Not Nas, but trust me I would rather hear Illmatic all over this game. It's not about the music or the fact he ex. produced the game, it's the pointless appearances of him in an NBA game. I don't see the point of it. Take your credits and make yourself unlockable DONE. This guy managed to be everywhere on the game and yet it's disappointing that it's over saturated with a rapper and not an NBA great.

      Re: NBA 2k13 Impressions Thread

The game is really, really good, enjoying it a lot. I play on pro and finding that the offensive rebounding is only a problem when I'm not working to get the rebound. I think it plays pretty realistically, I know you guys are playing on harder levels so perhaps that's the issue. Now I can get putbacks too when they seemed far too uncommon before, it seemed like there was a force field around the rim not letting me get offensive rebounds.

The really sad part for me right now is the classic teams, no Dr. J, my favorite player as a kid? Ouch!! No young Kareem on the Bucks or Showtime Lakers? Ouch! No Walt Hazzard on my favorite classic team, the Pistol Pete Hawks with those sweet uniforms? Ouch! No Barkley on the Sixers? What gives? Only Dream Team Barkley? No Chris Webber, that's a LOT of teams that have been gimped and right now there's no resolution in sight. Give me 13 with those players back in or the ability for the roster makers to give me them and I'll be really, really happy. If they can't do it I'll be splitting time between 11, 12 and 13.

Getting used to the controls, looks like shot button makes life a lot easier, just when I was getting used to right stick shooting exclusively. If the shot button with the left directional stick gives the same results as right stick shooting that would be nice, haven't played enough games to see. I'm still spazzing all over the sticks and triggers, I get a clear lane and think I'm going to dunk and OOPS forgot the left trigger....AGAIN!!! Right trigger and x does dunk though if I'm not mistaken.

2K knows how to make sports games, you need millions of animations, next generation I hope they can add tons more animations and give all the players little brains and we'll be good to go.

Well said. Reliving the classics is a huge reason I buy this game, and the Lakers are NOT showtime without Kareem. I don't get where it went wrong on the classics this season, but it's not good. Sure the gameplay and fun can hold it's own, but there is alot that has harmed more than helped the game. I think I am gonna stick with 12, and hope for the best next season.

I agree for the most part, and I definitely agree that it's "Jigga overload" this year, but as long as I can skip the intros and get to the actual gameplay (which features no Jay-Z), i'm fine.

It's not like 2K left those guys out on purpose. Look at the Dream Team roster; Pippen was the only holdout but after being blasted on Social Media, he caved in and agreed to be in the game.

These legends aren't cheap and some obviously wanted more money than what 2K was willing to pay for the rights to use their likeness in the game. The Barkley thing is a little perplexing as to why he wasn't put on the 84-85 Sixers, but otherwise, I've got no beef with 2K in regards to the legends.

Playing on Superstar/Simulation and I'm already sick and tired of the CPU cheese.

This has gotten worse and worse every year since 2K8.

If I happen to have a lead in the 4th, cue the blown dunks/layups - inexplicable wide open midrange misses - inexplicable CPU defensive bumps for backcourt violations/out of bounds calls.

This game versus the CPU does not resemble anything like real basketball.

Haha, this is so true. Was just talking about this type of bs on the last page. Just wait until your center gets a wide open dunk and it flies off the rim. It's complete BS.

After seeing the retail game, his presence in that game is truly HOVAkill. We didn't need this guy to enhance an already amazing game. I would have rather seen him try to rebuild EA's NBA than even come near one of the few games I buy annually.

This game has gotten me back to my childhood times, the way i waited all day long in work to get my copy over the night and the way i literally run home to get it in to my ps3, was great and then the result with the way the game plays, simheads must be having GREAT fun...

Thanks 2k for making this happen..

                              Just rented from Redbox

Won on a buzzer beater from Pierce vs Dallas first game 10 minute quarters allstar simulation. It doesn't get any better than that. Pierce's reaction was hilarious and awesome. The game just feels more alive this year. The way players move off the ball and run plays is very realistic. The way players interact and animate is really amazing. I've gotta give 2k credit where credit is due. 2k has always been very good with their gameplay but it seems to come all together here. The graphics and faces are a step back in ways and a mixed bag, but out of the box it played a very good game. Terry was lighting it up late and the commentators even commented how he tends to do that. I didn't really see an issue with the rebounding in the game I played but it was only one game. About 80 shots per on 10 minute quarters. Autosubs were spot on. Minutes were dispersed throughout the celtics deep lineup perfectly and each player was utilized correctly. Going to need some slider adjustments but pretty damn good.

The soundtrack is wicked imo. Don't mind the Jay Z integration at all really. Music during replays is good. You can go through each player after the game and watch signature highlights. Halftime highlights and a focus on each star player at the half. I love the outdoor shots at the start of the game and at the half although it would be cool if they do more with it. Presentation is really good imo. I felt immersed.

Overall it's what I expected and an end of gen masterpiece although maybe not as revolutionary as I'd like.

Oh btw I messed up at the end of the game. WAs up 1 with the ball, didn't have ray allen to pass to for the free throws so I switched to bradley and choked ont he pass and threw it out of bounds. Dallas proceeded to score, then Pierce ended it. It was very realistic.
