Really like this trade. Seems fair and realistic to me. Plus, I'd rather like this idea, Howard kept and Magic doig some trade to make him happy, than the idea of him getting traded. I can't see Howard in another uniform than the Magic's one.

Ok guys the deadline is approaching fast and I'm looking to help contending teams while trade off players from the bad teams. So here are my trade ideas (two of them I'm definitely going to do more than likely).
Trade #1- Suns, who have the worst record in basketball in late January are looking to trade Steve Nash and Grant Hill for draft picks, expiring contracts, and/or young players to build around. This is a 3 way deal between Miami/Phoenix/Memphis:
Suns Trade: Steve Nash (MIA)
Heat Trade: Mike Miller (MEM), Mario Chalmers (PHO), 2012 1st rd pick (MEM)
Grizzlies Trade: OJ Mayo (PHO)
Grizzlies won't have money to resign Mayo (already figured it out) so they get Mike Miller who is signed for 3 more years, and a 1st rd pick. Suns get a future allstar calibur SG and a fairly good young PG to replace Nash. Heat get a star PG, giving them that missing piece to the puzzle for their NBA title.
Trade #2- Suns trading Grant Hill this time to the Warriors...
Suns Trade: Grant Hill
Warriors Trade: Kwame Brown, rights to the Nets 2012 2nd rd pick
Suns get an expiring contract, and another draft pick. Warriors get needed depth off the bench with Hill, who averages 10ppg(as a starter though). Warriors already will have made trade with Hornets for Okafor(read back pages to see) so loss of Kwame is no big deal there.
Trade #3- The Bucks, who have the 2nd worst record in basketball are looking to ship a disgruntled Stephen Jackson for expiring contacts and/or draft picks. Found the Mavericks as a solid contender who could use Jackson at the 2 spot.
Bucks Trade: Stephen Jackson
Mavs Trade: Lamar Odom(9ppg), and possible draft pick(haven't decided if it's needed yet).
Mavs get a scorer to start at the SG position, and can make a legitimate run to the NBA Finals once again now in the West. Bucks get Lamar Odom, who has a team option for next season which they'd decline to save cap space. If I choose to give them a draft pick, then obviously they'd be getting a pick too, to go along with Odom.
What do you guys think??? I'm about 98% sure I'll do trades #1 and #2, and about 70% sure I'll do trade #3 as of now...Comment

Re: Bedwardsroy19 30-Team Control Association Guide/Discussion
so i passed the trade deadline in my 1st season.. here are the moves i made..
Rockets trade:
Jonny Flynn, Courtney Lee, '13 1st rd pick
Grizzlies trade:
O.J. Mayo/Josh Selby
Mayo was not gonna resign with Memphis and i think Lee is a pretty good replacement.. the Grizzlies also got a nice backup for Conley and i didnt feel right not giving the Grizz a 1st rd pick for Mayo..
Pacers trade:
Danny Granger, '12 1st rd pick (top 10 protected)
Rockets trade:
Kevin Martin
both the Pacers and Rockets were at the bottom of their confrence when trade was made.. Rockets are 7-3 since and Pacers are 8-3 since.. both are fighting for that 8th spot..
Lakers trade:
Pau Gasol, Andrew Bynum, 2 1st rd picks
Magic trade:
Dwight Howard, Hedu Turkoglu
Lakers are 4th in the West and the Magic are 6th.. so i think the time was right for the trade.. a bonus is that Bynum has been playing extremely well in my association.. 18.7 ppg, 12.9 rpg, 1.7 bpg.. Gasol is playing pretty good too.. 21.1 ppg, 9.3 rpg.. Bynum's 1st game in Orlando: 32 pts,15 rbs..
Timberwolves trade:
Michael Beasley
Kings trade:
Jason Thompson
using the random injury generator both teams were hit with season ending injuries to key players.. Salmons is out for the Kings and they are fighting to hold on to the 8th spot in the West.. Garcia just wasnt getting it done at the 3.. the Wolves lost Darko for three months and Randolph for the season.. Beasley was not in the Wolves future plans so they had to move him.. Thompson wasnt getting a lot of minutes in Sac..
Warriors trade:
Ekpe Udoh, Andris Biedrins, '13 1st rd pick
Hornets trade:
Emeka Okafor, Jason Smith
i saw this deal on here and looked at where the Warriors and Hornets were in my association and thought this was a good deal.. so shoutout to who was the 1st person to make this deal.. the Warriors are 5th in the West and needed to get better in the middle.. Hornets get another draft pick.. they might need it cuz who knows where Eric Gordon is gonna be at the start of next season.. Indy perhaps??.. and Kaman just told the Hornets he will not resign in NOLA so Biedrins is an OK replacement if that happens..
i know im gonna get ripped for these trades but whatever.. this is more based on whats going on in 'my association' not real life.. i tried to keep it as real as possible but at he same time i gotta make moves based on how teams are playing in the game.. either way i would love to hear what you guys think..Last edited by LJ_K1NG; 01-28-2012, 12:18 PM.All Hail The K1NG!

Re: Bedwardsroy19 30-Team Control Association Guide/Discussion
Not too shabby. Trade #1 actually makes a lot of sense the more I look at it. Trade #2 leaves the Suns a tad short...although Grant Hill will probably retire at the end of the season...not sure who you could throw in instead of Kwame...
Trade #3 could work...although I think the Bucks would prefer a draft pick and a bit player over Odom.
Yeah, I really like the Nash trade alot...I wanted to move Nash to the Knicks or Lakers first, but they had no players to match his salary to make it work. So I thought Miami, and thanks to Dpauley to figure a way to do it. Had to get the Grizzlies in there or it just woudn't have worked.
For Hill...he's not putting up great numbers, and he will probaby retire after the season too. Warriors(my team) looking for more depth off the bench. I am going to trade for Okafor too so losing Kwame is no big deal. I get what you're saying about a better player for Hill, but just not sure who, and I figured Hill is only worth a 2nd rd pick IMO this late in his career. Honestly, the Suns are pretty much getting a free player out of the deal since Hill probably retires.
The Odom deal is tough, but it would definitely work...I look at other teams and the Mavs seem like the best option and have the players to match his contract so the trade can happen. And I'll throw in the Mavs 2012 1st rd pick then...that make it better? No other team (in contention) in my association needs a starting SG/SF honestly.Comment

All pretty solid trades...as for Eric Gordon, the Hornets will match any offer given to him so IMO he's not going anywhere. On mine I gave him a 5yr/68mil extension with the Hornets...just edit his contract to make it work. The new CBA says contracts are 7% back instead of 10%(like on the game). So I just decided to do all 5% types which is on the game, but its up to you! Like I said, I resigned Gordon cuz they will match any offer anyway...Comment

Re: Bedwardsroy19 30-Team Control Association Guide/Discussion
The Rockets get screwed in that deal. The only way i see HOU coming away with a good deal is if you throw in some unprotected first round picks from NJ. Lopez is a downgrade from Dalembert in my opinion. Lopez has ZERO defense and rebounding and he needs the ball to be productive.
This is my perspective,
Lopez is a legit Center, not a dominate one but a legit one. Houston has been trying to get a Center since they lost Yao. Lopez would also blend well with Scola and Patterson. This combination provides matchup problems for more than 80% of the league. It frees up shots for Turkoglu, Lowery and Courtney Lee. Lee can feel the void at SG just as well as Kevin Martin with his ability to come off of low post screens and is a good perimeter defender.
<O
Before the trade Houston was 4 games below .500 and going nowhere fast. Now, they are a legit competitor for the 7th or 8th seed in the playoffs. Remember I am blending realism with what is going on in my association.
<O</O
Even with this great roster 2k is still 2k and there are some irregularities. Golden State is 2nd in the west right now and Charlotte is 4th in the east with an injured lineup and severe lack of talent. Their team unity is 35% right now but they still keep winning.
<O</O
I look at the association like this; if a team is winning no matter how they are in real life I will let them play or even look to improve them when the time is right. If a team is struggling when they should not I look to improve them as well. The Clippers are dead last in the west 8-22 right now L even with their talent and no injuries. I blend realism with the chaos 2k creates and try to make the association as real as it will let me. <O</O

I'm not sure about trade 2 because I don't know why Phoenix would do it. Brown is an expiring contract but so is Hill. Brown would just sit the bench behind Gortat and Lopez and I wouldn't think he would re-sign. The 2nd round pick isn't worth much either.
Trade 3 looks fair and realistic.Last edited by volstopfan14; 01-28-2012, 12:58 PM.Tennessee Volunteers

Trade 1 is interesting. Memphis may not be getting mcuh but Mayo likely won't be re-signing anyways. so I think it will work.

Well thinking abut 2k12 though...Hill retires after season most likely so the Suns aren't really getting screwed here. Why would Phoenix do it? Because they are the worst team in the NBA!
We can't always factor in real life for this game, there's a balance. IRL no, they wouldn't trade Hill for Kwame and a 2nd rd pick. But irl, Hill prolly doesn't retire...all the trades I do are based on what the teams are doing in my association at the time. Odom would never go up to Milwaukee to play irl, but the Bucks are dead last in the East and are going to start the "rebuilding phase" in my association.
Here is another option for Hill...
Timberwolves, who are 5th seed in my association trade: Martell Webster, 2012 2nd rd pick
Suns Trade: Grant HillComment

Yeah I know he retires in 2k12. With Gortat and Lopez, more than likely Kwame leaves as an FA after the season. So essentially, Hill goes for a 2nd round pick. That's better than nothing. Personally, its not a trade I would make but it's not my game. Do what you want and have fun. It's your game.
What is Hill worth though, this late in his career?? Definitely not a 1st rd pick! And I wouldn't give up a rising young player for him either.Comment

You can't possibly trade Nash to the Knicks without giving them like 7 players or something to match his 11mil salary lol. Unless you want to trade Amare or Melo it's impossible. Knicks were my first choice but just not a possible way to get him there.Comment
