I'm trying to start a 30 team controlled association using bedwardsroy's roster, problem is though the teams' rotations are different from the way the guide has them. Even the player roles are different.

What am I doing wrong? Can anyone shed some light?

Lakers get:
D. Harris
P. Millsap

Jazz get:
P. Gasol
D. Morris
'13 1st rd pick (unprotected)

Devin Harris has been a bust in Utah so far.. irl and in the video game.. Gasol gives them some veteran leadership and playoff experience.. and Morris can develop into a better PG than Harris.. da Jazz are currently 9th in the West.. Lakers are 4th..

first off you should turn players role oFF.. and then adjust the line-ups using the guide..

You have to change it all yourself when you start your association it sounds like a lot of work but assigning roles and mins took me 15min tops

So that means I DO need to have the ROLES option on then. I had it off like the guide says but then I couldn't change the players' roles.

Grizzlies get:
C. Lee
J. Flynn

Rockets get:
O. Mayo
J. Selby
'13 2nd rd pick

then..

Rockets get:
D. Granger
'12 1st rd pick

Pacers get:
K. Martin

Pacers get a shooter and can move Paul George back to the 3.. Rockets get 2 solid players to begin to rebuilding process w/ Kyle Lowry.. Grizzlies get 2 solid role players who have expiring contracts..

(as u can tell im approaching the trade deadline and my mind is running with ideas.. sorry for all the posts)

Some of the players don't have the right roles though and when I turn player role off I can't correct them.

Im confused with what youre asking, if they are off then it doesnt matter at all what their roles are

According to your guide for the 76ers:

Starters: J. Holiday
J. Meeks
Iggy
Brand
Hawes

That's the starting 5. In the sixth spot u have T. Young as the sixth man. In the game though L. Williams is the sixth man.

Was your focus solely on the starters and the bench lineup isn't as important?

They both play off the bench, Young averages more minutes... We have said player roles do not matter at all, thats why they are off. They make no sense.

It wouldnt matter if Thad Young was listed as the star? The rotations are set for minutes played, not player roles, because as I said, they dont matter.

In real life do teams only have one bench player that can win the sixth man award?

It doesnt matter what slot they are listed on the spreadsheet, the starting 5 and the minutes are all that matters

Ok have another question/suggestion. Think guys that are injured/suspended at the beginning of the year could be added to the guide when they officially came back?

I ask because I'm going through the beginning of the season minutes for each team and I notice a few notable players that aren't even listed for minutes. For my Pistons Villaneuva (I know he has a 5 game suspension to start and a lingering "injury" as they're calling it) and then Michael Redd (who I believe was signed later in the season) & Josh Childress on the Suns, Greg Oden (Mr. Glass) on Trail Blazers, etc. I'm not the biggest basketball buff by any means, but it'd be nice for us guys that don't follow the league as intently if it could be added to the guide when to bring these guys back in the rotations.

In my opinion, there's no point for the Lakers doing that trade... If Morris as better potential than Harris, then why trading him ?
And Millsap is good but not as good as Gasol for the moment, not sure the Lakers are in rebuilding mode and want to wait for Millsap to become an all star...

My idea to improve the Lakers would be trying to get OJ Mayo, I think he's the kind of player that they need ( as a backup for Barnes, MWP isn't that good ). Grizzlies need a backup PG for Conley so maybe a trade involving Mayo and Steve Blake, plus other players because Mayo worse way more than the only Steve Blake.
