Quick question. I am considering making an SF but can't decide between Athletic of All-Around... I really like dunking on people and I have the patience to upgrade it but I need to find a way to score first... Which one is better at the beginning?

Re: Official NBA 2K13 MyCareer thread
All-Around SF has a higher rating in shooting (close, inside, mid-range, 3pt) to begin with. The Athletic SF has a higher rating in dunk and lay-up. One thing I like to point out, All-Around SF can have 99 in dunk.Comment

Re: Official NBA 2K13 MyCareer thread
It really depends on what style you like playing more, do you like doing driving to the basket for layup/dunks(athletic) or getting open and hitting jumpshots while getting a few assists(all-around) ?Comment

Re: Official NBA 2K13 MyCareer thread
The thing is that when I tried to create an athletic one I had trouble getting SP and my teammate grade was always beneath B... I missed all the layups and I couldnt make a simple, open medium shot , not to mention that it was really expensive upgrading any of them...Comment

if your looking to start producing quickly and earn better teammate grade and sp/vc then i would think of scoring/all-around. you can check yourself while creating player. the shot med, close are 70 or above and you should hit those shots with consistency if u create space and get open. Athletic helps you in long run IMO. In the end its about picking the style that personally suits you the best and what comes naturally to you.Comment

Re: Official NBA 2K13 MyCareer thread
you start with better speed, vertical and layup which are one of the more expensive attributes to buy. If you know to work your way to the rim and know how to defend its easier to keep getting good grade and earn vc by scoring/rebounding and improve other attributes while doing so. By the end of my rookie season as athletic SF I was min 85 on almost every stat and overall of 88.Comment

Re: Official NBA 2K13 MyCareer thread
After a 0-5 start to the season, we finally have our first win of the season against the 76ers (my second key game).
I like to lead the league in rebounding again, but I'm only averaging 10.1rpg. There are about 5 players with rpg above me (Kevin Love is leading the league now with 13+rpg). I know their stats will drop as the season goes on, but I think I should stop playing key games for now to raise my averages. There should be about 4-6 games to my next key game, so I'm going to play every game until my next key game.Comment

Re: Official NBA 2K13 MyCareer thread
On that one, Hubbard. I had 4 total in that game. They both threw 2. But, I will mainly being doing that with Demunyck since he has 91 Pass and Hubbard has 76 pass. I couldnt do it often in NOH because no one could pass there
Those 2 PGs are both beasts. I think even though Hubbard has lower pass, he plays more like a True PG. But, Demunyck's dribble-to-pass ability is great. Next game, I will make sure that Demunyck gets alot of ISO. He shot poorly because he took alot of floaters and inside shots. He is a shot creator, so he needs to be in ISOs. Hubbard is 5'10, but has 90+ Dunk. So when he dunks it, it looks crazy. I rather him Dunk than layup because at 5'10 he will get blocked alot.
With both of them having 88 Off Awr, it really shows on the court. It is one thing to have a high-ish pass rating, but if you have low Off AWR, they wont play efficiently. Rivers had 70+ Pass but with 50+ Off AWR, he often played terrible. I expect both of them to have the Floor General Skill in the future. Like I said earlier, Demunyck made some crazy moves.Last edited by illwill10; 12-24-2012, 12:48 PM.Comment

Re: Official NBA 2K13 MyCareer thread
Started the playoffs as #1 seed against the #8 seed Celtics, I decided to play the next key game instead playing every game in the playoffs.
We ended up down 0-3 going in to Game 4. In Game 4, on the Cs home court, I put the team on my back, scoring a team playoff record 63 points, grabbing 10 boards and 12 assists, another team playoff record as we won 119-109. So we lived to fight another day.
In Game 5, we returned home to Charlotte; determined not to get bounced in the 1st, especially at home, the entire team stepped up. Walker had 24 points, 3 rebounds and 3 assists, Gordon had 16 points and 6 boards, Thomas had 14 points, 7 rebounds and 4 blocks and Haywood had 5 points, 8 rebounds, a steal and 3 blocks, the bench also played well. While I had 26 points, 21 boards(team playoff record), 10 assists and 3 steals. We won 103-85 and we're on our way back to Boston for game 6.Say "No" to railroaded MC modes.Comment
