In the NBA you are limited by a salary cap, so the only reason to have such a feature would be to upgrade your arena aesthetically, but this generation of video games have so much detail in them that this would either take too much resources on the game disk to run or wouldn't fit with the graphics.

My major beef is with the shoes/accessories. Everybody else has solid ideas for gameplay and I'm sure 2k knows that gameply can always improve but it's a matter of many different things to correct it. Accessories and shoes seem like it could be easily changed. I love the look of the game and how, for the most part, accurate the game looks. Here is my list.

1. Some of the shoes are really good in this game and some are really bad.

Examples:

-The shoes just look too big with some models (Adidas "Crazy 8" and most of the Nike models come to mind. Players feet look huge in this game and maybe most players do have big feet but it doesn't look like they're wearing boots IRL.

-The Nike, Jordan, and Converse "lows" look sweet. A lot of ballers are wearing low tops nowadays and it's nice that they put them into the game. Hopefully more next year.

-The NikeID feature is awesome. I made this suggestion a couple years back and am really pumped that they put it in the game. One problem; all the shoes are the same size! The Kobe and KD models are "lows" but in the game they are regular-sized shoes. They need to correct this next year.

-I'm glad Nike and Jordan got plenty of love this year but 2k needs to up their Adidas game. I think one or two of the shoes are actually correct on the Adidas side of the editing. Really disappointed that a lack of detail was given.

-The Foot Locker feature is great, so why didn't 2k just base the sneakers from the photos in the Foot Locker? They're all correct and the way they put them into the game to be edited was terrible.

In closing, hopefully the shoes will be top-notch next year. With the exception of NikeID feature and the Jordan's, the shoes were a major letdown this year.

2. I love the accessories added this year. A suggestion I have is to have two player accessory editing screens. One, for home and one for away.

-Some teams (Atlanta comes to mind) wear all white accessories at home but once they hit the road, they have a road jersey and an alternate jersey and with their blue uni's, they usually wear black accessories. But once they throw on their red alternate uni, they either wear red, black, or blue accessories. It gets to be a pain to do all the changing so my suggestion is to have a home and road accessory edit. Also, I give a certain player a certain NikeID shoe for home and then a different shoe for the road. It would be nice to just give them certain shoes for home and away and not have to worry about changing them.

-Give us the option of socks like earlier 2k's. It would save a lot of grief for the roster updaters to have one more thing that we keep complaining about. Some of the "road" throwback uni's have teams equipped with black socks/shoes. I don't know of any team that wears a throwback with black shoes/socks. Just give us the option to choose home and away socks and everything will be fine and it will be one less thing to worry, or not worry about during updates!

-Give us more team colors! An example of a couple of teams:

Oklahoma City Thunder:
Team Color 1 - Blue
Team Color 2 - Orange
Team Color 3 - Navy Blue
Team Color 4 - White
Team Color 5 - Black

Denver Nuggets:
Team Color 1 - Sky Blue
Team Color 2 - Gold
Team Color 3 - Navy Blue
Team Color 4 - White
Team Color 5 - Black

That should be the normal color options for most teams whom have three team colors other than white and black, and a lot of teams do have three colors. Two color teams should look like this:

Chicago Bulls:
Team Color 1 - Red
Team Color 2 - Black
Team Color 3 - White

Los Angeles Lakers:
Team Color 1 - Purple "Forum Blue"
Team Color 2 - Gold
Team Color 3 - White
Team Color 4 - Black

I think a good idea would give us the opportunity to choose our own colors like with the "custom colors" feature for the shoes. Maybe they can add that for accessories as well.

-Update team colors! Already mentioned that OKC and DEN have added dark blue colors to their accessories so it's time for 2k to step up.

-More headband colors! Also, give us the option of how the headband should sit on the head. Whether it be like LeBron trying to cover up his hairline or a player who has the headband sitting over the ears.

-Maybe add a facemask/goggle item.

-An in-between "wrist/forearm band". Players that come to mind are Brandon Rush of the Warriors wears one on his left forearm that's small like an forearm band but is a little above the wrist and below the forearm. Also, Marcin Gortat of the Suns wears one on each forearm/wrist but he can also wear a team rubberband just below them. I think that would be a cool add-on. Or, atleast for Gortat, make his wristbands just a little bit higher on the wrist so that you can put his rubberbands on and they're visible.

-A couple more socks would be nice. Ankle socks should be a little bit more visible with high tops and maybe a sock in between medium and knee socks. A player that wears "medium long" socks that comes to mind is Kyle Korver of the Bulls. Other than that, the socks were good this year.

-Give us more shoe edit options for the shoes that aren't NikeID's. Instead of giving us the shoe and two color edits, give us the shoe and maybe three or four color edits. Maybe give us another couple of choices like lace color and logo color to go along with the main parts of the shoe.

-Add Peak and Under Armour brands in low and high tops!

-More shoes that are current as well as the old ones. The entire line of LeBron's career is nice but my goodness, not including the NikeID and Kobe, KD, and LeBron sigs, 19 out the 54 Nike, Adidas, Converse and Reebok shoes are actually being worn on the court today. I was generous with a few of them because they are the right model but don't look anything like the actual model IRL. Like I said, I do like the prior models in the game that some players switch back to on some nights but a little more emphasis on current shoes would be great.

So that is all. I hope this gets read along with everybody's good ideas for improvements to a great game. Peace.

There needs to be a greater degree of variation in atheleticism and skill. Big men should not be able to keep up with guards, and guards should not be able to block a big's shot at the rim.

Well I agree that if a guard is taking off from the same place as a big man he should not be able to keep up but as for guards blocking big men, Dwyane Wade is a great shot blocker and has denied several big men for example Tyson Chandler in the Finals last year. Not to mention in his career he averages one block a game and I guarantee you they aren't all on smaller players. If you're referring the point guards then I guess you have a point there.

Look at these videos (they are all under a minute, most under 10 seconds).

It sums up a lot of what's wrong in the game from, non-responding controls, canimations, bad shot adjustment (which should not trigger on their own, it should be up to us to change the shot or not), to weird and spastic movements, etc.

Let me call quick post ups for any player. I play as the cavs and my center has gaurds on him but i cant get him to post up without a play. Either make my ai teammates know they have a height missmatch and post up or let my quick post up with him.

I usually read these threads and think half this stuff is nitpicky. But the more I play this game the more it pisses me off. So I'm gonna vent since all of these things just happened to me and I almost threw my controller through the TV.

1. On an inbounds play, when I hit the pass button, the player should pass the ball. I have so many freaking 5 sec violations and I sit there slamming the X button and my a-hole player doesn't pass the ball.

2. Some actual coaching AI. In My Player, I'm a 6'10" PF and I'm routinely being guarded by the opposing team's PG. If I'm a starter in a 30 point blow out, I shouldn't be playing 40 minutes. Double teams have been discussed to death but, holy crap, they need that option. How about strategy? Like "Guard the 3 point line" on the last second shot. There is zero situational awareness in this game. I watched a team down by 3 with 13 seconds left, dribble for 12 seconds then drive to the free throw line for a shot.

3. Passing control. Wouldn't it be nice if you could choose to throw a lob or a bounce pass.

3a. Custom mapping of the controller. I would love for the Circle, Triangle, Square etc... buttons to be direct passing to specific positions. Every time I think I'm pointing the stick in the right direction, I throw a pass to the guy behind him and it's a turnover. I have the shot stick for shooting. I have the Left stick for Isomotion. Let me have real passing control that doesn't involve hitting a sequence of buttons. I also despise the D-pad quick coaching options. I don't have a problem that some people use them, but if my hand slips (happens more often than I'd like to admit) I've suddenly put all my scrubs into the game as I'm trying to figure out why the X button isn't working. Oh, it's because I accidentally called up the Substitution on the Fly mode. Yay, me.'

4. Why no sliders in My Player? Really?

5. Why not have the option of maintaining the draft I just had to sit through? I watched Biyombo get drafted by someone else. Why is he back on the Bobcats? I like that my presence has altered reality. That's why I play.

6. Why is it anytime a player gets bumped and loses the ball or if he gets his shot blocked, he stands there motionless? You know that players are aware of their surroundings. When the get blocked, they usually try and move.

But seriously, the AI is this game is steaming piles of crap. If that doesn't get fixed, I'm gonna be going without an NBA game for a while. /end rant. Sorry.
