I have read a few threads about improvements to associations, but no one has really been specific about online associations. I'm the type of person that gets tired of playing a game real quickly unless I have a bunch of friends to play with me. I have lived on online dynasties on NCAA Football games for the past few years and now finally NBA 2k12 came out with an online association, which I think was a great step going forward.
There were a few things about the online associations that really got me aggravated though.
*Not being able to download a draft class for an upcoming season is something that definitely needs to be put in the game next year. I wanted to see players like Anthony Davis, Harrison Barnes, Thomas Robinson, etc. Not unknown players who no one really cares about.
*Commissioners/Creaters of an online association should be able to manually advance by day or by week. I'm sick of the time limit. A lot of times I've been unable to keep an online association active because of the slow advance times. Let there be an option to have it advance every so many hours or manually advance it when ever you want to.
*If we offer a trade, please don't wait 6 advances before we find out if it is going to go through or not. Either say yes or no, so we can move on with other deals. Also, if a trade is accepted, don't make me wait 24 hrs for the trade to go through. Just give me the player so I dont have to wait on them to play some of my games.
*Stop making the CPU offer some of the dumbest trades in the world. If you are the Chicago Bulls, why would you trade Noah or Deng for someone like Kyle Lowry who is just going to sit the bench behind Derrick Rose. That makes no sense.
*Contracts. I won't trade for about anyone that doesn't have at least four years on their contract before you start an association. The CPU makes the dumbest signings ever. They would will give a 75 overall player the contract the size of Derrick Rose's contract. They have no money management what so ever.
*Trade finder. Okay so every now and then a good trade will come up, but more often than not trade finder will throw some of the most unreasonable trades ever. I'm not going to trade you Dwight Howard for a pick and a one star player so don't even throw that stupid offer out there.
*Free Agency/Players Resigning is unrealistic. Lebron James has NEVER resigned with a team and he will NEVER in his entire life sign with someone like the Milwaukee Bucks. Play for a winner means nothing for any player. I could go undefeated, with the MVP with Lebron, Defensive Player of the Year, NBA Title, and him being the Finals MVP and he would still leave me to resign with someone else offering the same amount of money I am. Play for a winner needs more emphasis and loyalty doesn't need to mean as much.
*Last thing I can think of is the fanasty draft. I wish it would let the creator pick the order of the draft. Sometimes I want everyone to start with a dominant player so I will give users all the highest picks, while other times I want users to picks toward the back, so we won't have a dominate player like Lebron and Durant.
